  • A simple sturdy model. The Hornby Railroad J83 has been in the Hornby range for many decades. To my knowledge, this is the last version published of it.
The model itself shares the very popular Hornby 0-6-0 chassis coupled with a Type M (also known as Type 7) motor. It is a very common motor that can easily be overloaded. Fortunately, this model doesn’t have any traction tires so this is less of an issue. The up side of the Type 7 motor is that it is very cheap to replace if it burns out and also the performance is generally decent.
No NEM coupling on this model and it is not DCC ready, although there is space inside to fit a hardwired decoder. I would say this model has many dated features in that sense. there is also no cab detail and the motor is visible.
BUT... for what it is, I like it. It is just a simple model to enjoy and it doesn't have any major flaws. The livery, although simplified, is well applied and crisp. Performance are good and the general looks is pretty good.
I have 100s of locomotives in my collection. Let me know in the comments what type of loco or rolling stock you would like to see next.

    Enjoy!

No space for one! It is actually the very reason I started this chanel so I could enjoy my collection. Sharing it with all of you is fun I even if I cannot have a layout in my current tiny home. I'm looking for some idea on how to show performances while keeping the same smooth video rhythm maybe for the future or if I can move in a larger house. If there is any models you want to see, let me know and I will try to fulfill it! Thanks for watching :)

@@leewaymodels You could have a small straight Layout on a Shelf - just going forwards & backwards...🤔🚂🚂🚂

I'll re-do some tests. I've been struggling to find the right way of doing it without changing the flow of the filming and video.
