- Cesar Morales Pool Player, Efren Reyes History.
He was a skinny guy with a thin mustache and no teeth. To most folks, this Caesar Morales looked like a dreamer without a chance, some local hero or small-time hustler who thought he could ride a few bar room triumphs to success on the pro billiards circuit. Maybe he was Mexican, or Filipino-he didn't say and no one asked. This was the 1985 Red's 9-Ball Open in Houston, Texas, $10,500 to the winner, where billiards' best came to win, not make friends.
Efren who also popular as "bata" in the philippines, is the best pool player in the world. Bata means kids in the filipino language, since Reyes was started to play the pool since he was a kid.

I just realized that Philippines ( and the world's) greatest sportsmen Efren Reyes and Manny Pacquiao have something in common, down to earth, humble and very nice guys.
Playing and hustling as Cesar Morales in the early 80's, he left a trail of destruction in pool tables with his $10 cue stick all over the US. They did not know what or who hit them. Legendary.
Greatest pool player that ever lived!!! No question!!! Not even a close second. He executes shots most people don’t even see. We are so privileged to be alive to watch him.
If I could live another lifetime, I would not see another player of Efren's quality & dignity in the games of pool.
He looks like those Anime type Great Sensei who looks like a joke, old, and just happy about everything, but when he's in action he transforms into some type of forbidden folklore beast.
I WILL NEVER FEEL TIRED WATCHING EFREN REYES OVER AND OVER AGAIN
In the summer of 1983 i played with him somewhere in Tondo Manila. He is practicing in another table as i watch him do practice shot, and he doesn't miss a shot. I already know he is efren "bata" reyes. Wow!!! I still remember that to this day.
Cesar Morales is actually a real person. Efren's $10 cue stick was given by his friend Cesar Morales decades ago and that was the alias he used when he hustled in the US.
Lots of trickshots were invented simply because one man proved that there's no limit to what you can do with billiard balls.
With the Covid SIP, I have been watching Efren over and over. Down 17 racks to Earl in a race to 120 with 25 racks to go. No Problem. Never ceases to amaze me. Not only with his skill but with his humility.
He changed his name because if he introduces himself as efren reyes the magician, all finest pool players in the world will be reluctant to challenge him. That was how great he was until now.
he still carries that legendary $10 cue stick
Pros: jump the ball
These great men have reached their highest achievements due to discipline, sincerity and humility.
We are not gonna see the likes of him for a long time. Some of his 'get out of trouble shots' are so intricate and artistic we dare not even think it's possible, but he does it in quiet rumination and humbleness. I call his kick-shots double joy, because he not only gets out of trouble, but the object ball also finds home.
He never change from the beginning into famous still the same man. Humble.
The legendary Cesar Morales and the $10 cue stick..🔥🔥
He is good not only geometrical but also physics. True, prodigy!
Everytime I'm stressed out I just watch the magicians greatest shots and I feel better
The GOAT forever!no body could replace him forever!a very humble and down to earth man!he should be the model of all sports
