The UCI Mountain Bike World Series unites mountain bike’s major formats under a single brand for the first time. Excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between Enduro and downhill?

Slightly less difficult tracks and the race is done in timed stages where the riders have to pedal to the start of each one

Enduro races have multiple stages, some of which you have to pedal to the top of, so the total race time is usually 20-40 minutes, but you might be out there riding for 6-8 hours. The stages also sometimes have uphill or flat sections, so aerobic fitness is more important than downhill. And in enduro you only get to preview each track one time the day before, whereas in downhill you can take as many practice runs as you want during your scheduled practice time (lift-served, no less).

In downhill theres jumps that are 2-12 m long, in enduro only rather small ones.
