So.... you were wrong on both accounts. It's not gossip if they said it themselves.
Johannes’s star is shining this year. His choreography so far has been amazing. This pairing is outstanding, John must have been a dancer in a previous life. Absolutely stunning performance, I could watch these to dance all night. Fabulous.

They were perfect! Total synchronicity! You would never know only one was a pro dancer. It was like they were swashbuckling, but with dance rather than swords ⚔! Johannes is a personal favourite of mine anyway. This early on, the level is insane!

My son has a learning disability and wasn't really paying attention when I watched strictly last night, but when this dance came on he was glued to the screen and afterwards he clapped, cheered and gave me a high five. We rewatched it three or four times. Brilliant dance.
Agreed, he is generous and intelligent. It shows in his choreography and the way he teaches his partner. The two other pro dancers I admire for their teaching are Kai and Graziano.

He is definitely far better than he thinks. He's so humble in the training videos and never overly confident. Yet he always brings out these phenomenal, dare we say almost professional, routines. Credit to both of them.
I never expected John to be as good as he has been to be honest. They're certainly the favourites to win but as we all know, one bad week could see them in the dance off and from there anything could happen

*_OH MY GOD!!!_* I am a massive Paso Doble fan, it is my favourite dance style, and, no lie, John and Johannes have done the best Paso I have ever seen on Strictly ever! What a perfect way to close they show, they couldn't have chosen a better one! They almost got a 40 soooo soon and that would have been more than deserved. I almost cried. It moved me so much! John was everything Johannes wasnted to be, everything he said he wasn't. He was powerful, fierce strong, and very intense! There was so much creativity in this that came from the ability to switch roles. So much more that they could do. But so much more to learn. What a hard worker John is! Like, wow! He looked like a genuine pro. Completely in sync, he mimicked Johannes perfectly! Every move was danced and performed with perfection! I loved Catherine and Caroline, but John is absolutely his best partner. They have poured their hearts into these dances because they can truly be themselves. It really means a lot to them and it shows! God, it gave me chills! I have never been this touched by a Strictly dance that I can remember. I'm still thinking about it! This is what inspires dancers! What inspires me! It really is dances like these that make you wanna be the ones dancing. You can just feel all the emotions embodied, and you want that feeling. They truly embodied the Paso Doble. This had better go down in history!! Oh, John, he did himself so proud. This is a finals level dance. If he keeps this up, he could see himself in the finals.
Awesome - didn’t think I’d like this alternative approach to ballroom but by far the most striking and powerful routines have come from these two. It’s like two lead dancers creating a masterly display. I am only watching again on UA-cam cos it was so good. All three dances they have had so far have been phenomenal.
I'm really not convinced about Rhys. He did well this week as he is trained in street dance, but I thought his previous ballroom and latin dances were awkward-looking and jerky. He needs to realise that moving fast does not mean moving well.
@@bnanaaasbrown9529 he’s similar to Karim was in a way, but Karim was able to control and utilise that energy more and was amazing. Rhys hasn’t been able to do that yet, making it just look too jumpy and forced.
I do agree with the fact that Rhys is probably the least refined of the 4 listed, but I think because of his energy, he stands a very good chance to be able to channel that into a dancer who would be comparable to Karim. With that, I think if the folks listed above are going to be going far into the competition, so long as they are able to sustain the trajectory that they are following, and that's the hard bit... 👍
This is one of my favourite Strictly Paso dobles ever. It has all the drama , intensity and passion that I look for and as a bonus they look great too.

