Sounds great, except for the piano. After listening several times, the instrument and recording are fine, it's the "style" of playing that makes it sound weird.
There seems to be a liberal application of "jazz chords", for lack of a better term, in this entire album. I'm not a musician so it's hard for me to describe it. It's like he's placing flats and sharps in unusual ways. I thought at first my tape machine was having a fit of wow at times but there was no corresponding change in tempo, etc.
@@waygonemusic Yeah...definitely from the attitude of: "it's Jazz, and if you don't "get it" you're not cool, and that's your problem". Kinda like some "pure Jazz" soloists play a well known tune by playing 20 random notes "around" the actual tune's to where it's unrecognizable.
