Colin McNut was part of a group of BAC drummers who came to UMass in 89. They took Hannum’s drum line to new heights and transformed us from a kick ass college line to a get out of our fucking way line!!
Hey Mike! Yea, proud to see the heights BAC have reached and the drumline under Colin. Trying to remember the whole BAC -UMass contingent from that era: Colin, Scott Snow, Shawn Kelly, Dave Chandler, Kristin Gutierez, Nick Angeles (all percussion) the list goes on with guard + horn….Erica Trabonis, Erica Jacob, Brian McQue, Chris Holland. (Some of these folks started at Umass then went to BAC, others started at BAC, etc. Proud to have known them back in the day and that many have had lasting influence or careers in drum corps or guard (Colin, Nick, Chris, Erica). More talent than I.

Anyone else getting scv 2004 vibes where the lot and the show is so good with percussion it would be a mystery if they lost percussion. Full disclosure I dont know if they won the fred stanford or if the pit was beastly too... But they shouldve with these measures of pleasure 😏

Always DCI Drumline salt play pretty much the same thing, nothing difficult about what they're doing oh, they're playing very few rudiments, but a lot of Rim shots and hand-to-hand taps. Major differences between old-school drumlines, and these Marching Band drum lines. Old school drumlines, Blessed Sacrament golden knights, Chicago Cavaliers, New York Skyliners, Long Island sunrises, Connecticut hurricanes, reading Buccaneers, Boston Crusaders and many many others. They were real drumlines playing really difficult Parts with many many rudiments and none were alike.
You have to be joking.
My tech marched Reading Buccs, and he's really into modern books. Don't be bitter and degrade modern lines.
You know much less about drumming than you think if you really believe the top lines today play the same stuff as each other. Go to bed boomer
