Tyler is the savior of real country, the way the genre was meant to be. None of that worn out overused stereotype fire, truck, beer, oh baby bullshit. Really glad you decided to do a reaction. "Follow you to virgie" is another great song with a powerful meaning behind it.
He weaves those aspects into stories. They are not items that he tries to build into an entire song. Show me one of his songs that does not have a deeper meaning than "oh baby strip on the hood of my truck". You won't.
Awesome reaction!! Tyler Childers is from Eastern, Ky. Where I'm from!! He has alot off GREAT SONGS!! Please react to "Nose on the Grindstone" "I'll follow you to Virgie " "Feathered Indians " "All Your'n" He's from the exact same part of Ky that Chris Stapleton!! Paintsville, Ky - Pike Co, Ky and Martin Co, Ky!! Coal Mining Country!!
Hi @Lindsey Stanley! I'm related to Stsnleys from Martin county! Heck, I basically related to almost EVERYONE from Martin Co, Floyd Co, Pike Co all the way to Mingo Co, West Virginia!! Maynard, Jude, Smith, Mullins, Scott, Fletcher, Webb,Reed,McCoy,Hatfield...etc etc So; we're probably related some how! Lol
Proud to be from Paintsville ky. All my family were coal miner's. But when the mine collapsed my great grandpa said to my grandpa to never come back to the hills...
Im from pike county and from a family of coal miners, and listen to the old timers talk about it. Its nuts. Underground miners have a similar outlook as some soldiers, where they they are half expecting to lose their life. Different breed of dudes and im super proud to be a part of them.
Love that new talent from my home is being recognized, Tyler is an amazing story teller with his music and it's 100% real and relates to our surrounding counties!
Hoping to find decent pay for decent work in America is a story as old as America. The working man suffers. These anthems mean so much to me and mine. Black/white/any background/rural/urban/veteran/civilian/young/old/male/female--- every American working full time deserves to be able to make ends meet. For so many of us it's like Tyler Childers says: "Hell's probably better than tryin' to get by". Labor has power. United we bargain, divided we beg. ORGANIZE AND STRIKE NOW!!
Tyler is Appalachia Folk music not quite country not quite bluegrass. I live in near the Appalachia area and it is the hard times he writes about in small communities the impact of drugs, coal mining, and losing people. His stuff is very good and there is know one out there like him today. Nice reaction you caught it right away!
Ill tell ya what this is one powerful song man. I think everyone in america can relate to this song man. We all face hard times and i was the same way transitioning out of the military. By the way thank you for your service brother
Great choice of song, glad you did the live performance. I would recommend Colter Wall, his voice alone is worth a reaction. Evan Bartels is another really great up and coming artist.
tyler is from eastern kentucky coal fields as am i the place he refers to hindman did have coal mines open the coal mines are shut down its hard to raise a family in eastern kentucky nowadays hard times for sure its a struggle everyday people either move away commit suicide or deal drugs lots of poverty in the eastern kentucky hills
Souther eastern KY has lost the mines and north eastern where I’m from had lost about a thousand jobs in the last 5yrs and with the closing of a hospital in April that’ll be another thousand. What do they expect us to do?
Goddamn right, you said exactly what It means to be a real musician, you gotta make people feel what you're singing and sadly most musicians today miss the mark
Just found you man! Thanks for being so positive! Most reactors are so negative nowadays, it's so nice to see someone actually enjoy something and relate to it. You should do Follow You To Virgie by Tyler as well.
Just came across your channel just subbed, first of all Thank you for your service. Second, some one here already suggested "I'll follow you to Virgie" Haven't read all the comments or suggestions but "White house Road" is an excellent song as well. Take care.👍

