  • Firefighters, police officers, business men, teachers, construction workers… Something that makes the NLL unique vs other sports is the athlete’s ability to hold down full time jobs, raise families AND play a professional sport. Devan Kaney speaks with some of our players about how, and why, they do it.

I wish it didn't have to be this way. These guys deserve more.
I love lacrosse more knowing the pros do it for the love. Alot of other sports the athlete's get paid millions a season. Then bitch and complain . What about the love of the game. Take away money and you'll see who the real professionals are.

It's on the fans to support.
I also like how NLL is on more platforms now TSN and ESPN . The Rock moving to a cheaper venue with less over head costs, smart. Let's just hope the players see some kick back.

I agree. I compare it to hockey - you can tell watching Jr hockey that the players are just in love with the game, but I don't find that same passion there in most NHLers. They've made it. What do they have to strive for anymore? That's just my opinion from nearly two decades watching hockey. NLLers are the most passionate bunch of athletes I've ever seen, because they are grounded by the realities of the sport. It keeps them level-headed, kind people.

I just wished the Toronto Rock didn't have leave Scotiabank Arena/Toronto in the first place. As a long time fan, I had seasons tickets since they first started playing at the then Air Canada Centre. However due to their move, I had to give up one of my joys, since I am disabled and can't get to Hamilton on public transportation. I hope they come back at end of their 5 year deal.

in due time the sports needs to grow more luckily the product is really really good so you dont have to worry about that but in due time it could be like a sport that get around 100k views on most youtube videos

For how exciting the games are, and how passionate the athletes are, the NLL isnt nearly as popular as it should be. When I bring new people to a game they love it. Lets fill those seats lacrosse fans! These guys and this sport deserve better.

The two lacrosse leagues should merge they just need to do like the NFL some indoor stadiums some outdoor also adjust the size of the field

Obviously these guys dont get payed enough for how hard they work and how exciting the games are. Just as good if not better than any NFL or Premier League match but they get payed pennies in comparison. As much as i want these guys to make more money i realize that we are lucky to be fans at such a special time in the history of this league and this sport.

Usually when athletes cant afford to quit their day jobs they arr called semi-pro. But i dont think that title is fitting because of how hard these guys play, they are fully professional. I prefer the term "working class athlete" and think its more accurate. NLL players are heros.

    PUBLIC OPPINION " NLL "
Should the NLL lacrosse BALL & NLL JERSEYS be augmented REFLECTIVE WEAR for better TV coverage & in general.
    BALL streak silver
JERSEYS stitch pipe pending on colors
RED reflectve TAPE wrap for goal post.
LIGHTING for Lacrosse in general is very graveyardish on TV and has been, if not the greatest issue with televising this sport from the start and is very lack luster in general in a sport that is very progressive. Relective stitch jersey augmentaion for the JERSEY BALL & GOAL would address this contrast issue.
Arenas are generally lit for ice and possess good matt and contrast and your probabley not going to change all the lights for the NLL. Not every team can be the Blackhawks however lighting the players and accessories would NOT affect play at eye level but would augment the sport for the fans officials and most importantly the replays.
    See (NLL 11 ball streak)
Electrify the sport free the y'arts.
