Coming from HYLT, I enjoy this one a lot. The way they sang, the mixing, the beat, the visuals - (THE LYRICS lol, I didn't expect that) - I enjoyed them and got a kick from them. Selena did work as well, she was pleasing to listen to as well. I'd give this one an 8.5/10 - after a few more listens I wonder how much I'll play this one. This one gave me quite the bit of anticipation for their project that will come out later aha. What do you guys think?
it felt like it was more selena ft. blackpink and the fact jisoo got 6 seconds doesn’t sit right with me but overall i really liked it plus the mv was pleasing
mv was really cute but some of the lyrics made me 😳🥴. the vocals were good but i just didnt like the instrumentals. that 3 notes/beat (2 different notes) pattern in the background got annoying as it was played throughout the entire song.
my only "complaint" is that if lisa can rap a little not in english then why cant jisoo for singing? idk guess im biased😅
Hi Anthony. For me, I enjoyed this one a lot too because if they release another one like the powerful releases they did. It sound and looks refreshing. I expected the content of the song so I'm not disappointed. And talking about the sensuality of the lyrics, I'm quite shocked but I don't care really because they are all matured woman. They know what they were doing. I hope this song doesn't get many hates because people nowadays are so confusing. Anyway, I hope you're excited for Treasure's Chapter 2 coming coz I AM SUPER EXCITED! LOL

i feel like i can't compare HYLT to this because they're just two completely different styles. i personally loved HYLT and as for this, it was interesting to me on the first listen since it wasn't what i was expecting but the more i listen, the more i like it :) love the visuals in the M/V, all 5 of them look STUNNING and selena honestly felt like a 5th member of BP even tho she didn't film with them! and the beat is cool and well-produced w/ a pretty strong western vibe rather than k-pop. i'm looking forward to the stages and how they will fill selena's parts in her absence!! overall, this was a cute, refreshing collab!
This is like the opposite for me. When i first listend to HYLT I didnt really like it but it grew on me but this ice cream I loved at first listen.

Yoh, i know many are disappointed that Jisoo has few lines but if you'll be listening to it on repeat, you'd be singing her part coz it's stuck on your head. And yes, a lot are also disappointed that Jennie did little rap, but yo, all Lisa did was rap and no singing parts. So I guess it's pretty fair. Who knows, maybe on the comeback for the album, main rapper Jennie will slay on their title track.
So, imo, this song is great and the balancing and mixing is great. I like this better than sour candy, tbh. Guys, let's just enjoy this gift for us.

So if someone tries it and it doesn't feel right, they will try it to another member. And if this is how they released it, then it means they totally agreed on whatever arrangement for their songs.
Lisa doesn't NEED to sing unless she doesn't rap. However Jennie is a rapper first before she's a singer. , been 2 year. That's what you call fair? And Jisoo does need more lines just because her one line is stuck in YOUR head doesnt mean it was enough to make an impression on everyone, especially new fans.

And also, if we would follow the collab from kiss and make up, chaesoo will share the lines of selena if they're going to sing it live. So i hope they would do so.

I have enjoyed BP since their debut in 2016 and I will say the song is ok. I personally prefer their older songs. Not being overly critical here because many of the groups I really like also release songs that I do not necessarily enjoy or isn’t pleasing to my musical taste. B sides are often my favourites.
I am proud of my favourite- Jisoo with her English in this track. She did so well. Her vocals on previous work a gem! She isn’t just a visual!

i’ll say the obvious, i wish they gave jisoo more lines, she doesn’t even have half a verse...it feels more like selpink ft. jisoo. it would have been nice if they added something more to the instrumental or switched it up after a little bit (not just at lisa’s part), but i do like the song a lot more than hylt
half a verse with some good flavor tho! if we're being fully obvious it felt like selena gomez and lisa ft. jennie and rose and adlibs from jisoo :/ i feel it tho! switched up would be cool and a bit less repetitive to add some more flavor.

This song has been more conflicting for blinks suprisingly. Line distribution and main rapper jennie being the forefront of concerns, but damn this song was left field of anything we expect from a BP song. Wished jisoo or rose had more lines, and that last rap set from Lisa could've been a different set of lyrics or even Jennie rapping to close out the song before the chant! Great comeback though, this one's getting pushed out west too.

I was quite disappointed when almost half way thru the song Jisoo STILL didn't get a line. She did get a short verse, but I don't understand why they couldn't give her another verse, even if it would have been in korean... I am quite disappointed about that... Hoping that Jisoo will be able to shine more and compensate for the lack of lines in this collab in The Album. Ice Cream is a good song and a very well done collab. Congrats to BP and Selena... this song surely will blow up! Also, I really love the chorus especially when I first heard Rosé sing it and Selena's lines and delivery were perfect too! Jenlisa did amazing and Jisoo was gorgeous and adorable. I also liked her verse... I just wish she was able to showcase her vocals and unique tone of voice more in this song but oh well... more coming to look forward too! I also don't want to complain because it's a miracle that we even got an MV for this song. Also, I understand that it's kind of hard to fairly distribute lines when there are so many producers, writers (Ariana Grande being one of the cowriters), collaborators on one track. All the girls did amazing tho!

i think most blinks are blaming teddy since he’s mainly the one who seems to decide line distribution and Jisoo having less lines is a common thing throughout their music. idk why he doesn’t care to showcase Jisoo vocally but it’s really noticeable in this song that they didn’t put much effort in including her

I feel like people liked ice cream more than HYLT because the vocal line moved more pitch-wise if that makes sense. Ice cream was more singing whereas HYLT is more half sung half spoken. They’re both different styles and the girls both did an amazing job on them. 😊 I personally like songs with a more diverse instrumental background, but this song is still a bop hehe.

Idk but this song was very disorienting for me (not visually, heavens no, the girls and the sets looked great). I may be trippin’ but the instrumental sound track and the way they sing sounds “off”? Don’t get me wrong that may have been the purpose of it- to keep you on your feet and actively listening because you never know where it’s going to end. I’ll just have to listen to it a couple of time to see if that will change.

as of right now i don't love it but i don't hate it either. lisa's verse was fire and the ending got me more into it for sure. i honestly don't know, like i can't really find anything wrong with it but for some reason i just didn't like it that much. but with HYLT it was the same, i didn't like it at all but after listenting to it again and again i grew to really love the song, and i really enjoy it now. so i'm hoping it's the same for this one and honestly i'm sure it will be, that after a couple more listens it'll grow on me and i'll like it as much as i like HYLT.
and of course there's the fact that they gave jisoo such little lines, sad. will never make sense to me. blackpink has 4 fucking members it shouldn't be that hard to give her more. if lisa gets 2 rap verses then they can afford to give jisoo more, don't get me wrong i love lisa, she's my bias but it just doesn't make sense to me. make it make sense.

It took a couple repeats to like the song. It's cute, absolutely different from HYLT! . Both songs Jennie doesn't rap at all. I find that weird....I do like her rapping more than her vocals. ... Rose is lead vocal, yet Jennie becomes lead vocal in both songs and Lisa becomes lead rapper. I dont know how I feel about that. I luv all members but I'm partial to Rose. Visually it's top tier compared with their other MV and verbal content way more solid than HYLT. Selena parts is good, a nice change up from her usual.
