you don’t need to turn the bottle on the much 1/4-1/3 of a turn is fine. in an emergency it is very easy to turn off but when you do 4-5 full turns it takes a lot longer to turn off. much more dangerous.
Makes sense. 👍👍
That’s what we advise when demonstrating Weber’s at the shows
Had my Q1200 for a few years now ,,cooked all types of food ,just finished cooking two full size chickens one after another today ,,
They are a handy little BBQ, well under rated IMO
I have a Baby Q also. The side tables, you need to rest your beer somewhere while BBQing.
I normally don't use the Weber at home. We have a full size built in BBQ in the pergola. The Weber comes with us when we go away in the campervan.
Spot on. 👍😎
Nice review! wasn't expected the end, looks delicious!!
Thanks for the feed back
I thought about getting a,stand and side flaps but then I just went to bunnings and got a little metre high collapsible and portable table to sit my baby Q on , gonna have my first cook tonight .
Whatever works for you. 👍
Hi .Mike . I was looking for a small GOOD BBQ to buy but didn't know which one to buy as it is VERY confusing . Now after watching your VDO we'll be going to BBQ Galore to buy one . Your clip was very helpful , thanks for your advises and for sharing .
Thanks, I still love my Baby Q, it gets a LOT of use.
Yep , we've been using it few times now and I love it . EASY to clean . I even put a piece of aluminium foil on the chrome plate when cooking . Too easy . Thanks again . I just wanted to let you know. ?
Nice practical review. Nice work 👌
Thanks for the comment and feed back.
I know this review is a few years old now but it’s a great review, thanks. Was tossing up wether to get this one or the 2200 but I think this one looks ample big enough to cook a decent size roast etc?? Thanks again.
Thanks for the comment, I still have this bbq. Had a few warranty claims over the years, but Weber have always come good. So far this BBQ is still going and looking good. 👍
nice review TY . is the burner removable when cleaning ? PS for safety sake i'd keep the LPG bottle at the side rather than underneath : )
It can be removed with tools, but no need really may be once a year. Standard spot for the gas bottle is under the trolley, I only removed the bracket that holds it.
TY for the burner info' , is it easy / just a spanner job to remove it ? also i was just concerned about your safety , good idea to remove the bracket , i've never felt comfortable with the LPG being so close to the flame : )
Never tried removing the burner, but I am certain it just comes out with a few basic tools.
numbat 007 great video, but agree offset gas bottle.
@@nigel8499 The standard position recommended by weber is under the BBQ, every other BBQ on the market has the gas bottle below the BBQ, I have never seen a BBQ where the gas bottle is away from the BBQ, the Hose is not even long enough to allow anything else.
Nice review love my webers
Yep, I still use it to this day.
Lovely
Thank you.
Hi great video I presume that doesn’t come with side tables how much would that cost to buy extra? Thank you
Everything is extra, check your local Weber web site for pricing, every country is different.
Did u invent a new weber? I thought it was just a q1200. What makes a baby q1200.
I don’t really understand this comment. That’s what it is called, it’s a Weber Baby Q, No I did not invent it, I simply bought it from my local Weber BBQ dealer.
@@MikesManCave I was curious if u had a different grill than me. Mines just a weber q1200. Wasn't sure if the 'baby' was a different model.
Not sure where you are, a Weber 1000 and Weber 1200 is called a Baby Q. a 2000 series is called a Weber Q and a 3000 series is called a Family Q.Different places in the world may call them different things.
Hi i've just bought a weber q 1200 too, but mine has a different gas hose with a regulator that only accept propane cartdrige, cant connet to a propane tank without appropriate adapter. How did you get that white hose which go straight in the tank?
The hose came with the bbq. It’s a standard fitting in Australia.
How have those plastic side tables held up after 3 years of use?
Great, probably the only thing that has not given any problems.
How did you clean the grates? Did you use the wire brush? Does it scratch the coating?
Put them in the dish washer. Never used a wire brush as I don’t want to damage the grates.
@@MikesManCave used a wire brush on mine for 9 years and grates are still perfect, wont hurt them.
@@miked6367 Good to know.
You're lucky, my grates have been terrible. I use it a lot, but two lots of grates buggered in 7 years is a bit much. The porcelain flakes off and then they rust. Weber says it's because we live by the coast, but it always covered.
Great video
Thanks for the feed back.
Jamaicans love their BBQ, what part of Jamaica you from mon?
Jamaica, this was filmed in Outback Australia. A long way from Jamaica.
making a BBQ decision and looks like you sold a Q1200. Thanks
Thanks for the feed back, still use that BBQ regularly, great little BBQ.
When someone spends hundreds of dollars on something, they are likely to be in a mindset to justify their purchase. Weber barbeques are a classic example of the Emperor's Clothes story. They are not really any better than the Jackeroo barbies Australian people used for decades. They can't 'cook food better' or 'lock in the flavour with special vents'. They are not easy to clean, since they are full of crevices that accumulate gunk. Mine was replaced because the igniter broke. The paint comes off the dome if you use a scourer, they are too small, have non-stick grills instead of safe cast iron, and are really just a fake take on something that did not need reinventing. I sold mine to a hipster on ebay.
Cool. Well I have no need to justify anything, it’s still going strong, no paint has peeled, it gets used several times a week to prepare dinner and breakfast. And was used to cater for 7 adults Christmas dinner yesterday without remotely being too small. Actually I have left overs for lunch today. By the way Australians have been using Weber’s for decades. My oldest one is over 20 years old and still looks like the day I bought it. I also remember my dad using his Weber to prepare Christmas dinner 35 years ago.
I'm hearing mate. I'm in the market for a barbie but just can't justify the webers price, so what are you using now??
@@drunksquirrel2051 I love your politically correct comment. lol
Mike's Man Cave 7 adults you say. Deciding between q1200 or q2200. If this feeds 7 people then im going for the q1200. Thanks for your review. Have a great day.