I have said for YEARS that this song(my fave song) would be PERFECT for a Paso and I have waited and waited for it to happen on Strictly and it did, with Peter Andre and he flopped it. WOW. there is just no words in the current English language that does justice at how insanely amazing that dance was. I will be watching that so many hundreds of times in the future
This is easily one of the best dances I've ever seen. Promenades beautiful, shanee turns excellent, gorgeous spanish lines, fantastic timing on the side by side section, perfect jette, beautiful spanish shaping, lovely running promenade pivot! I could go on forever. John totally got the stalking walk and the softness in the knees, the characterisation was beautiful, it was choreographed so well. John has just took Jay's place for best week 3 dance ever heare and this was easily the best dance of the night. I'm overwhelmed with how good that was, you're not supposed to dance like that. Tonight it flowed and so mich more time in hold, looked absolutely clear! FAB-U-LOUS think we've found this years winners 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥! *10/10* one of the best pasos ever too
By far the best dance of the night. It was complete mesmerising & my wife told me I stopped breathing watching it. lol John is a good dancer but he's also very powerful & this dance showcased that perfectly. This is a match made in heaven.
Wow...amazing choreography!! Exciting dance moves, I like their outfits, their strong arms up like white swans, I absolutely love this!! Their romance should go on for a long long time, both are young and energetic! Kudos!!
This was an interesting take on a Paso, it was a battle and I'm here for it. Lovely strong lines, plenty of attack and the switching lead worked really well in the routine. John looked a bit stiff in his back, there were times where his shaping could have been improved, but dancing the Paso with this level of command, strength and commitment, is remarkable. I really enjoyed this.
MsGrockle...weren't they good! I was transfixed. I mean, week 3!!! There are a couple of real standout couples at the moment. I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this season so far! 😊

Out of countless versions of Pirates of the Caribbean theme dance routines done on Strictly Come Ballroom & Dancing with the Stars franchise, John & Johannes’s version is the best POTC routine I’ve seen thus far in the franchise. It’s a stunning, badass routine. Bravo Gentlemen! 👏👏👏👏👏
I still prefer Riker and Allison's for Dancing with the Stars but this is definitely my favorite one from Strictly. Way better than Brian and Sharna.
I have said for YEARS that this song(my fave song) would be PERFECT for a Paso and I have waited and waited for it to happen on Strictly and it did, with Peter Andre and he flopped it. It wasn't good and so disappointing. I think I cried because I've always wanted to see a DAMN GOOD paso danced to this song and....

This is easily one of the best dances I've ever seen. Promenades beautiful, shanee turns excellent, gorgeous spanish lines, fantastic timing on the side by side section, perfect jette, beautiful spanish shaping, lovely running promenade pivot! I could go on forever. John totally got the stalking walk and the softness in the knees, the characterisation was beautiful, it was choreographed so well. John has just took Jay's place for best week 3 dance ever heare and this was easily the best dance of the night. I'm overwhelmed with how good that was, you're not supposed to dance like that. Tonight it flowed and so mich more time in hold, looked absolutely clear! FAB-U-LOUS think we've found this years winners 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥🔥! *10/10* one of the best pasos ever too

By far the best dance of the night. It was complete mesmerising & my wife told me I stopped breathing watching it. lol John is a good dancer but he's also very powerful & this dance showcased that perfectly. This is a match made in heaven.

Wow...amazing choreography!! Exciting dance moves, I like their outfits, their strong arms up like white swans, I absolutely love this!! Their romance should go on for a long long time, both are young and energetic! Kudos!!
Ok but beyond this perfect dance the live band did a fantastic job
This was an interesting take on a Paso, it was a battle and I'm here for it. Lovely strong lines, plenty of attack and the switching lead worked really well in the routine. John looked a bit stiff in his back, there were times where his shaping could have been improved, but dancing the Paso with this level of command, strength and commitment, is remarkable. I really enjoyed this.
MsGrockle...weren't they good! I was transfixed. I mean, week 3!!! There are a couple of real standout couples at the moment. I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this season so far! 😊

It was fabulous, but I must agree with you. At the very end, it would have been better if John lifted his arm like Johannes did. I hope they can dance this again in the final, to perfection.

@@marino27m They did, but it wasn't an Argentine Tango. Ballroom Tango has a certain step routine that they have to follow, but the Argentine is a freestyle dance. Can't wait to see it if/when they do one 🙂

John and Johannes plus AJ and Kai are my favourite couples but overall, this year is one of my favourite Strictly series because there’s no bad couples. Even though Judi doesn’t have technical skills and Ugo has zero rhythm, overall, every week the performances are just getting better. This performance was phenomenal 👏🏽👏🏽
