    Thanks for sharing. Does Tec mean chemical or chlorine?
    I got my bags this week, my liner is on its way, I'll get my rocks this weekend and start digging in 6 days 😎 I was reading about barley straw and lavender and I might put some in to help it get established it's supposed to be good for algae so I hope it can help out the first few months and in spring each year just during that blooming season.

      Hello,
      we are excited to hear that you will actually start digging in 6 days. - It would be great to get some pictures of your progress. Maybe you wanna send some to our email-address? ( schwimmteichschwimmer@gmail.com ).
      And we are keen on hearing how the barley straw and lavender effects the clearness of the water.
      Just make sure that no rotten parts stay in the water because then the nutrients will join the cycle again.....
      Acutally I have noticed a sunflower starting growing in our swimmteich. Now I am thinking to leave it there to see what it does to the water. Because it is a sunflower and I really like them....
      Will you get your liner in one piece. I think I remember that you told us that you got a black one, right? EPDM?
      All the best, ines

    Is there a way to design it if you don't want a deep zone? I only want a lap pool and regeneration zone. Thank you.

      Quite difficult. But we know that one project, where a swim pond with plants that kept beeing turbid was transformed into a swimmteich. It was only 2m deep. The rest was like a swimmteich. But in this case, it's obligatory to install a skimmer, I guess. They did that and it worked. The water has been clear for nearly a year now.
      But we would not advise it. The deep zone really has an important function.

      Hi Ron, I have just answered your question at your other comment, but I did in Euros. -
      So, 10.000 Euros are around 10.580 US Dollar.
      120 Euros - around 127 Dollar per m2
      150 Euros - around 159 Dollar per m2.
      1 square meter is around 10,8 square ft.
      Clear? - Best, Ines

      Lindy means, why vertical pond walls are forbidden, why do they need to be sloped?

    Thank you for sharing these interviews! They are great and very informative! I have a question about fill water. As stated in one of the videos, rain water is best. My question is whether it is ok or advisable to direct rainwater from a roof gutter system into a swimteich? This will allow a much greater volume of water to be captured and directed to the pool than only what the surface area of the pool would collect during a rainstorm. Thanks for any input and feedback!!!

    • @teichswimmer6746
      @teichswimmer6746  2 роки тому +2

      Dear Anthony,
      thank you for your question.
      Yes, in general rain water is the best. - BUT: if there is A LOT of agricultural dust in the area, then it might be rich with nutrients - and then it is not advisible to use it.
      Now, if we are talking about a gutter system, again, super. But we would not use the first bit that is running down the system because it might collect the nutrients that have accumulated and set in the system. If the gutter system is covered so that the wind cannot "drop" nutrients then it is the perfect water. - For the first filling the same as for refilling.
      WE try to avoid refilling at all. We allow the surface of our swimmteich to go down by 15cm. Only if the first gravel bags (pond bags) would dry out - that is the time we must refill. - If it is not an extremely hot and dry summer, the swimmteich gets filled up again naturally, by rain.
      I hope that answers your questions,
      best regards,
      ines von Teichswimmer

      Lieber Filip. - Der Teichdoktor sagt: mindestens 3m. - Aber wenn es die Natur nicht zulässt (Grundwasser z.B.), dann hat er auch schon Teiche mit 2,5m Tiefe gebaut. Aber viel seichter würden wir es nicht riskieren...... Ausnahme ist ein sehr sehr kleiner Teich. - Da reichen 2,5m Tiefe. Aber prinzipiell würden wir sagen: Je tiefer, desto besser!
      liebe Grüße,

    What stops the water becoming stagnant

    • @teichswimmer6746
      @teichswimmer6746  2 роки тому +2

      Dear Alice,
      it's the natural water circulation. It is based on the thermic flows (caused by the sun) and wind. Besides, everything you do with the water (you swim in it, you jump into it, you walk in it, you fish out leaves) effects movements of the water. Because of the special way of construction (conic walls, reg. zone,...) the water flows through the regeneration zone and down to the bottom of the deep zone.....
      That's enough to keep it from becoming stagnant.
      Best regards,
      Ines von Teichswimmer

      @@teichswimmer6746 Ok ! And what are the drainage under stonebags meant for ?

    • @teichswimmer6746
      @teichswimmer6746  Рік тому +1

      @@AutoNomades As the regeneration zone consists of tons of gravel, you install those drainage pipes so that the water can also run through that gravel. Through those pipes, the water circulation has access to most parts of the gravel, like that you avoid the emergence of anaerobic environment. The drainage pipes are abolutely necessary, otherwise the system would not work!
