- One last sprint getting jobs done before Christmas. It was great to have my niece and nephew to help out! I also took some time to go over the new to me Konica C2070 digital press. The light is going to be great!

Hi Dan, I discovered your channel about 4 months ago and absolutely love it, I have been working in a print shop for my local school system for 37 years and I run the Digital presses, I have been running 3 KM'S for the past 4 years, I have two 1250's and one C-1100 and they are by far the best Digital machines we have had, and BTW all 3 have the light poles on them and are lifesavers, I would recommend you getting them for your presses!
Keep up the great work and I'm trying to get caught up watching the old videos and always looking forward to the next one!

Merry Christmas Dan and Family and All!!! You are not alone in wrapping presents with paper. When I was a kid my grandmother would wrap presents in various colored paper. Her daughter (my aunt) worked at Moore's and they bought all their paper in the large full size rolls of paper. Apparently once the paper got down to a certain point on the roll it was too "curled" for most uses. They'd use the "curlier" parts to make NoteStix (their brand of post-it notes), and apparently once you got down on the roll far enough it was too curly even for NoteStix. So the cores with the remaining paper, and there was a good amount of paper left on these things, would either get recycled or employees could take them home. So my aunt would grab some and give to my grandmother for wrapping paper. She gave me various sizes and colors too and I'd use them for arts and crafts, and to cut little paper strips to make paper chain wreaths for Christmas decorations.

@@justaprinter give it a shot. plain paper shoots out the tray at normal speeds. goes to transfer belt, gets to fuser and turns around for side b. transfer belt does its job, paper though, continues on to travel with the belt, goes UP vertically and not into the fuser.
I would love to have lights on my machines. Going to have to investigate this.

Yeah, but print something nice on the paper before your wrap them! I used silver and gold on the iridesse and made awesome paper wraps!

I use my ream paper for wrapping paper, that is, if it looks good. Earthchoice by Domtar had nice ream paper for a while. Re-use is better than recycle.
I use code 43 instead of 62 in the test mode. It gives a continuous halftone for each color.

Hullo Mr. Just A Printer. iam a printer from Uganda who follows your videos always . I have a small copier c364 and I would like to upgrade to a C6000, c7000 or c1070 which advise could you give please . Iam finding a hard time to decide

Personally I’d recommend checking for reoccurring error and jam codes. Parts counters could have all been reset by someone prior to you checking the machine. Errors and jams are harder to hide and could potentially show that a machine has problems other than quality

You really should clean your IDC sensors before youre doing any sort of automatic adjustments especially before doing color registration adjustments. Since there only seem to be 2 points where you were missing print (seen in Y) but you didnt have any problems on your drum surfaces there might be sth on your transfer belt.
Thanks for the heads up on the sensor cleaning. I did think I saw something on the transfer belt when I was editing the video. You are probably onto something with that.

I only have experience with the 1070. Not sure what the difference is between the that and the "L" version. I'd stay away from the 5501 since its older technology.

what is difference between 3070 and 1085? (1085 has significantly lower prices of drums...) why did you buy 3070? thx
I might need to reconsider the 1085. The c8000 is what I used to have and it had several issues.

I don't know much about those machines, but many people start with copiers like that.
How you people resolve color line issue? Which were coming in this video. What is the solution, changing corona wire unit? or it happens once developer gets weak?
The edge of the paper that comes out first is called the lead edge. If the line runs from lead edge to trail edge then it is likely a corona issue. If the issue instead runs perpindicular to the the lead edge (i.e. from the operator side to the board side) then it is likely to do with the developer. If it repeats at a certain pitch (i.e. a spot every 3.5 inches or whatever) then it will be tied to transfer roller (either the roller that transfers from the drum to the belt or from the belt to paper. Hint: if it affects all colours then it is from the belt to the paper, if it is only one toner colour then it is from the drum to the belt).

Why do you use 2070,3070, but not 1085. She is faster and cheaper print (At least I was told so. I'm using 1070 :D )
Multiple small machines are faster than a 1085. I also like the redundancy, one machine will always be up and running. I used to have a c8000 and decided the smaller machines were more durable.
Hi Dan. I just found your channel by chance this morning. Watching it makes me think you know more about KM printers than the servicemen that have been trying to fix my problem. For the past two months my 2060 printer has been acting up. It has stopped registering the paper, resulting in the image moving as much as 3/8" side to side on the paper. Registration in the direction of the paper feed is fine. They have replaced over $30K worth of parts in this machine over the course of 4 service calls. Have had two regional KM service reps visit, and still they have not solved the problem. Have you ever heard of such a problem or could you direct me to some competent source to help me? Hmm, I have not had that issue. Sounds like the sensors that sense the paper could be a problem maybe? Does the problem occur if you are printing single sided?
Less movement during one sided printing. The registration roller does not move during printing except to spin. They replaced that entire section and the control board.
@@kleinartworks The right technician I'm sure could fix it. I also think a tech can turn off the registration to see if it is better then. Sorry that this is happening!

I don't know how to do that on the machine. But you can do that in the Fiery by assigning paper trays to different pages of the document. I'll see if I can make a video on that for you!
