Design was inspired by the Audi TT Roadster released in 2000 by Eirick Lund Nielson
Kobe won his first championship in adidas The Kobe against the Pacers in 2000
The shoe incorporated Adidas’ brand-new Torsion System for medio-lateral forefoot stability during quick court movements and AdiPRENE+ for superb cushioning and support. A total of six original Kobe 1 colorways debuted during its initial run: sunshine yellow (2001 All-Star Game colorway), mesh, ice blue, black (debuted 11/3/00), white (debuted 12/15/00), and silver, at an original retail price point of $125.
After the Kobe 2 he parted ways with adidas and he was a sneaker free agent for 1 year before signing with Nike.

I had the OG black back in 2000, it literally drove me to buy a 2001 Audi TT so I bought a silver Crazy 1 last month. Dope nostalgic shoe.
I remember when these first came out, and I wanted to get a pair, but I couldn’t afford it. Still love these for what they represent and makes me miss Kobe, but I don’t know that I could rock these nowadays… I’ll probably still pickup a pair for the nostalgia and just because I know can actually afford when I couldn’t before

Just bought a pair of black purple and yellow laker colorways at champs. While they are 20 year old styles, they still look futuristic.

Man forget the ADI prine+ imagine if they would’ve had some boost inserts in there for this year’s release🔥. As is there’s not much compression for all day casual comfort. I guess just insole swap.

I have the vivid mint and solar orange from 2016. That colorway pops so much.
As it relates to the TT, Audi still makes it. As for the shoe one of my favorite pairs of basketball shoes ever in terms of the design, used to hoop in those & the Tmac 2 a lot as a kid.
I got the silver pair but disappointed with the box they came with.
I had these as well as the Tmac 5 and they both were bricks to play in.
Had the silver cw back when i was in college, year 2000.
Ill buy it if adidas couldve make it a boost soles and this will be fire

You can't really expect everyone to make buzz about quite a niche sneaker.
Specially when not everyone was there when Kobe blew up, which is when these kicks debuted.
I didnt cop back then i didnt like the look but i think they look better now than before imo, its hard to make a buzz about a shoe without being able to tell the history of the model

True. The kobe 2 the jordan 2 and the Ford mustang 2 were all failures. Kobe hated the 2s yet I wish he stayed with adidas and made a huge worldwide shoe store like Jordan did so he could have competed with jordan even off the court.
I thought the shoe looked ok at first, but Kobe hated Adidas. The shoe might look decent with some styles new, but they age AWFUL.
Usually I don't care about creases but they crease so badly, seriously look at a used pair, they go from looking like future moon shoes to something that looks like painted cardboard.
