Double Tunisian Crochet (two colors)

  • Quick video on how to do a two color double Tunisian crochet going through the vertical bars. I did this one up on my iPad since I don’t have a camera to do it more professional-like. If you’re curious about my funny looking nails, I was born that way. It has a long word but it’s a very rare disorder.

Thank you for this video ❤ and for all of you people who are criticising this lady, she has explained about her nails if you took the time to even get to know more about this lovely lady. Not that she should have to explain herself 😢there really are some ignorant people in this world.

I fully agree. I have only just found her channel and so do not know the issue, but it is none of my business unless she wishes to mention and speak about it. Some people are just so rude and insensitive. I wonder how these folks would feel if someone behaved that way towards them. It is just none of anyone’s business and she seems to be such a gracious and kind person that she actually mentioned anything in the first place. She is not here to discuss her personal business, she is kindly sharing her skill with us, for free…and creating a channel with all the videos, all the time and editing, it is not cheap to do, financially and time wise. Some folks are just ungrateful and rude.
This is the first of her videos I have seen. It popped up as a suggestion and I am so glad it did. I have only begun learning to do Tunisian crochet this year. I have been crocheting for more years than I wish to claim lol and there is always something to learn, but I love the challenge and thrill of learning new ways of doing things and the challenge of it. I had no idea there were double ended hooks! And will be on the hunt for them now lol.
This was such an excellent video! And I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful comment! I hope you and our instructor are both keeping well and are having a great week.

@@SassyPumpkins1313 thank you, yes I just wanted to politely point out to the people out there that there is no need for horrible comments when this lovely lady is taking her time to help us all in her beautiful work. My motto is, if you can't be nice then don't say anything at all, like you said, how would they feel if someone was criticising them about something, no one is perfect by far! So either be nice, or scroll on! Lovely to have your comment on this too, and thank you for replying to what I said. Happy crocheting and stay safe and well. X

    Dear Kalina May,
Everyone has something that “isn’t like most people”; however, others may have a disorder which is in a place that doesn’t show.
You are very good at explaining Tunisian Crochet and your work is excellent !!!
    You are a great instructor.

This is a little bit mindblowing. Especially if you haven’t even done this technique on a single-headed hook

    • @kalinamay
      @kalinamay  2 роки тому

Yeah, my demonstration is for crocheters who are already familiar with Tunisian crochet and it’s not on a single-headed hook but a double-sided hook (a hook on each end). My iPad camera angle wasn’t able to show the whole hook.

Merci. Pascale.

I just found your channel and just wanted to thank you for the tutorial. I am new to Tunisian crochet although have been crocheting for most of my life. I never realised there were double ended hooks. I have a few Tunisian hooks with extensions to allow for bigger projects and ones that are just like a long hook. But Ican see how a double ended one would be quite useful. Do they come in different lengths so you could make blankets or are they just a standard length and you would need to sew “blocks” together for blanket making? I could see a patchwork one with different stitch pattern per block being quite effective.
I enjoyed your tutorial so much that I have subscribed and am so glad it was suggested to me. Thank you again and I look forward to watching your other tutorials! I hope you are keeping well and having a great week. With much appreciation from an American living in Scotland! ❤️🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thank you Shelley for subscribing and I’m so glad you enjoyed my tutorial. Scotland must be a beautiful country. I’ve never been but heard so much about it. It’s good to know you learned something from my tutorial. I only have an iPad and not a proper camera to keep my work in front of the lens. The hooks do come in different sizes, I only have about three sizes. Mary Maxim has the double ended hooks in 4 sizes, the 5mm up to 6.5mm. Thank you again for joining!

This lovely lady is teaching us a very different and unusual technique, which we should all be grateful for, and not criticising her appearance. Also by the way , most treatments for nail fungus don't work, I know it took 10 years of many pills and potions to finally destroy a rare tropical toenail one I had caught. It would help if many of you cruel, ignorant people could find an ounce of empathy and respect while learning new crochet patterns, look at the hook and wool, not at the nails, shame on you all. I truly appreciate what this dear lady has taught me, it's a beautiful stitch. Bless you friend.

Why do I have to ffw to the end to see what it's going to look like? Show it in the first 10 seconds, describe what it is, briefly describe the process, tools and materials needed, etc. Is that so hard, people?
