    It powers also from a usb powerbank or mains. There is a mic muffler, lens hood and case pack that can be bought. Also a BCQ-2n Battery pack which takes 4 AAs.

    If you're going to do any lengthy video recordings, best to power it through the USB port with a cell phone charging bank.

      But if the connection is disturbed the camera will shut off...

    • @GenerationXT
      @GenerationXT 6 років тому +3

      Not if you have a good set of batteries in the camera. It will simply switch to the internals, then switch back when the connection is restored. Yes I've tried it.

      I just found out about the faulty usb. If you own a Q2n, they will replace it with the new Q2n4k model whether it’s under warranty or not. I just did it

    Unless I missed it below (comments) ....I use this recorder with a direct power source....no batteries. I plug in a conventional phone charger plug (Samsung) and run the recorder non stop for hours. There are two slots on the side..one for HDMI and one for a power source or file transfer...plug in a standard phone charger and run the unit. Great little device...too bad they don't make it anymore. Not sure there's a big demand for the new 4k model. I use it mainly to record gigs.

    There seems to be a lot of confusion through this video about model numbers. It states that audio is recorded with "Zoom H2n Mic" whereas you can telll from the handling noise that in fact, it's recorded unsing the Zoom Q2N itself (which is rather more useful than recording with a device not under review). Might be worth re-editing to deal with that confusion.

      You are right Peter! Thanks for noting that. It should've said Zoom Q2N - not the Zoom H2N. Thanks again! Sorry for the confusion!

    Use Energizer Lithium AA for video recording with max settings and you’ll get a solid 4hrs if you must use batteries.

      I think you can use a Powerbank /battery pack to the usb.

      roberto carmona You cab and don’t even need the batteries installed when using a usb battery bank. A 6,000 mah bank gets me almost 8hrs record time.

    How does the audio compare to that of the Samsung Galaxy S6 phone?

  • @MatthewFordVictoria

    To deal with Glare from lights or the sun, I'VE GOT THE ANSWER!!!! All you need is Velcro Strips with an Adhesive Backing. As the lens sticks out about 1/8th of an inch, apply a narrow strip of the fuzzy velcro completely around the lens. Then using a flexible plastic lid, cut it to the shape of the letter D, creating a shade similar to those on Traffic Lights. Apply a strip of prickly Velcro to the flat edge, and apply it to the fuzzy velcro! Bingo!!! How expensive was that?

    Can I use it to record Gigs at a Club? They have very loud music out there, will it sound good? I want to hear the music, as well as the crowd in the Video.

    • @typhoolin

      Absolutely! It has a mode called "Concert Mode" which automatically sets the built-in mic's gain for high decibel rock! I've used it numerous times to record my 80s band LIVE at clubs - and the resulting audio quality is surprisingly excellent. The only way the audio could sound any better would be to take a direct feed out of the mixer - assuming that everything on stage is mic'd. Even in that scenario (where all instruments are feeding into a pro mixer) you could take the stereo output (from mixer) and run that into the Zoom Q2N. It's extremely versatile. I rarely use the video feature because it chews up batteries like a Great White Shark. But for audio-only recording, 2 AA batteries last for something like 10 hours. Even if you don't need the camera and video portion, this product is still almost untouchable when it comes to bang for your $$. A+ rating from me!

    It is seem that you not familiar with SD card memory. (popular use on mobile phone around the world) let try it. 128 gb. so cool.

      Yes it does - via 3.5mm MiniMic Stereo Connection - like an iPhone Headphone type connection

    I have windows 10 so should I download the handyshare 32 or 64 bit software

    • @typhoolin
      @typhoolin  5 років тому

      Not sure if I'm understanding your question - but I believe ALL Windows 10 based systems are 64 Bit. Therefore you would download the 64 Bit Version.

    Any app we can connect to the iPhone and use as a remote? Thankss

    • @typhoolin
      @typhoolin  5 років тому +2

      I don't think so. That would require Blutooth or some type of wireless connectivity..... which this model doesn't have. Maybe a future model will have that capability. I believe certain models of GoPro Cameras have that capability.

    How do ya use the trim function ?

    • @typhoolin
      @typhoolin  3 роки тому +1

      Not sure on that one. Are you talking about "trimming" the audio clip WAV files that are being recorded to SD Memory Card? If I want to do that - I just pop the SD Memory Card into a PC and edit the WAVE files using Audacity software - which is FREE for Mac and PC users. Then Export edited version of WAVE file to PC or SD Card, or SoundCloud or wherever you want to take it from there.

    When I play back video, its going hyper fast? Any ideas?

    • @typhoolin
      @typhoolin  4 роки тому

      Sorry for the long delay in responding. I'm not sure and rarely use this device for video. Almost 100% of my use is for audio-only recording. I prolly should have ordered the audio-only model - but figured I might need the video capability at some point.... but as you saw here, video quality is just ok, not great. I would recommend contacting Zoom Tech Support.
