He doesn't just know the play, he knows the game, and the exact consequences of the outcome of the game.
These are fun. Just make you appreciate just how much better the CBS announcing teams are than their competitors. Harlan, eagle and Nantz are all head and shoulders above their peers. And I'm still grumpy that Harlan isn't calling MNF.
He does call Monday night football, but on the Radio side.
CBS' coverage is so, so much better than Fox
Brown, hurdles, KICKS A MAN
Holy crap his memory is insane.
Ian Eagle has always been my favorite play by play guy for March Madness games. He’s always great. Not too much fluff, no bias. I hope he keeps calling games across all sports for as long as possible
Wow! That Eagle has the clear bird’s eye!
Please keep doing these! I could watch these all day!
Ian nailed this
Ian Eagle will be the perfect replacement for Jim Nantz if Nantz ever retires from doing football.
He both has really good calls, and he knows his history.
"Oh, what a fake, off the stutter step, LAMAR JACKSON! Jackson still going! OH! LAMARKABLE!"
Seriously impressive
One of my favorites from Ian.
"Shotgun. Murray, out of the pocket. 7 seconds. 6 seconds. Murray, heaves it down field... It is... Oh it's caught! It is caught! DeAndre Hopkins! Miraculous! It's Murray Magic!"
The fact that Ian does multiple sports and STILL remembers the play by name, the score, the teams, and even the playoff implications is just incomprehensible!
"Gronkowski didn't have the angle"
... and the ankle ;)
Eagle and Harlan are some of my faves. Enjoyed these vids
Please do this with all your commentators. This was an amazing video.
"He's got Hill! He's got Hill!"
MORE PLEASE. THIS IS AWESOME
Ian Eagle’s first NFL TV game
1998 Week 1
MIA-IND
Dan Marino vs #1 overall pick Peyton Manning
In the stands was papa Archie & little brother Eli
Love this guy!
Ian is a legend
Hope you did some with the lesser-known guys like Spero Dedes and Andrew Catalon. They've both had some awesome calls over the years.
You’re going to get a lot of Tank Bowls
@@mjwatts1983 MANY AFC South games
If the NBA came back to CBS, Ian or Kevin Harlan would be the #1 announcer.
true but highly unlikely to happen before they retire but anything is possible
Behold, my favorite commentator in American sports.
We need to get Kevin Harlan and Ian Eagle into the same booth, they'd play off each other SO WELL
This is so impressive, holy
I'm surprised that they didn't use the Antonio Brown Karate Kick call! This is what MAKES Ian Kevin Jim FUN to listen to and work with!
1:26 I miss The Bird & The Beard pairing
3:18 bro. That miami miracle play still haunts me up to this day
Loved that game. If you do it again, would be cool if you didn't show the play at first. Even though it's blurred, you can still get a fair amount of clues from it.
Can you do one for Catalon and Dedes?
It’s crazy how many more iconic commentators the NFL has compared to the NBA lol (I know Ian does the NBA, but I’m just saying)
That's funny he knows them from "OHHHHHHHHH!" He must watch back his past broadcasts.
How about Andrew Catalon next?
Spero Dedees!
The Master of Ceremonies for TANK BOWL!
He should be the number 1 announcer, not Nantz. It’s not even close.
