"Take apart this watch and you are left with 31 tools, not including the useless tool that is yourself for purchasing this piece of garbage!" I felt that burn all the way over here in Colorado HAHAHA.
I have the original LeathermanTread bracelet (without the watch) and it is my go to travel tool, saved the day numerous times. For the watch, some Etsy/eBay machinists started selling custom made adaptors to use the Tread as a watch strap, and I guess so many people bought them, Leatherman went out and created this abomination you had fun with this weekend.
Oh, most hard-core survivalist and full time mechanics on UA-cam blasted the Tread bracelet when it first launched, comparing it with whatever heavy or medium duty Leatherman plier based multitool they worship. It's not that type of tool. I've used it to adjust the seat on my kids bikes, fix slanted glass shower doors in hotel rooms (hex) cut and open anything (vacation) sim ejector tool (travel) #2&3 Philips thousands of times for small jobs. It's light weight, corrosion resistant, easy to wear, easy to use (without the watch)
It's meant to be a TSA-friendly multitool, whether or not it actually is, is a different matter. One of my brother's employers would mildly freak out that he had a full sized multitool, so I gifted him a Tread bracelet.
I got it as a gift and I use it at work every day with my wave it comes in handy and has taking a beating and the battery has last year's without dying
I bought a tread lt in black and adapted it to my g shock with chrono links. Interesting piece. It’s just unique. I dont know of anything like it. It’s far from cheap but for the conversations you get from it , i enjoy it
Oddly enough a friend of mine actually wears one of those treads LTs. He is one of those guys that wants to feels like he is always prepared for any encounter. I think his wife gave it to him. Tip: it isn’t necessary to remove the link to use it only fold it to reveal the tool you need. I’ve seen him use it for tightening a screw a couple of times.
They are clearing Tempo LT for just over two hundred dollars. The strengths are a windshield breaker and seatbelt cutter in case you are in a car accident. It's the best two hundred I've spent in the pandemic. I can take a shower with it. It's TSA compliant so you can take it on a plane or train.
@@oscarosullivan4513 in house made says a lot. Quirky & clever designs to overcome machining shortcomings is very cool. I like them, some people don't, they make me happy.
Got my on sale two weeks ago at 160$, I'm a custodian and find it very useful in the few days of wearing. Seems perfect for light duty stuff and if you always have a Phillips screw driver on you let alone a whole set, you're essentially a hero. Never would have bought at 399$, but I thought it was neat and a cool first watch to own at the sale price.
One year, I bought my brother a Leatherman tread, because we both thought it was cool. Another year, he ended up buying one of those scammy social media watches (and I don't even mean the well known brands), so I bought him a G Shock.
the watch makes perfectly sense. you need also to purchase a leatherman tool, to dissamable and reasamble the watch. an because you lose the watch, when the bracelet is disesamblet, you also need another watch. its the perfect device for rip off costumers,, you just dont see it;) by the way; this Invicta tool watch, i totaly need in my life xD
I like mine. You seem to think you need to take it apart to use the tools, lol. Also good to review things when you have an example, you make assumptions about the comfort and such.
I work for an authorized leatherman dealer and we sold just the tread bracelet when it was new to the market. It sold pretty fast but then dropped off completely! Finally sold the last one after discounting it, then the other store sent over their last one saying “ok now sell this one too!!” 😆😭 I would just stick with a good everyday watch and a Leatherman/work knife. On another note, my favorite everyday carry has been a vintage Citizen Solar Tech watch in Titanium, Benchmade 940-1 pocket knife, and I keep a Leatherman surge in my backpack while at work. Always entertaining content, TT! Always been a knife guy, but now I’m like “darn it, I’m sorta into watches too!”
I just bought the bigest Casio edifice. It's a 51mm in diameter and 57mm lug to lug.I have 18.5 cm wrist and fits my wrist so nice.Yes its a very big watch bat i like it a lot,I love it. Has a nice lume and yes it is a monster watch but fits and wears nice.In one day i've got 4-5 compliments.
More than anything, I think it's a piece of memorabilia/merchandise for Leatherman fans who enjoy collecting their tools. It's not seriously meant to be actually used as a tool although it could probably be pressed into service as such if your life depended on it and you had nothing else. It's a fun if expensive toy/collectible/conversation piece for Leatherman fans more than for watch collectors - just like some of the toys on the shelves behind you. :) Wouldn't be a bad Father's Day gift either, again for the right person who is into that sort of thing.
The diver was just a hard hat diver, dude. Saturation diving is a totally different animal. Same basic equipment, different everything else. It has a very specific use for me: airline travel. Other tools with sharp implements are verboten by TSA. This gizmo has no exposed sharp edge. I know a guy who wears the tread because he feels naked without any multitool, but he flies just about every week. He actually bought an aftermarket link to add a watch into his Tread before Leatherman did it.
I agree on price. But the wrist tools are great and want one. You don’t take it apart you just use it by folding to what you need. You take it apart for what link tools you want. It comes with the tool to take links apart. He built it because they said he couldn’t take his leathermen tool to somewhere. But I say get one or the wish one.
I have the tool bracelet which has been around for years and which came with watch spring bar attachments if you ever wanted tk use it with a watch. I did for 4 minutes but it is incredibly uncomfortable. As for the tool bracelet I gave it to my son.
