I completely agree. Walking and running are both great forms of exercise, and they individually offer benefits that the other doesn’t. I’d love to do Dubbo parkrun, but I’m on the wrong side of the world! 🇬🇧 We’re heading into winter, so I’m envious of that sunshine and warmth. ☀️
At the age of 59, and never having been a runner, I took up power walking Parkrun each week. My weight decreased, my cholesterol improved and my heartbeat has slowed to a normal pace. Most of all, my doctor is happy!
The massive benefit of walking for me personally as I approach 70 years old is the reduced impact on the joints. I still have data from when I was running in my forties that is interesting. A slow run or jog was burning around 140cals/mile Nowadays: My ebike using assistance around 15-16cals/mile Without using the motor 25-26cals/mile But the biggest surprise to me was that walking around 3 miles per hour I'm burning around 95cals/mile, and it's more relaxing with all the plusses you mentioned in your video.
Thanks John. Sometimes us runners feel walking doesn’t count. I myself am doing a lot of walking right now while I rehab my hip flexor strain/tendonosis
I actually jog alongside walkers who I cant keep up with when walking. I am short with short legs and need to jog alongside them - I actually like it because for me it becomes a better cardio workout than just walking but also stops me from going too fast at too high of a HR as I normally do when running alone. Plus I can still talk to my friends as I jog.

I enjoyed hearing the sounds of nature from Australia! =D
Australia is a woke hell hole. There is nothing good about it anymore.
