I remember I was 9 and knew nothing about anythings else than piano and japanese cartoons. This was my first song that I practice without the help of my piano teacher. I used to practice this everyday over and over again, until my hands were tired. I've always dream about playing this to my friends and family, and impress them with my skills. I'm an unbelievable child haha. I keep practicing everyday, until I get to the point I realized I keep repeating the same keys and not even stepping up to the next ones. Until to the point I was getting discouraged and almost gave up, at that time I didn't accept that desicion and kept going. Few days later, I felt anxiety everytime I play the piano. I got more discouraged after my parents sometimes says I won't be able to complete it if I do the same thing. And it made me sad and eventually my first became my last. And didn't played piano since then.
Now I'm 13, seeing this video that taught me back then again. I'm still a fan of piano and my piano back then is still here. And now it made me realize, I've made the biggest mistake about giving up piano, if I would continue piano since that day I would see myself finished that and now playing songs between mozart or beethoven. If you have possible dreams that you already started, finish it.
I posted this story of mine to encourage to those who wanted to learn this piece. I absolutely loved this song back then, and still loved it now. So please! Do not give up.
I was in a similar situation. Actually, almost identical. I had wanted to play piano for a while, and although I could play chord style I was always too intimidated to play normal, real piano. This piece pushed me over the edge. I was willing to do anything, like you, to be able to play this piece. I got there, and you can too. It wasn't easy, it took a couple of months of continuous failure, and only towards the end of the 3 did I start to sound fairly good. People say that you should take it easy and start off with easy songs, and while that makes more sense logically you need the passion to continue playing that only songs that truly resonate with you can offer. Now that I can play this song I'm working on the next. I just hope you won't give up this time because one of the most satisfying things is being able to play a cool piano piece that seemed impossible at first.
If you have difficulty playing after measure 29 I was in the same position, and following pianist tips online I tried playing the top and bottom separately and then only combining them after I could play up to tempo. It worked for me. Also try doing scales to improve your hand speed. 頑張って！
