Casio Privia PX-S7000 - AFTER 1 YEAR OF USE [New Demo w/ Factory Sounds]

- Here's my update about the @casiomusicgear PX-S7000 after using it and abusing it for almost a year (almost every day)...
From recording for clients, sketching ideas, notating my sheet music, sampling sounds, composing, practicing advanced repertoire, you name it... this keyboard has become my main midi controller and the center of my studio. For the purpose of this video, I wanted to make a short composition using only sounds from the S7000 with very minimal processing in my DAW such as basic EQ and reverb to sit well in the mix.

You really manage to show what the px-7000 is capable of, (sold me the keyboard, haha!) Thank you for your great work!
Thanks for listening. More videos coming soon ...
A pleasure hearing you in your best mood. wow
Appreciate you.
🤯
Absolutely incredible Leon. Thank you so much. ❤
Thank YOU Mike :)
Love this update on the PX-S7000! Also that t-shirt is perfect😍😍
Thank you!!🤗
Under your fingers and control, it's a fantastic instrument.
Thanks a lot. It's a great instrument indeed.
I have no words.. you're amazing!! ❤
Oooppss...I almost missed this one. Awesome!!
Forget the keyboard, I love your compositions !!
Lol thanks man, love your work too!
thanks man, long time subscriber, ofc I pressed like on the video like u asked. I'm very inspired by the 6/8>5/8>5/8>5/8 chord progression with the piano sound. It's super clever@@LeonThomasian
@@YotamPiano wow I’m glad you noticed that, thank you. I was curious to see how many people would notice. Lol
So I mirrored the time signatures from first piano segment (crisp piano) which goes 5/8, 6/8, 6/8, 6/8 and then the Privia grand piano segment which goes 6/8, 5/8, 5/8, 5/8 :) and then stays that way for the rest of the tune.
yeah that was hip, I wouldn't think about doing something like this myself. I feel like my mind has been opened!@@LeonThomasian
that mustard color man it draws my attention immediately LMAO
Haha right? It’s mesmerizing 😆
That is some nice juxtaposition of meters there man! Love the arrangement!
Love this!
The compositions are awesome, I’m thinking of getting a digital piano, because I can’t go play at my friends house with an acoustic piano nearly often enough. I love the look and features of the 7k, but as someone with minimal to no musical experience, aside from noodling on a Steinway occasionally, I do wonder if it’s TOO much 😅😹
Righteous song dude.. 🤟
That's so cool!!! Im.from.Peru
great talent.
Man, i find your channel to see the casio (because i want a midi controller). But your compositions are amazing. Cheers!
You're so kind. Thanks a lot.
Hi Leon...thanks for your great videos! So, in your opinion, how does this piano function purely as a DAW controller as opposed to an electric piano and then overall. I've sort of been waiting for this update as I really like the reviews I'm seeing about this keyboard! Thanks from the UK.
Hey, so when I use it as a MIDI controller, I basically just stick a quarter inch adapter in the headphone jack to mute the sound and I start playing my virtual samples, love the sensitivity with the velocity and paired with a fader control surface, I can easily automate all my dynamics and midi CC parameters. Cheers!
Good video, even better if you spoke about what you liked about it, didn't like about it, things you'd change about it etc...you also said you can play "almost" everything...what are some of the things you can't play on it and why is that, I would love to know.
Thank you very much. I will definitely do that in another video.
Beautiful playing!
How do you think the s6000 compares to this one? Is there something you really love that the s6000 doesnt have?
Except the amazing design of course ;)
Sorry about the extended delay. They both have the same keybed. The S7000 has a few more Piano tones and also some buttons on the top panel, but other than that, they're pretty similar.
Composition playing, editing... everything top notch dude! Subed. Can you do a video and compose a 80's style or cyberpunk synth music. I really wanna hear how synths sounds with your fast playing style.
Thank you so much, I appreciate you! 🙏🏼 yes that sounds like a fun project. Do you want it to feature synths from the Casio?
@@LeonThomasian Whatever synth you like. I use Vital and Baby Audio BA-1.
@@dragonstone6594 nice! You should check out the synth stuff I’ve done with Twin from FabFilter ;) I think you’ll like them.

@@LeonThomasian Nice, very cool.

Hello!! Your new piece sounds just absolutely wonderful. I have a question regarding S7000 though, how did you record the piano's sound on daw with midi, while using its sound library??? I thought casio doesn't provide sound library for daw so just wondering.. Sorry if I sound very amateur:/
Sorry about the delay. So for midi, I just connect the keyboard to the computer through the usb cable. That's how I record midi. But for audio, I connected the output of the keyboard to my audio interface. Hope that answered your question.
Where can I listen to the audio only? I'm in love with this piece!
I'm working on publishing my music on Spotify one of these days hopefully. Thanks a lot.
Hi there. What happened to the VPC1?do you like this one more?
I ended up selling that one. I wasn't really using it anymore. Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful midi controller for a pianist, but it was hard for me to have it in my workflow. It's a bulky and the top panel has a curve, so you can't really use that top panel to rest the keyboard/mouse.
Hello Leon, I would like to know if this digital piano can be changed easily to a 432 hz? Thanks!
Yes, there are many different settings for that actually. You go to FUNCTION > Keyboard ... and there you can see multiple tuning options.
@@LeonThomasian sweet! Thanks for your reply 💚
how does this keyboard compare to VPC1? I'm considering one or the other
VPC1 has a better keybed but I sold it in favor of this one. I couldn't fit the VPC1 in my workflow. It's too deep and the top panel is curved, so you can't really rest your mouse or computer keyboard on top. Also, the S7000 has built-in sounds. So if I don't want to bother with sample libraries, I just use internal sounds to sketch ideas.
Do you like the key action?
I do. I got used to it in no time. Actually I used to have the VPC which is really the best midi controller for a pianist. I sold it because I had a hard time to make it work in my studio. What I love about the S7000 is the depth. It's a narrow keyboard with a flat top. It's so much easier to have this as a midi controller. It's almost impossible to do the same with the VPC1, as the top panel is not flat, so you can't really rest the computer keyboard and mouse on top of it for my particular use. I have no real issues with the keybed either.
