I like how parts of it actually sound heroic until Forgo takes over and makes it more sinister. They have a real creepy voice that perfectly fits what I’ve been imagining for them.
I also noticed that Leon’s voice changes in a similar way to how Dedede’s voice (or accent if you like) gets heavier before and after becoming Forgo Dedede.
the Be Prepared reference in that part also helps that forgo making Leon go from a king who just wants the best for his people to a conqueror, power-hungry like Scar

What’s amazing is how Darby uses a grand and prideful for Leongar, showing his determination to bring the wild to that “land of dreams”, and when Forgo takes over, Juno shows Forgo’s rage and anger over being separated and contained, desiring one thing: revenge; not just on man for their interference, but also Kirby (the ball)and Dedede (the boar) for their interference and defiance.

The lyrics definitely did his character justice: A proud king that was left behind with his people desperate to give himself and his kind a little spark of hope and a happy life in a land of dreams, a king who would've done anything to escape this forgotten land he would even put his entire life in some 'god creature' who could give those dreams to him and his people, but he couldn't Be Prepared for the powers and goals that lived within his only last spark of hope... I don't say it lightly when I say that this is a 10/10 but this cover definitely is a 11/10 and deserves way more praise
If I may add my two cents, In game it's explained that Leongar wasn't actually in control of his body and mind but rather Fecto Forgo was controlling him. Leon doesn't speak in any other way aside from meows and the like. So him speaking English was not actually him, but Fecto Forgo using him as a puppet. The way I interpreted the lyrics is similar to yours, but it's possible Fecto used their powers to not fully mind control him, but maybe brainwash him up until the second phase of the fight. Then it's straight up mind control!

I love how Leongar doesn't seem to hold humanity in contempt of leaving them behind, instead wishing to join with mankind wherever they are, intending to share their own knowledge they have gained with humanity. It's only after Forgo takes over that he starts to delve into the evil side and claim that all will bend to their command, intending to "take back the kingdom we had before." Also the Lion King references are well placed too, as when he's more sane he quotes Mufasa (Everything light touches falls within judgment of the animal king/Everything the light touches is our kingdom) and then when Forgo takes over, he quotes Scar with "Be Prepared"
Because unlike the others, he "mostly" knows the truth about why man is gone and wishes to shatter the barrier of this forgotten land and ascend the animals to the light of a new dawn.
It’s just so beautiful how in the 2nd phase theme, you can hear Fecto’s voice through an echo past Leon’s voice. Truly exemplifying the puppet-like feel of Leon throughout the whole game.
Man Darby has an amazing talent for voicing/singing - going from the deep, intimidating villain voice to the guttural high notes of the furious Leongar. And the lyrics are equally clever, from the "everything the light touches" and "meticulous planning/tenacity spanning/decades of denial" references to Lion King to the overall larger-than-life higher-than-thou eldritch horror speech. Kudos to both Juno and Darby for bringing Leongar's fight to life!
Alright,this was absolutely worth the wait The lyrics are pretty good,they represent Leongar perfectly and I love how even in this song the "call of the wild" is still present,just like the good old "Hail the Origami King" Darby absolutely KILLED it as Leon,and the art is pretty good as well And I know for sure,that after hearing the Roar of the Raging Lion,soon enough 2 Planets will be ready to approach the Roche Limit...

What I like is that Darby makes Leongar’s voice grand, prideful, and angry to represent Leon’s determination to not only make Elfilis whole, but to defeat Kirby (the ball) and King Dedede (the boar) for rebelling and defying his plans, but when Forgo takes over, Juno delivers a more rage filled, bloodthirsty voice to represent Forgo’s rage, after all these years of being contained, separated from Elfilin.

Wow, to say you and Darby did this song justice is an understatement. Nice lyrics, beautifully performed, but you ultimately earned my like at the Be Prepared reference. (That happens to be my favourite song from The Lion King) Also, I like how you kept this 'drip feed'(?) going, with Dedede's songs both building up to this, Masked and Wild D.D.D dropping a hint of Forgo, and now this song not only capturing Leongar's character perfectly, but also feeding into Forgo's plot, and inevitably their own songs. Speaking of which, I know many of us are dying to hear Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit, but I have to wonder if you'd somehow manage to make Hunted by the Beast work as well. That'd be quite something to behold, I reckon.

Ayyy, the song is here! I was honestly hooked when I heard Darby's voice as Leongar. He makes him sound like a chorus leader and the Beast Pack is the chorus. I was on my toes during the entire song! It was just THAT good. Keep up the grand work, Juno!
Darby did a phenomenal job with this song. You can really feel Leons struggle and his pride come through. Also I love the refrences to the lion king in this!
As we get more of these songs, the buildup towards the big bad is great. I am stoked to hear his writing for the final boss theme, since they have multiple segments and phases, it is going to be one heck of a show. Keep up the amazing work! The fusion is nigh.
Coming back for another listen I just noticed something, when Leongar still is in control of himself the lyrics are mainly about the pack as a whole with references to Mufasa's lines in Lion King mixed in, then when Forgo takes over it shifts to being all about him with the references instead being Scar's villain song, very nice touch
I saw a Be Prepared reference, very clever Juno. Overall a great song, and I imagine that the final boss is the last song from this game you intend to cover if so I’m excited to see what you have planned
This is absolutely amazing! Leongar's theme is one of my favourite music tracks in Forgotten Land and seeing this makes me so happy. This needs more attention by how amazing this sounds! Also seeing all the references were such a nice touch.

I mean I would want the Forgo fight to be on Elfilin’s POV, with him and Kirby being horrified at what Forgo did to Leongar and other members of the pack. See, I think what would be interesting is that Forgo wouldn’t be able to talk until becoming Elfilis again once they gain Elfilin, who can talk.

