Lighting will be the next big step I take, although I usually film outside without access to easy electricity so I am limited by both budget and portability. The LED light looked interesting and so I will read up on those more but the diffuser looked a bit cheap and tacky to me. I could be wrong and have limited understanding of lighting in general but I am fairly sure I could rig something a bit better up with some gauze type material a few nuts and bolts and a few lengths of either dowel or metal rod, and I am pretty sure I could do it for less than £25 - £50. I am perhaps taking a make-mend-and-make-do approach too far but those were the thoughts that struck me as I was watching. Thanks for the video and for introducing me to the diffuser and the lights. All the best.
Yes, I think a competent DIYer would be able to make something easily, this is more for people such as myself who'd rather buy a ready-made item. Surprised you need lighting doing anything outdoors?!
+Scott Vanderbilt No. Long boats were the craft used by Vikings to go around Europe raping and pillaging. I live on a narrowboat :-) Take a look at my Vlog channel, ua-cam.com/users/CruisingTheCutUK
+UKAirscape Indeed. My mistake. I should know better, having recently watched the Beeb's recent six-part series on canals. But I can't help but notice a slight resemblance to Sweyn Forkbeard. :-)
Seems the product is changing. Easy Frost now includes a 50° grid. Combined price is $35 USA or £23.45 at B&H in the U.S. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1207644-REG/aputure_easy_frost_softbox_kit.html

I just ordered mine - hope they arrive soon. As an aside, you sound just like John Cleese. Fancy performing the parrot sketch?
Excellent review, as always. Thank you! P.S. Do you live on a long boat, by any chance?

+Scott Vanderbilt Distant cousin ;-)
Is this suitable for the Al-F7 light?
I don't know, sorry.

Interesting; yes, that definitely wasn't in my review unit but they did tell me it was an early prototype sample. Good to see the extra bit included!
