He has to be the most surprising contestant. I was just expecting him to be the comedic act but he is so good! And when he whipped out the guitar, I was just sat there with my jaw on the floor. Easily my favourite :)
He's plays a wild amount of instruments!
I thought he'd be the joke candidate too, but I breathed the massive sigh of relief when he got Oti. She is a fierce teacher and she will beat the dance into her pupil or die trying.
@@Harri_James Oti doesn't let her partner's be lazy. The "comedy" one is a Strictly trope that can die a quick death. She demands them to go as far as they can within their physical ability. Danny and Kevin are just her best examples.
He apparently plays lots of instruments- check out him on the Graham Norton show playing a Mandola- different from a mandolin

Oti and Katya manage to draw out the best from their partners. So many just dance around their partner and rag them around if they’re not so good but these two really make them work and move!
Oti just took her throne as Empress of the Galaxy! She is a miracle wonder!

Oti wouldn't have been able to do it without a partner who could follow her instructions, yes she is absolutely brilliant but lets not forget the absolutely fabulous Bill Bailey :D
He has got to be one of the most surprising contestants in strictly history, i have never seen anyone defy the expectations of people so much before. His shaping and Spanish line was *chefs kisses*. There was drama, build up, levels to the dance, packed choreography what more could we want. So far the best paso of the series - Bill could honestly become one of the front runners of the series.
Could Oti be the first pro to win back to back (lets be real she definitely deserves it) - time will tell. 9/10

I don’t know what Oti has done but she’s turned Bill to dare I say a contender!! I mean WHAT?! Shaping! Focus! Rhythm! It really had everything and deserved his nines.
Having said that the Spanish lines lacked a little impact but a real showstopper

Bill is rapidly becoming one of my favourites, this was brilliant! Probably my favourite dance of the night, I LOVE that Oti doesn't hold back when choreographing his dances and she's just the best teacher ever. I love this pair a lot!

Well hes worked for the BBC and channel 4 for year I'd imagine the producers knew him and knew he would tair it up the guy plays like every instrument and learns new ones in days imagine learning dance moves isn't that hard when you've got a natural rhythm

Bill Bailey on Strictly is everything I didn't know I needed! Oti is on another level choreography-wise. Easily the most engaging and entertaining routine of the night, loved it!
OMG. Myself and my husband were completely totally speechless of this brilliant Paso Doble by Bill and Oti. And we were totally surprised when Bill was playing the guitar which was really amazing. Got our votes. Bill and Oti should definitely make it through to the final.😀👍👍👍🌟
Going off the fact hes so musically talented, I just knew he was going to be good when he was announced to appear on the show and he has not let me down! I think music can get you far when it comes to dancing. Do his arms look odd? Yes. Is he ever going to look like a professional? Probably not. But my GOD hes good.
Yes!! This. I was so excited when I saw his name. So many people assumed he'd just be a comedy act, but he's proving he can dance too. Even if it's not technically perfect it will always be musical and on time, and we already knew he could perform.
Oti has a big role to play in this. She is an amazing teacher! She really transformed him like I knew she would!

That is actually a perception I don't have at all. As I couldn't dance ever, I have seen enough older people than me who could and could do it really well. :D Plus, there are enough pensionados who haven't un-learned dancing from when they were younger, surely? And no, 55 is NOT old to me. :D

I like it when the what was intended to be the joke act of the season starts to show potential and improves week on week. Anyone who starts out shaky but comes good in the end would get my vote over anyone who came out killing it from week one. Clearly a great partnering too.

Rhythm is a huge part of dance. He's an excellent musician, so it's no surprise he's great at this after a bit of work.
He and Oti make an extraordinary team! The tension, the movements, the rhythm it was all there and when he whipped out the guitar, that was awesome :D

I always loathe strictly come dancing but just watched that and that is something special.
I think they meant to give Oti Bill as a 'step down' from last year so she'd get out fast and not win again, like they seem to do a lot. But he's actually really good, I'm loving his dances haha.

I was expecting this to be AWFUL, but it was AMAZING
I'd been expecting the routine to use Clint Eastwood's famous poncho as a cape, and then when they didn't, I thought Oti would use her skirt as one, but in the end they did neither. Just shows you don't need to, and yet still hit all the paso images. Great routine and use of music.
BILL!!!!! OTI!!!!! WHAT!!!!!! The fact that this was the last dance of the night was great. The shaping was nice, the attack and the overall energy what suitable for Bill!! And the end stance was proper paso figure. Love the clean execution and a great way to end an awkward song choice movie night! *8.5*
Impressed that he’s taking this so seriously, other comedians have tried playing it for laughs and performed badly ( Brian Connelly springs to mind)

Well, “comedian” is just one of the things he does so very well.
Wow that was a surprise! Very good Spanish lines, good attack, wonderful musicallity, very good footwork especially at the Paso walk. He didn't miss a step, really enjoyed the violin part too. Oti really is such a good choreographer. Shaping does need some work but everything a Paso needs! Drama, passion, timing, storytelling. The music really did suit the Paso unlike Jason's. Bill's best dance yet. Contender for the Final and his personality is even better. *8/10*

But darn him for improving! They had yet to truly explore all the comedy potential we could have had with him vs Craig when the judges give out their scores! He's the truest comedian we've had on this show! He really knew how to play off the Funny Man to Craig's Straight Man (not that Craig is straight...)

The setting, costume and music for this dance were wonderfully atmospheric. Bill's authority and gravitas gave him a power over Oti that was very sexy. Really adult and classy.
He is a dream to watch. I laugh and cry all through his performances. He is so into it.
And here I was thinking I was the only doing the laughing and crying bit throughout his performances!!! What sets Bill apart, I think, is he just doesn't want to be told/shown steps, moves, and so on. He wants to know what the dance (such as the Paso tonight) is supposed to represent, what it is supposed to tell an audience. So he's learning dance moves but he'a also learning the theory. He will just get better and better because that's the kind of person he is -- all we have to do is look at his musical ability. Is there any instrument he cannot play? I know I'm the happiest SCD fan on the planet just having him there each week and I hope this goes on until the final when he and Oti will hoist the trophy.

YASSS Bill!! What a great Paso! He's actually so good, got natural rhythm and really studying the technique as well as nailing the character. Can imagine how even better he would look if his shoulders weren't so hunched and tight from a life of bad posture but Oti's definitely sorting it out! Loved the dramatic music and Oti's choreography, would actually really love to see two pros doing this, it would be so dynamic!

These two are just fantastic! I know a lot of people thought they would be a repeat of Ann Widdecombe and Anton, but they’re getting better and better each week. It would be a refreshing change to see them in the final!
