I plan to do another video on Equator, where we test more deeply-including Plugin Doctor. I also plan to do a definitive de-resonator/unmasker shoot-out soon. Let me know if you'd like to see any specific plugs tested! Let's get it!
Great info, great editing, great humor, and great authority. Grats on 500 -- here's to 500k. Preciat'cha!
Thanks for the support as always, Drop!
Great!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thanks for your help.
So glad I can help! Thanks so much.
Thank you. Your review helped me settle on getting Equator. What song is this?
That's great! Let me know how you use it. The song is called Struggle & Torn by Arkana, a little production I've been involved with for decades. Currently unavailable while we remaster the songs. I'll make a big announcement when the album's back up. Glad you like it!
Nice demo! Sub'd.... I wish Waves would have added a red visual masking bar showing the overlaps similar to fabfiler pro Q3. Would make things easier to see at a glance.
So appreciate the sub! Pro audio world are a necessarily skeptical and conservative users of social media-hard to get them subs!
That would be very cool to show overlaps. Pro Q3 has set the standard for visuals when EQ'ing for sure. Sonnox Claro does this in a very cool way. See review here: ua-cam.com/video/FPUoiGNhtYg/v-deo.htmlsi=tIXB7bx5f2ECw8lT&t=137
In the case of Equator, since you're just making a reverse profile of the sidechain, it's not as necessary to show overlaps as much. I do like that, once dialled-in, it's left more to ear to fine-tune.
I plan to do a de-resonator/unmasker shoot-out soon. Let me know if you'd like to see any specific plugs tested!
Thanks for subbing and commenting!
But itll be 29$ soon everyday of the year.... (waves. The company where the intro price is more expensive than the normal price...)😅
@@seok84 Who knows? Waves's pricing certainly is a wild, nonsensical thing these days. Platinum was $1500 when I bought it in 2008. Nothing ever went on-sale. Now? $299 lol.
That being said, if Soothe 2 is $300, then Equator is a steal at even $79. But wouldn't blame anyone for holding out.
If you don't want to support massive corporates, Three-Body Technology has just released an almost identically brilliant plugin, SpecCraft, for only $69. Check my demo here: ua-cam.com/video/ukwRJKFWtIw/v-deo.htmlsi=4rKYaLp2OZFJnhow&t=891
Am I hearing, struggling tone? 😅
@@josesarinsemanzi lol. Aren't we all struggling?! Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@josesarinsemanzi You've just unofficially renamed "Struggle & Torn" to "Struggling Tone!" I'll inform the songwriters.
This nothing like Soothe. Much fewer and broader bands makes this more of a tonal shaper, where Soothe 2 is a surgical resonance suppressor with thousands of bands. Soothe 2 also has online and offline oversampling control, band solo, and left/right mid/sode processint cotnrol per band. You vant say a pluging thats not even identical in ability can be its killer, bc they dont even do the same thing
@@fcmas Good points. They definitely aren't the same product. Each offers something the other doesn't. While my headline might be slightly hyperbolic, I do believe this poses an existential threat to Soothe, as you can achieve very similar results at 1/10th the price. But Oeksound are an incredible company and have owned this space for years so they'll be fine. Wouldn't be surprised to see Soothe 3 include a few of Equator's features though! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Waves no no no - their business model is really bad. Baby Audio also make a very good alternative to Soothe called Smooth Operator and are a much more customer focused brand - without the over top money making out of their existing user base. Shame as they had some good plug ins but the game is completely different with many talented developers out there.
@@eg1612 It's sad to see the result of greedy marketing decisions. You're obviously passionate about audio, and now Waves ha lost you-maybe forever. Sad!
Yes, I got Smooth Operator the moment it came out. Extremely useful, and it does sidechained unmasking! but, it's in a lower league than Soothe. And this Equator is a sizzler.