@@kimberlygrimm7007 Oooh I know all about that! When I introduce myself, it 95% of the time it goes like this. "Hi, my name's Hawken" "Nice to meet you Hawkins." ..... "there's no S"
Look up Chris Stapleton in his band he started in "The Steeldrivers", Chris is also from paintsville kentucky. In the steeldrivers he sang with a lot more passion and more kentucky twang than before the producers got ahold of him as a solo artist
He's from eastern Kentucky right across the border from me. It's the middle of poor, working class coal country. The mines have their ups and downs, and being one of the only high-wage jobs there, the towns go up and down right with them. Drugs and alcoholism are rampant, as are depression and suicide. All that said, it's a hard life but one most of us are deternined to keep living no matter how tough it gets. I'll be here till they turn the lights off.
I know this is kinda an old video, but I just want to say I loved the reaction and I especially want to say thank you for those words towards the end. I’m currently transitioning out of the military and trying to figure life out. What you said almost brought me to tears. I’m gonna stick through it. Thanks man keep it up 🤙🏻
Tyler Childers is from Lawrence County, Kentucky. In our area, there is next to no work but there used to be a lot of coal mines. More often than not, the men would go work in the mines for a very small wage. If you dug a lot of coal, they'd give you a belt buckle or a pocket knife. Eastern Kentucky is one of the most impoverished places in all of the United States and Tyler talks about that. He brings attention to it. He lets everyone know how hard it is to live there and, really, how hard it can be to live at all.
Thank you Billy, I love music, and I have discovered some new favorites through your videos. I love good vocals, and this guy has a very different, extremely interesting voice, not technically perfect, but, really good nonetheless.
Sometimes...they don't make it...whether it be in rugged Appalachia or a metropolitan area. Hard times does not discriminate, but the poorest and most vulnerable feel it most.
You need to listen to 'I'm your'n ' i was born and half raised near him. It is a hard scrabble life when you work in the coal mines, and that's about all the work there is.... when it is.
I’m currently on the obsessed side w Tyler Childers’ music. That’s a voice that gets ya right in the feels.
He's a really great guy too. He's from the next county over from me and he personally brings attention to our lack of clean water.
Same here. For the last month or two
Delta Charlie no doubt Tyler is a great one. I also consider Colter Wall to be a masterful storyteller, if you haven’t already caught onto him.
It does...
Me too. His voice is haunting and painfull but I cant get enough

If Cobain had been raised in a coal town trailer park, this is what he would have been. So much grunge . I love this dude
Would love to hear the Tyler version of “Rape Me”
Not a cover, but his own original song

Tyler’s the truth
For anyone curious Tyler's from Appalachia (coal country) and our area has been devastated by job loss and the opioid epidemic.

Hes awesome. My favorite at the moment is I swear to God.

This song kinda smacked me a bit. Loved it. It's deep. And dude has pipes...
Birdman's Place Most of his songs are deep. He’s a true story teller. And it’s all personal experiences and he relates to what he sings.
@@andrewzimmer4015 You can definitely tell that by his emotion and expression as he sings.

Colter wall is another great folk country singer. His voice will blow you away.
Bro this is me right now got out of the military right when the pandemic happened and it’s definite hard times right now
I've been able to see him twice in the last year. He's made my "all music" top 10 list.
He is special, we rock the shit out of him here in Georgia...
You had me with the bills hat #billsmafia! Then I saw what you were reviewing! Childers is hair raising good. Never been one like him.

You're a cool dude Billy
You need to do a reaction to the song long violent history...
Coal, Bottle and Bibles, nose one the grindstone, lady may. House fire and White House fire are all great songs
And The Harvest.
Follow you to Virgie,, it will make a grown man cry, well at least one raised in the country with close friends and respect for their elders
Charleston Girl is another great one by him.
One of my favorites.
Also, Colter Wall.
His voice is actually haunting, you should do ‘shake the frost’ or his cover of ‘time’ by Pink Floyd
GO BILLS!
So if we are doing Tyler. Then i need Nose on the Grindstone
You should do Bottles & Bibles or Feathered Indians by Tyler Childers
Nathan Hurley bottles and bibles is so underrated! One of my favorites
Awesomeness!!

Love the Bills Hat. You got a like just for that.
nose to the grindstone. sure already been requested but dam the meaning behind it
Just a dude, a guitar and a couple mics, sounds so much better than anything on the radio.
