That's okay. Hot Topic is trash anyway. It's so unorganized and disgusting. The walls are painted black and the lighting is always dim in every store. It's like the theme is Emo from 2007 myspace.

Only thing with this brand is it works better on bleached hair. On natural hair it tints it but doesn't stay very well.

To achieve the vibrant look, it is recommended that you have platinum hair.

I would love to see a tutorial on in unbleached hair. Mine is a light to medium brown and have been thinking of doing Poseidon and Neverland.
those colors won't show on light brown, neverland is a pastel and needs white hair. poseidon wouldn't really show up either, its not pastel but needs to have bleached hair still. purple rain would be your best bet for that color hair though ;)

Will the color still be vibrant if I slap on the dye straight from the bottle to my hair without bleaching it? I have black hair and I'm thinking of getting aquamarine on the lower part of my hair.
nope, I have black hair too and have made that mistake! it doesn't show up, for really vibrant colours bleaching your hair to a platinum blonde will do the trick but I'd recommend getting your hair professionally bleached because black hair needs a few bleaching sessions. :)
It would depend on the color of your hair. The lighter the hair, the more vibrant the color will be.

It may possibly show some colored highlights - it will depend on how porous your hair is.

When you're doing any colors like this, the fading is ugly.

I will get it from Hot Topic but one thing I don't like is that they price it way too high. I have to pay $12.50 for the 4oz bottle. If you add $1.50 I'm pretty much paying $14.00 (which is the price of the 8oz bottle on the arctic fox website) for half the amount of product and on top of that they barely have any colors to choose from. I went there looking for two bottles of purple rain and out of the 20 or 30 bottles they had, I only found one, just ONE bottle. It's ridiculous. I can't order it for reasons but honestly they should really change that. I absolutely love arctic fox and it's the only hair dye I will ever use (because it's amazing) but I just wish it wasn't so overly priced in stores.

Very unhappy with the message you are sending out, Hot Topic and Kristen Leanne. Also, majorly cringed at the sectioning and foiling techniques... just... very much house hair/nonprofessional XD we've all been there, BUT non-efficiency aside, you guys had a beautiful result and probably did a good job hiding spots, however that technique is like a game of Russian Roulette with darker colors.
I think you forgot to mention, how did the girl who is getting her hair color done get such an even, platinum blonde to start with? That's a nice, HUGE detail you forgot to mention to all the teen aged girls watching this and wanting unicorn hair. In the salon, I've seen way too many badly done house hair because inexperienced people bleach/lighten their own hair wrong or continuously, resulting in them having to come see me (a LICENSED PROFESSIONAL). I have to charge to pick up all the pieces (literally) of the damage it ensues doing one's own hair, and it's very frustrating because that makes us (the people who did years of school and training, and not to mention the passion for bright colors) the bad guys because of the "costs" to do so. Not to mention, lightening your own hair can be dangerous. Luckily for school, we got to practice with lightener on mannequins first, before ever trying it on a real person. And did you know your hair can be JUST like string cheese if you don't lighten your hair right or overprocess it?? It'll be very blonde, but there's absolutely no salvaging the hair after that point. Anyway, the thing is, while the bright colors can be harmless (unless you are allergic to them, of course) bleach is not. It's actually a fairly serious chemical up there with perms, relaxers, ect.
I am just a little disappointed you give people who do not know anything about hair false hope they can achieve something like this at home, without teaching them a thing or two about the most important step: the lightening process of the hair. (Not to mention, how light or dark the hair needs to be to achieve certain shades of color...) Cutting corners on price isn't always the smartest thing. Some of us are really passionate about this and do this for a living. Don't take away what an actual licensed professional can very easily and safely obtain. This stuff pays my bills! Don't undermine the professionals. Please.

To be honest, I have always done my hair, I don't have the money to go to an stylist and pay 200 dlrs for bleaching and dye. So i do it by myself, and I honestly have never been dissapointed... You know people can do it, they just need to research and inform themselves... My hair is really nice and I do go and get haricuts and even hairstylist have told me I have really nice texture, obvioulsy the fails are more known because it is what attracts people, but it is not impossible to do it yourself if you do some research on techniques, etc.
And I agree with the bleaching part, it can be dangerous if not handled properly but still, like I said If someone does their research correctly everything should be fine. And I get that you are passionate about it, cause I am too, but I have other passions as well that doesnt mean I cant do it myself.