Great work as always Juno, once Toxic pea made his, I was looking forward to this. Also I noticed that the text for Leongar’s first phase is in that primal font that Forgo Dedede’s text occasionally turned into, showing that Fecto Forgo has a tighter grip on Leon, that’s just a nice detail
The past two Kirby tracks feel a bit better as complete songs, but you definitely chose the right guy for Leon! Darby did great keeping him proud, yet almost understanding or diplomatic, until peaking with a more intimidating, direct, and fearsome end segment. Looking a little closely, did you keep the art piece up longer than usual to mask his limited health? If so, pretty clever! Speaking of clever, though, part of me *really* hopes releasing today is a coincidence... Edit: Wait... "Ball and the Boar stand be..." pffffff, nice one.
I love how “the Great One” was translated to “their Greatness”, in my own language, French. Makes ID-F86 almost feel like some sort of king or queen. And, sorry, but the original is « Sa Grandeur », which could be both “his” or “her”-there are unfortunately no gender implications because French uses feminine if the actual possessed word (“greatness”, in this case), is feminine. Too bad, it doesn’t canonically tell us more about Elfilis’ potential gender but I guess it’s fine this way and referring to them in a neutral way kind of seems fitting in itself. Still cool to see translations can be so interesting and transformative, increasing the tension of the last section of the game and making this final boss feel like royalty and so ominous, during the buildup alone!
3:54 I used a trick with my crappy headphones that cut out some audio when you position the cord weirdly so I could get a good listen of the voice in the back, it kinda sounds like multiple people talking in a metal bowl from far away.
Like how Leongar dismisses his "loyal tool" just like the little pink intruder. Dedede is an outsider too. Pretty ironic how Forgo twists and bends Leon's form as well, then. The circle of lif- Er, possession, is complete.

What I like is that Darby makes Leongar’s voice grand, prideful, and angry to represent Leon’s determination to not only make Elfilis whole, but to defeat Kirby (the ball) and King Dedede (the boar) for rebelling and defying his plans, but when Forgo takes over, Juno delivers a more rage filled, bloodthirsty voice to represent Forgo’s rage, after all these years of being contained, separated from Elfilin.

Wow, to say you and Darby did this song justice is an understatement. Nice lyrics, beautifully performed, but you ultimately earned my like at the Be Prepared reference. (That happens to be my favourite song from The Lion King) Also, I like how you kept this 'drip feed'(?) going, with Dedede's songs both building up to this, Masked and Wild D.D.D dropping a hint of Forgo, and now this song not only capturing Leongar's character perfectly, but also feeding into Forgo's plot, and inevitably their own songs.
Speaking of which, I know many of us are dying to hear Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit, but I have to wonder if you'd somehow manage to make Hunted by the Beast work as well. That'd be quite something to behold, I reckon.

Darby did a phenomenal job with this song. You can really feel Leons struggle and his pride come through. Also I love the refrences to the lion king in this!
I can’t believe the amount of primal fury that Leongar conveyed in the song. You can really hear the untamed tone in his voice! Bravo, Juno. Bravo.
As we get more of these songs, the buildup towards the big bad is great. I am stoked to hear his writing for the final boss theme, since they have multiple segments and phases, it is going to be one heck of a show.

Coming back for another listen I just noticed something, when Leongar still is in control of himself the lyrics are mainly about the pack as a whole with references to Mufasa's lines in Lion King mixed in, then when Forgo takes over it shifts to being all about him with the references instead being Scar's villain song, very nice touch
I saw a Be Prepared reference, very clever Juno. Overall a great song, and I imagine that the final boss is the last song from this game you intend to cover if so I’m excited to see what you have planned

This is absolutely amazing! Leongar's theme is one of my favourite music tracks in Forgotten Land and seeing this makes me so happy. This needs more attention by how amazing this sounds! Also seeing all the references were such a nice touch.
Wish the possessed part was longer, but still an epic cover. Also, using the boss subtitles for the "starring as" was genius.
I love how there are just references to the Lion King planted throughout the song. The lyrics mixed with Darby’s golden voice makes thei cover absolutely legendary.

The past two Kirby tracks feel a bit better as complete songs, but you definitely chose the right guy for Leon! Darby did great keeping him proud, yet almost understanding or diplomatic, until peaking with a more intimidating, direct, and fearsome end segment. Looking a little closely, did you keep the art piece up longer than usual to mask his limited health? If so, pretty clever! Speaking of clever, though, part of me *really* hopes releasing today is a coincidence...

I love how “the Great One” was translated to “their Greatness”, in my own language, French. Makes ID-F86 almost feel like some sort of king or queen. And, sorry, but the original is « Sa Grandeur », which could be both “his” or “her”-there are unfortunately no gender implications because French uses feminine if the actual possessed word (“greatness”, in this case), is feminine.
Too bad, it doesn’t canonically tell us more about Elfilis’ potential gender but I guess it’s fine this way and referring to them in a neutral way kind of seems fitting in itself. Still cool to see translations can be so interesting and transformative, increasing the tension of the last section of the game and making this final boss feel like royalty and so ominous, during the buildup alone!

3:54 I used a trick with my crappy headphones that cut out some audio when you position the cord weirdly so I could get a good listen of the voice in the back, it kinda sounds like multiple people talking in a metal bowl from far away.
Like how Leongar dismisses his "loyal tool" just like the little pink intruder. Dedede is an outsider too. Pretty ironic how Forgo twists and bends Leon's form as well, then. The circle of lif- Er, possession, is complete.
