One of the things that gets me is that their producer, saw an 11-12 year old Suzuka Nakamoto (while she was part of Karen Girls) and said. I want to make a metal group with her as lead... And it worked. He thought her powerful vocals would not get lost in the intensity of the heavy music. I love Yui, Moa and Momoko but Babymetal would not be possible without Suzuka. What a extraordinary talent she turned out to be.
"She even moved with swag" is one of the things that really amaze me about Su. She said that it took her a while to find the right flow for the vocals to this song. But she didn't stop there, she took the time to analyze what character it takes to represent this song perfectly, and then she just became that character. I really admire the awareness, diligence and skill she must have to do that.

In an interview two or three years ago the first question they were asked "How are you feeling right now?" Moa's reply "Hungry, I need to eat fried chickens".🍗🍗🍗 They talked about 'BxMxC' in another interview. SU-METAL: That was my first rap experience. For most of my recordings up until now, I would sing “la la laa” to create a sort of vocal line, and then lyric writing began based on that. But it was different for this track, they had a backing track and lyrics, and then told me to try rapping. So at first I was still trying to figure it out. In hiphop they call it…it was like…ah, I forget! MOAMETAL: Wasn’t it…f-…fall? SU-METAL: Uh…what was it… KOBAMETAL (their producer): Flow? SU-METAL: Flow! (laughs) To get a feel for the flow, I made a lot of different attempts to figure out what would be good. Like how to descend and ascend in pitch, and which timing would be the best to try the pitch changes. Even for the same phrase I’d try going a little ahead of the beat or a little bit behind it, while keeping the whole track’s balance in mind. BABYMETAL live is always a step up from their studio recordings. A lot of fans didn't like this at all when they first heard it - "too many effects and autotune on Su's vocals" and they thought they could and would not play it live. Happily they were proved very wrong and Su kills it without the effects and autotune - and as you saw and heard for yourself this song hits hard live.🤘 It was not on the international release of the album, it was a Japan exclusive ... but they had it on the set list every night for the UK and Europe tour in 2020 and they took the roof off every venue with it. They are doing the same on the current US tour.
Even though you've listen to a great selection of Babymetal songs so far, you've actually missed most of the biggest fan favourites. You should probably give _Megitsune, Road of Resistance_ and _Karate_ a try next. And once you think you have Babymetal figured out, try songs like _Iine, Sis Anger_ or _Tales of the Destinies_ to be thrown for another loop🙂
Su has talked about the effort it took her to be able to do this song well. The official video of this song came out first, and it is really fun. No one seriously thought they would do it live. It has become a staple of their live performances where it bangs so much harder than the studio version.
We hadn't even got a video back then, just the album audio version, the official MV was released in October, 2020. According to Koba the Japanese version exclusive tracks (BMC and BBAB) were a last minute addition to the Metal Galaxy album. But I'm happy they not only played it at the Legend Metal Galaxy show but also made it a permanent setlist entry for the EU tour in February 2020, so I managed to see and hear it twice in person during the latter. P.S. According to the american kitsunes this song bangs like never before during the current Babyklok Tour.

It’s a pity that you reacted to a compilation video. Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. You would be better off checking out the official music video. 🦊🤘
