Why not asking the CEO to take unpaid time off
Nah the CEO will just leave and take the standard $50 million golden parachute. Consequences are for the poors.
Are they also asking the CEO to take a pay cut from his $16 million dollar salary? Probably not.
Of course it's not just pilots. If the airlines don't have planes, they'll need to cancel flights. Passengers won't be able to travel, and fares will go up.
Actually fares will go down.
So what about all the flight attendants & the other staff required to run an airline? They don't even mention those folks. Also, how about the United executives? Are they going without pay & bonuses?
Get ready for prices to increase too. Less planes to meet demand = sky high prices
Time off to search Indeed.
What a mess
Smart move...frustrate the pilots even more.
what about the desert of navada having 100's of boeing 767 aircraft on hold during the pandemic ??
Good question!
VTO. We have that also in Amazon.
Why doesn’t the gd ceo take a pay cut? Do they really hundreds of millions in salary plus stock options? Stop rewarding inept leadership
What say you, Pete Buttigieg?
I’m sure he’s on it right now
Trump signed two Executive Orders requiring the FAA to reduce oversight of the airline industry. This has nothing to do with the current administration.
You know these issues existed before Secretary Buttigieg came into office, right?
@@erauprcwajust the ripple effect of democrats wanting to shut down the economy.
Boeing is going the same direction as this once great country- downhill. And fast.
Hopefully lesser known airlines like Breeze, Jet Blue, Frontier, will take up the slack ?
Airbus is also having delays with airplane delivery. This is an industry wide thing. Not to mention we're in a slow down in hiring in the industry. This is once again a non-event news story just to drum up drama over something that is always seen in the industry. United isn't the only airplane doing time off for its pilots.
Yup…FedEx and UPS having to do the same thing
and that has nothing to do with Boeing...
UA the only airline with too few 737s and too many pilots, dig deeper CNBC?
This is fishy... so did they hire more pilots for the planes they didnt have yet? Did they retire planes from the fleet?
Not sure why they need to furlough pilots because of planes they never had. Smells fishy. Either way, rotate the pilots and let them rest up between flights and we will all be safer. It will also give them more time to nail flight attendants
Shirley not.
Don't call me Shirley...lol
I surprised that United Airlines has not gotten some of the Airbus a320’s that Alaska Airlines retired. Maybe not as fuel efficient as the Boeing 737 Max aircraft but better than nothing.
“Your chocolate rations have increased from 30 grams to 20 grams.”
I don't think it's a good idea to fly on a Boeing plane for the foreseeable future there's a new issue everyday with their current fleet.
You do realize that Airbus airplanes with Pratt and Whitney engines are having issues, including engine failures? Boeing isn't the only company with issues.
@@erauprcwayes but those planes with those engines are grounded till they’re repaired or replaced- whatever they’re doing with it. Boeing has constant safety issues. I wouldn’t go on one anymore. Thankfully I usually fly JetBlue so I’m good.
@@jbar_85 United's brand new A321 had to do an emergency landing due to an in-flight engine failure.
There was a door issue on one airplane. That doesn't show "constant" safety issues. The news reporting about a 20+ year old airplane losing a tire, has nothing to do with Boeing.
Has any of Boeings Planes been Certified 😂😂😂😂
Sounds more like they’re broke to me.
No bueno
Pilots should be trained to fly both Airbus and Boeing planes since they would become more valuable in the industry.
That's not how being a pilot works...
If you want to work at JetBlue or Spirit, you need to be able to fly an Airbus aircraft because they do not have any Boeing aircraft in their fleets.
@@arosenweig Yes, that's called getting a type rating for the airplane to operate at that airline.
Pilots cannot operate a A321 and a Boeing 737 at the same time. You can have a type rating on both airplanes, but that doesn't mean you operate both fleet types with said carrier.
I have multiple type ratings, but I can't fly multiple airplane types at my airline.
@@erauprcwaI think if you printed this in BOLD on the front of an aircraft most people still wouldn’t get it.
Airbus operators are doing fine 😅
Owing keeps proving the whistle blower right
Boeing***
Maybe United should switch over to Airbus and teach these pilots how to fly an Airbus aircraft with all the problems Boeing has been having.
It’s not that simple unfortunately. Aircraft orders aren’t like Amazon Prime where you can transition your fleet quickly. Aircraft being ordered now likely won’t be delivered until close to the end of the decade, making Airbus orders an unviable short-term fix.
Airbus is having issues too, but the news isn't reporting it.
@@erauprcwa what issues is Airbus having? I haven’t heard anything about their planes crashing.
@@kevingreen5793 First, Boeing hasn't had a crash since 2018. Second, Airbus is having supply issues also, delivering airplanes. Not to mention the issues with Pratt & Whitney engines causing airlines to have to ground their airplanes or having issues with engine failures...
United just got their first A321 neo and had an emergency landing due to a failed engine only a few weeks after its inaugural flight.
@@erauprcwa I did not hear about that but I’ll take your word for it. It’s seems like everyone is having supply chain issues and no one seems to be able to fix it.
i hate modern day aviation the aviation industry is practically dead now
Good for this crappy airline, heavily invested in boeing.
Anybody want to fly on the new Boeing airplanes?
United a Joke, unpaid time-Off 😂😂😂😂😂
I wouldn’t invest in Boeing but ok😂😂😂😂
Voyage to the bottom of America
Things just keep getting better at the Woke airline.
Trump signed two Executive Orders requiring the FAA to reduce its oversight of the airline industry. Nothing to do with being woke.
