    Remember to use twice the shutter speed as the frame rate you are using when shooting video in manual. For instance: 1/50 if you’re shooting at 24fps and 1/120 when shooting at 60fps. Also called the 180 degree rule. Tips and techniques.

    10:03 That's a flat lie, RP doesn't feature stabilization for shooting stills. The IS on this camera is available for video mode only. For stills you have to rely on lens IS.

      He's probably playing (voluntarily) dumb with the fact that he's got the 35 IS mounted on the camera, and so it's like "the RP is fully capable in taking advantage of the lens great IS system", just he said not in a proper way, and I'm sure he's well aware of it, to trick you in believing that the camera has some sort of stabilization itself, which is of course a total lie. I wouldn't have expected this kind of sleazy marketing tricks from Canon, that's usually more like Sony.

    • @SpencerATX

      When using manual focus with Non-RF lenses (any adapted glass) you get focus peaking which works really well, but you do not get the focus guide (focus square which shows with triangular symbols how close you are to achieving focus).

    • @harrison00xXx
      @harrison00xXx 2 роки тому +1

      you need R3 or R7 for eye focus on birds, but i would not think it would even work with fast, smaller birds at all, be happy with regular AF at fast flying birds or just invest at least 3x, better 5-6x the amount the RP costs!

    His description of touch and drag "positioning method" was next to useless and he not only chose by far the worst option, but he didn't even explain what the 2 methods actually do.
    If you choose "RELATIVE", while looking through the EVF you can touch the screen ANYWHERE within your chosen "Active Touch Area" and the AF point will start moving from WHERE IT IS to anywhere you drag it. It moves relative to where you move your thumb on the screen. So you could touch the middle of your active touch area, top or bottom of that area etc. and the AF point still moves from where it is to where you drag it to.
    ABSOLUTE makes the active selection area an absolute representation of the frame, meaning if you touch the bottom left of the active touch area, the cursor jumps to the bottom left, instantly, for example. Touch the centre of the active touch area and the cursor jumps to the centre of the frame This is a nightmare in real-world use. Imagine the AF point is somewhere at the top right and you want to move it a small distance to the left. You are looking through the EVF and cannot possibly precisely touch the screen where the AF point is.... so you happen to touch it somewhere lower left... the AF point immediately jumps to lower left in the frame. You only wanted to move it a small distance to the left, now you have made it jump way over to the bottom left and have to move it a much further distance to the right and upwards to place it where you wanted it. Using Relative, you could have touched the screen anywhere in the active touch area and moved the AF point slightly to the left, where you wanted it, without the cursor suddenly jumping to somewhere else.
