    there's still Tons of Crown Vic's still in service in fact the LASD has 429 of them still in service because they stocked up on the 2011 models. it's clear that so many police departments are hoarding Crown Vic's and keeping them as long as they can!

    Automatic Emergency Braking System? Gotta love it when it activates while doing a Pit Maneuver... i dont really see all these Safety features as an advantage for any police vehicle, i mean people who drive these are highly trained drivers so why do they need them?
    Gotta say its a nice Idea with the Hybrid System so i can see it makes working at the Scene much more calm and if you parked in a ParkingLot and do PC stuff you can really hear whats going on around you.

    Literally my department has ordered a half dozen ford SUV’s’ and 2 years later, are still waiting for them. There’s a reason we bought Tahoe’s and now, the Hemi Durangos. Ford simply can’t keep up. And the standard V6 has no juice. Slows AF. The hybrid is solid as is the eco tec……if you can get your hands on them. Do better, Ford

      Having owned many Crown Victoria P71s, I can say they're pretty outdated and not in a good way. They're slow, heavy, RWD (terrible in snow and rain), not great at handling, guzzle gas, and don't have much room in the backseat. It's surprising that some police departments still use them when there are much better options out there. Despite being iconic, Crown Vics just don't stack up against newer models. My local PD already got rid of them in 2014 because of these issues

  • @Khmc29
    @Khmc29 6 місяців тому +1

    This is the worse police vehicle on the market currently. Our department purchased them because we couldn't get a Tahoe and they were cheaper. It's slow, the fuel mileage is horrible, and very unreliable. Ours spend most of their service life in the shop. Mine personally has 14K miles and it's been to Ford dealers at least 30 plus times. Suspension, axels, transmission, 2 motors, and 3 batteries. I'd like to say it's a lemon, but the County is having the same problems in addition to the turbos on theirs. Ford needs to work on making a better product like the old vics were.

    Looks cool is bad. Do not build blinking lights into the brake lights. It will be very difficult for people to see when the car brakes.

      taillamp flashers been around for decades. When the officer brakes, the blinking patterns stop and it turns solid red. Its to enhance safety

    • @prunabluepepper
      @prunabluepepper 6 місяців тому

      @@ericwalker258 they think it enhances safety but the opposite is the case. Did you know that it is illegal for cars in the EU to have any other light function inside of brake lights? That's because humans have a reaction time, and when they need 1 second more to identify what light they see, or need to wait for the light pattern to change, they lose time. Time in which their vehicle continues to drive forward.
      Long time ago I read a report showcasing that much more rear end collisions happen in the USA than the EU and that one factor was the mixing of brake lights with indicator lights.
      Same principle.
