Amazing, in a way,..although it isn't rocket science, I know, but what is the length of the boom and stick on this Cat 324, and what is the capacity of the bucket.? I see below, that you finished it in a 7 hr. day,..any idea of the number of cycles you made?
well it had 60' of reach. 1/2 yard bucket. 2 scoops a min on average. 60 yards a hour, moved 100- 120' in distance. don't take to long when u only have a 250-300 yards or so
There's a reason long reach excavators have small buckets.... They can't handle the weight of a loaded larger bucket that far out. It's the price you pay to be able to work that far away from the seat.
I really appreciate your description in the beginning of the video because without it I would've been lost I really appreciate that please do that and more of your videos if you don't mind I have a 320 D but it's 1/16 scale
Do you need much time operating a different machine to get the hang of that particular machine? I know an identical unit can operate with minor differences. Do you have much time spent in adjusting to some machines?
+Joel Magee a good operator doesnt take much time to adjust. All excavators operate pretty much the same. Same with all machines. Its like asking someone how long it takes to adjust from a Buick to a Ford.
Good seeing these old videos that show up

letsdig18 if it wasnt mud it would have been a cool use of a conveyor belt. it would just feed right into the trucks like nothing.
Very smooth. I can agree on a long day! I would not be able to hold my attention to detail for 7 hrs doing that.
Let's dig, where do you work? Southern US? Where I am, everything is under feet of snow still.
did you rent this one from Gregory Poole? if so I might have splattered it with mud yesterday dredging out the run-off pond there!
Why do they have a concrete wall all the way around?
for max water storage, it can fill within 6" of the top
Ahh ok is that water stored for a particular purpose like firefighting or is it just a regular storm pond?
What do you thing of the Cat long reach compared to the others that you rented?

Got to get 3 of those babies to make some practice and hire me frpor the day just got to get a flight out of New Jersey.

like emptying a pool with a spoon
ows the cat handle compared to some of the other long reaches youve operated?
def the smoothest as far as hydraulics, don't like the cab
wouldn't it be easier to build a dirt ramp downwards at the edge of the pond, dig/ haul it out with loaders and then remove the ramp?
it was easier to just dip it out like this. we had it clean to solid ground in 7 hours.
+letsdig18 That is a good time with that smaller bucket. Plus the ramp that Kitsune suggested would be at least day job at best
How many operators does the company have?
your looking at all 3 of them!
Thanks

How many truck loads did it take to get that thing to the job site?

Looks like you could have used a bucket larger then that spoon lol
That is kinda tinny bucket on there.
Why do you run at 9 not 10?
video spoiled by the reflections on the glass
Why dont u just buy a long reach
