MY DAD IS THE CAPTAIN!!!! Captain Oliver! He just sent me the video! That’s his voice starting at 6:15! Thank you for sharing this 💛
That's awesome!! Thanks so much! It really was an incredible experience and everyone was just so friendly!!
I'm flying in 3 weeks time on one of these and as I heard the captain speak I .hoped my captain sounds the same ,such a great voice ..cheers
your father is flying for a really rare airline! congrats to your father!
I'm a former flight attendant with Continental, I used to fly 767-200 often to South America, I'm sure I worked on this plane. Cool.
I think OMNI purchased most of its 767s from CO, that's why their employees fly free with United only and they ZED with other carriers.
As a fellow AV geek, I was also excited when I realized I was getting a ride on an Omni 767-200ER. A few years ago, I took a very long ride on N225AX, returning from a deployment in the Middle East.
Awesome! And thank you for your service!
Those ex CO birds were really great. They were the only - 200s delivered incorporating all the bells and whistles of the later variants, based on the - 400 & 777 lineup, including updated cockpit and signature interiors like the 777. I was sorry to see CO get rid of them. But, admittedly, in CO configuration, they were sitting barely 10 pax more than their 'international' 757 used to many secondary European markets.
Really cool to see the inside of Omni's planes. Seen them land and be parked at the cargo areas at KIAD for a while now for military transport to Europe, mainly Poland, Ireland and Bulgaria, so this is something really cool to see. Great video!
Interesting trip report!
great video! I absolutely love the cabin! Theres something about short stubby variants of different passenger planes I really like, (762, A318, 736)
Me too! Crazy for the 736, the A318 and the 342😜👍
Same
Airbus A310? I totally agree too!
Thank you for sharing this video. I am following an Omni flight attendant’s vlog. Omni Air International is a very special chapter airlines. I wish I could work for this airline as a flight attendant.
Good video and like how you enjoyed the B762. Genuine and humble guy !
Great video! Haven't been on the 767-200 in many years. Great airplane. Pretty nice interior for an older plane. Thanks for yet another great trip report!
Awesome trip report. An airline you don’t see everyday :)
Even though the 767-200 is the smallest widebody , it's much superior to a 737 in my opinion. Widebody's are smoother and much more spacious.
It is not the smallest :) Airbus A310 is :)
The Captain you had is a top notch guy and pilot!
That is one smart interior for a 20 year old aircraft. They clearly went above and beyond with the service too.
What a rare treat!
I think this airline was supposed to wet-lease some 767s to Condor in summer 2020 on the Minneapolis to Frankfurt route, but the airline stopped the route for the year because of covid.
Welcome to San Juan! 🙂
Thanks for great video.
Lucky!
That is such a unique opportunity, good for you for jumping on it! How did they handle seat assignments? Did Sun Country have a 762 seat map online or was it all pre-assigned?
Seatmap online wasn’t available so Seat assignments were automatically given out at check in but I was able to move myself around at the airport kiosk
Omni always serves hot food on the military charter flights. Strange they didn’t do so on this flight.
It is all related to wet-lease agreements between them and Sun Country. They are supposed to do Sun Country's service.
Awesome 👌
How did sun country get a omni 767 to op there flight
Ever think of adding audio to your videos instead of having to read text the whole time? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing!
I've never had any interest in putting in voiceovers, I am really bad with public speaking and such so trust me, the texts are better...
@@theplanesguy haha fair enough!
What’s up with FR24 blocking the flight?
I think Omni had FR24 block most if not all of their aircraft because most of their operations are US military operations
You can really see how the longer range 737/32x have made this sort of aircraft obsolete. The economics of even a -800 must kill this aircraft never mind what it looks like against a 321neo.
The economics of the 767-200 were fantastic for CO. They used these birds to fly long and skinny flights from IAH to deep south america, and make some less dense Europe runs. The 321XLR might fill the void, but the 737-800 is incredibly far from it.
@@rileyw3660 That’s all true for longer rage work. But in the hay day of the -200 they were widely used on US transcontinental flights and similar 4 to 6 hour flights. Once the 737 got transcontinental range with the NG the -200 became a very very niche aircraft.
@@ATH_Berkshire For the missions Omni normally runs, the 762ER, especially the 3 ex CO birds, are an advantage not shared with competitors. You also won’t find many nonscheduled airline carriers with brand new airplanes in the US lol. Even the longer range 737s can’t go the distance this can.
Flying a Boeing 767-200 with Pratt and Whitney JT9D-7R4 engines is a must (if it's not too late!
How did Sun Country handle selling business class since they don't offer it anymore? Or did the business class cabin go out empty?
They just gave it to the people who paid for the extra legroom seats
I wish I knew about this! I would've flown out to MSP just to go for a ride!
