@ I am kinda losing hope in a way because I commented this to Garmin on their FB post and they said “we are not aware of this”. Whatever that means haha. So, maybe they don’t have plans for it. But I don’t see why not because I know the instinct series has always been a success with me and my buddies in the tactical community
Honestly, the difference between the heart rate monitors is basically a few gimmick features that most people don’t use. It is slightly more accurate, but in most scenarios it’s negligible difference. I honestly would rather have had maps, the better sensor doesn’t really change much for me some storage or books or audio would’ve been more welcome.
Exactly as I expected absolutely minimal upgrade. Most of the functions could be updated via update I2. They didn't even add a new heart rate sensor. The amoled display is a mockery. It will be bought by the absolute minimum number of people, because instinct users are complete mimimalists. 🤷
It’s literally their “minimalist watch” If I needed 5 million features I’d go with a something like Fenix. Personally I’d buy this solely for the flashlight/red light. I’m not buying this immediately though, probably wait for a tactical to come out.
@@Matt_wiederhold Definitely love the red light and red shift mode. Wondering if the watch can be kept in red shift at all times or if it will only work dependent on the time of day.
Why is the V5 not included, nor maps, especially since the AMOLED (don't see the purpose) that isn't touch capable? This isn't a better buy than the 2X, especially when there's full maps and ECG for less than half from Coros, Amazfit, Suunto?
@noisetin Yep. It's why I'll be looking at other brands, sadly. I've been in the Garmin ecosystem for the last 8 years and it's just consistently gotten less affordable and less offering.
@@robbied4766 I get that. Garmin algorithms and their main calculation functions like training readiness or V02Max are class leading, but everything else is lacking. I think I'll just keep the old Garmin watch and use it along side something else new..

@FiremanFrach 2 weeks after buying cant say bad thing about it, really solid upgrade from I1, happy i didnt bought X version, just enough to have hoodie and coat over them and its still comfy
@@ZYGY98 That’s great to know, thanks. I received the I2x yesterday. I won it on eBay for $236.00. So far so good. I upgraded from the original Instinct solar.
Sorry to hear you are having difficulties with customizing your watch face/data. Please reach out to our Product Support team at 800-800-1020 or support.garmin.com. They will be happy to troubleshoot and assist.
@GarminRetailTraining Apologies, the watch is new. It arrived today, and it needed a software update. Since the update, I can now customise that watch face. Thank you for your response. 😊
Most people looking at these watches consider that a feature, touchscreen can be convenient, but in this style of watch, they are often unwanted. If you’re constantly in wet environments or have gloves on then a touchscreen is really obnoxious sure, sometimes it’s nice to have both, but often the buttons are just as easy
Honestly, I don’t get the hate for the sensory. The new sensor is marginally more accurate, ECG is largely unnecessary. Maps would have been nice but anytime I would actually need one, I have my phone with me anyway. Which is just way easier to look at topo maps on anyway.
It's wild how nobody is saying anything about the 5x more efficient solar panel making some gps modes unlimited! Also the price is $50 less than the Instinct 2 Solar was!
I would buy an all black solar model but those ornage accents are horrible. Literally the only thing holding me back. Please for the 3x, no damn colors for at least one model.
Thank you for your question. The Instinct 3 AMOLED 50mm has a slightly larger display than the 45mm (1.3" vs. 1.2"). On the Solar versions, the display size on the 50mm is 1.1" vs. .9" on the 45mm.
Was really hoping to be showed how Always on display works. I want the MIP still. But am really bothered by the orange/red accents. Would like to see the other watch faces also.
The reason i went garmin was to get away from amoled. Seeing the battery drop to 9 days with always on display is still not competing again amaze fit trex 3 but its expected. I would personally go instinct 2 over 3
Please include a map in the instinct 3x tactical. For me and many people, we would not upgrade a watch without a map. We are in 2014 even Fenix 2 (2014!!) had a map. Whatcha without is Nonsense
Garmin, you guys are simply the best... I had the first Garmin Instinct and it was wonderful for everything it offered! And I still have a Garmin Fenix 3, I've had it for 8 years and it's never given me any problems. Now I'm in love with this Garmin Instinct 3, it will probably be my next Garmin. ❤
Touch screen is only for Fenix and more expensive models silly, otherwise they would have to make the instinct more expensive and it would be pointless as it’s supposed to be a more simple watch at a cheaper price point
@@FishinCondition Not necessary, FR265 are roughly the same price and have a touch screen. Instinct 3 doesn't even have the Elevate 5 sensor, I've been waiting for them, but why should I buy them as an F7 user? They are no better than a 3 year old Fenix.
@@sorcererzv you have to look at it from Garmin’s perspective, it’s about maximizing the profit with this watch I understand there’s other options out there (even though most of them have trash GPS accuracy compared to Garmin) they’re offering more options to bring consumers into their ecosystem with the “beginner level” or “low model” watch and walk their customers up the ladder.
Watching the entire video of going through the menu, apart from a slight visual difference, it's exactly the same as in Instinct 2. Apart from the LED flashlight, there's no point in upgrading from I2S, no functional upgrades.
Today, I received my Instinct 3 (Software Vers. 5.19). The software is very quirky. From the start, I was unable to read the QR code to initiate sync. Also, Garmin Connect app does not show the Instinct 3 as registered. Your video is already outdated as the Watch Face option is not longer listed in Menu. In future videos, I would suggest noting the software version. It should not be this difficult, and time consuming, to prep the watch. At this price point, I do not see the value. Unreliable. Very disappointed.
So so so disappointed ! What a downfall for Garmin. No touch on amoled, old sensors, no maps and expensive :-( Other brand and models who have all of those extra are at about same price or even less ¡¡¡¡
Honestly.... I'm a bit disappointed with the way that the Instinct has upgraded. This newer model could've been so much more. I never understood why the need for the AMOLED display was needed. The whole purpose of the instinct was to create a rugged yet simplistic design. And basic usage. I think too much Influence on having nicer displays have taken over the last year or two. Lack of maps is a bummer. But I didn't expect it in this model. However it baffles me that it's not on the AMOLED display. Wait till the Beta upgrade happens for all the Instinct 2 and 2X users. You'll be better off
My only question is how is the Garmin Instinct 2 and all of its variants still full price after the release of the 2X and 3 versions?!! Garmin might just be the greediest company out there and that’s saying something! What a joke of a company. Used to be a loyal customer
To add to all the other disappointed comments, this feels like Garmin is making some time in order to release something like a 3x or 4 in a year and a half with an elevate 5 and maps and say "see?". I won't pay 450 euro for this, no way. I hope I can find a 2x for a good price.
