Not only Street Fighter. Several Fighting games have taken some inspiration from Jojo characters. Like King of Fighters' Benimaru looking almost exactly like Polnareff.
The reason there are multiple variants is to me nothing else but to give the viewer an intense feeling of hype, and to also not spoil things. For example in one of the openings it showed the MC fighting a silhouette but in it's variant they showed who the silhouette belonged to aswell as their ability by interrupting the intro. Usually these variants appear in the last couple of episodes maybe even just the final episode. So it's pretty cool that they redo the visuals to accomodate one event in the story when they don't HAVE to do it.
Others have noted that Jojo inspired Street Fighter, I just feel its pretty important to note that Jojo is actually one of the most referenced series ever, because of its sheer longevity and popularity it gets call outs in a huge amount of japanese, pan-asian, and even american media after it finally got translated.
The variantions in JoJo openings occurr because of plot, for people that watch the show without skipping openings, if something huge is happening in the show then it will happen in the opening, giving surprise and also keeping tension for the episodes.
Most anime: let's capture the themes of the show in our openings. But no spoilers. Jojo: let's spoiler the entire season, but give absolutely zero context.
2:28 "Ooh! It's like it's coming from the manga!" You're so right there. When the first season of the anime came out in 2012, it had been excactly 25 years since the manga started coming out in 1987, being extremely famous in Japan but somehow not having recieved an anime adaptation yet. So this first opening has this constant manga-to-life aspect as a way of saying "yes, this is actually happening" to the fans lol. Even the start of the opening shows many things from future Parts going back to Part 1 with that punch. It's really cool in my opinion, it really feels as them acknowledging how big of a thing this is
The variant openings are usually when something big or climactic happens, so the opening updates according to the story. And yeah, there's a Street Fighter vibe because a handful of fighting game characters are based on Jojo characters (Guile/Strohiem, Rose/Lisa-Lisa, Benimaru/Polnareff). And speaking of fighting games, Jojo has a handful of them, with the latest one having over 50 characters. They even revealed a new DLC character recently, but that character is a walking manga-spoiler, so heads up on that.

idk if you've started to watch the show yet by now, but! The series follows a family lineage, which is why, if you look, a lot of our protagonists have similar features (dark hair, bright green/blue eyes, That nose shape, etc.) So the hero of part two is the grandson of part one's hero, then we follow his grandson after that, etc. Also, part 4's intro (CRAZY NOISY TOWN aka the most colorful and, as you said, "feminine" one) is so different because the tone of that part was a lot lighter than the previous parts! It still gets into some wild shit, don't worry about that, but overall it's a less dark kind of "break" from the usual in the series at that point lmfao.
oh also, part six, the part that's mostly women, is mostly women because it follows a daughter of the family line for the first time, and takes place in a women's prison! So that's why there are so many ladies.
At the end of the last opening when you said they were throwing back to the first part, The line of each of the main guys and then to the last one being Joylene (the girl) are the joestars, the bloodline that has some of the biggest haters.
(Gigantic comment, sorry!) JoJo takes place across 9 parts, each with a different cast of characters. 6 of them have been animated, the 9th is currently in progress. It's dramatic, its flamboyant, its gorey, and the title is accurate. It's very much people vs people, you don't often fight otherworldly beings in this show (thats kind of a lie). The "spirits" are called "Stands", and they get introduced in the third part, so you won't need to know about them until you get there. It's kind of a rule in the Jojo fan base to never skip the openings when they come on because of the variants. Also, the manga has been going on for about 40 years now (and has more pages than One Piece I think), and the creator Hirohiko Araki's style very much evolved over the years. The anime tries to represent this by changing the style every season (parts 1 and 2 are both season 1) to match the artstyle of the manga. Araki is what is referred to as a "westaboo", basically somebody not from the west that loves western culture, like fashion and music. The outro scenes all use pre-existing songs by western musicians that he listened to while writing or thought fit the vibe (Roundabout by Yes, Walk Like An Egyptian by The Bangles, Freak'n You by Jodeci etc.) He even names characters after musicians/bands, songs and albums. It's a crazy series, I hope you get into it!

My favorite is in the first version of Traitor's Requiem, when the blood is dripping at the end of the song onto the ground from a finger. Absolutely no one notices that there's a glitch effect, and the blood goes from three to about ten drops out of nowhere. This was a hint at what the villain's power is placed right in the opening.
