This is a valid concern for ADULTS. How much more so for kids? Who thought this was a good idea? More importantly, who thought it was a good idea to actually go through with it?

I got banned from Lyft because I wouldn't take this woman's kids to school. I told her that an adult would have to accompany the children. She made a false report, and Lyft sided with her. I had a 4.8 rating with over 5000 trips. I didn't have a dash cam to prove my innocents. I immediately got one and continued driving for Uber for 3 more years.
@@wallclock4648why so mean to some random old man on the internet? just because he’s old and has a beard has no bearing on him liking kids, or whatever you are implying with this comment. whats so wrong about being nice to people online?
In 6th grade I missed my bus to go home from school one day Learned about the existance of hitch-hiking from a book and wanted to try it Started walking down the highway with my thumb out, and a truck with no trailer stopped A fat man with a long beard stepped out and asked where my parents were, I told him they're at home he ended up letting me up front and showed me the truck while lecturing me on NEVER getting into a vehicle with strangers and NEVER trusting strangers Ended up taking me home, I basically forced him to follow the bus route so I could find my house. Dude gunned the truck a couple times, it was honestly really fun When my dad found out what I did he beat my ass
It's true he should have told the school he missed the bus. Hitchhiking is not safe these days. That truck driver most probably saved your life. Your dad was right to be angry, he was trying to instill upon you that you just don't accept a lift from anybody. Because, highly likely you will end up dead. That's why your dad got mad. The truck driver picked you up to save your life and get you home. There are weirdos out there, bad ones, who are driving around just looking for kids like yourself to coerce or trick you into their car. It's a dangerous world out there for a kid. Sometimes they pull up beside you and tell you your mom asked that you be picked up. He's never seen your mom. Or your dad. Run like f---- if that happens. It's happening all the time, there's a lot of it. Take care, be alert and stay safe. Don't get a lift with anybody, unless they are part of your family or somebody that your parents say it okay like....your friend's mom or something obviously cool. Don't take risks, don't chance it, you have more chance of danger than you have of getting home safe. Just go home, especially if you're on your own. That's it! There's nothing else - Go Home.
@@ToxicTeemoOCE 😆 that’s how kids were taught back then. Kids weren’t whiny little brats who called the cops on their own parents for punishing them, when they knew they were in the wrong.

I've heard from multiple old folks that there used to be next to no stigma about hitchiking with random people, they'd let you hop in, tell you about the stories they've got, then drop you off where you needed to be. Nobody was concerned about getting kidnapped, and parents let their children just run around the neighborhood. Not sure what time range that was, but it's funny to see the transition over the decades.
@@zankthegreat4291 Yeah, 60s and early 70s. In the late 70s and 80s many criminals and serial killers realized how easy it was to make random drivers in the middle of nowhere disappear however... the stigma would only grow from there.
@@zankthegreat4291I was born in 1969 so, was a kid in the 70's, teen in the 80's. The popularity of hitchhiking took off in the 60's with the whole hippie thing. And it seemed to be relatively safe till about the mid 70's. Then more and more stories started coming out about people going missing, especially women so, throughout the rest of the decade the practice began to decrease. In the 80's some people would still do it, but it was pretty uncommon. I actually have a hitchhikeing story. In 1984 I was 15 and got agry at my parents for moving away from Indiana, where I had a boyfriend I was crazy about, back to our home state of California. So, about a month later, I took off from San Diego and hitchhiked all the way back. Rode in a handful of cars, but mostly with truckers. Everyone was pretty nice and helpful, some even giving me money because I left with less than $20. But the trucker I rode with the longest and farthest (Southern Oklahoma to north west Indiana), decided to attack me on the last day. He thought, why am I giving this girl something for nothing? He was a big guy and had jumped on top of me and had me pinned down. Physically, I couldn't do anything so, I tried to reason with him. Talked about people doing things strictly out of kindness and all. Thankfully, after a while, I was somehow able to talk him out of it, but was so traumatized by it, within days my mind began to block out nearly the entire trip. I didn't begin to remember until almost a yr later. That was 39 yrs ago and it's still easily the dumbest thing I've EVER done. As for kids playing outside unsupervised. True. Almost all kids would be out playing till the street lights came on. There weren't all the gadgets and games, cable tv and videos that keep kids sitting on their butts indoors like now. We played hard all day and used our imaginations ( seeing an overweight kid or teen was pretty rare). And it's not like we were out alone... all the kids in the neighborhood knew each other, were out at the same time and knew each others parents. Most of the parents knew each other as well so, they looked out for each others kids.. There were still a lot of stay at home moms in the 70's too so, it was like having 10 moms on your street who just lived in different houses. I think the 70's was the last decade that was still a pretty idealic time to be a kid. People rarely know their next door neighbors now, let alone everyone on their street.
Oh back in the day. The government actually endorsed hitchhiking. One reason was because military members had to get to their bases etc. So they could just put out a thumb and have some random person help them get there. I stopped picking up people because I was driving late about 2am and saw a lady (18-19) walking in the rain with just a t shirt and little shorts. No shoes etc. I stopped and asked do you need a ride? She hopped in and told me she was fighting with her BF etc and had to run out of the house. Then I saw it. She held up a “Friday the 13th knife” and said “glad I didn’t have to use this though”. I was SO happy to get her out of my truck!!! I didn’t want to be an accessory to her crime. Or be a victim of it. Last stranger I ever picked up. That was about 25 years ago now.
I personally wouldn't want the hassle, but I can sympathize with wanting to take every opportunity to make an extra buck in this economy. What would be concerning is someone exclusively driving for Uber Teen... That would be sus. I'm not speaking from an informed perspective, but I can't imagine most drivers would want to do this if they knew they had the choice to opt out. There are too many opportunities for something to go bad for the passengers and the drivers alike, not to mention the likelihood of the passenger just being a bad fare goes up exponentially. Uber should just scrap it altogether.
@@Shootskas I'm not saying taking teens in an uber pays more than normal, I'm saying it's more rides per hour in a lot of places. If you are waiting on more people to request rides then having more "customers" will reduce how much you wait around for more "customers".
Before COVID I used to tutor a lot in person at kids’ homes. For over 10 years. I used to clarify with parents all the time that I never meet with students alone until I thought that I was just giving creepy vibes and obviously no sensible parent would ever do that so I stopped clarifying. A few months in I about 3 families left me alone with their daughters that were 14/15 and they had only known me for about a week. I had to remind them and one even said “oh sorry you just had safe energy” Parents have absolutely lost the plot, Uber teen is just meeting demand.
Thank you SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT ME AND MY FRIENDS!!!! I am the one in the front seat of the car in the David duke clip and a few others, and I just wanna say that you’re a great guy and the drive was so much fun!

@xWingzTV this happens even when you opt out. Parents just order Ubers under their name for their kids like it's no big deal. They have been doing this well before Uber teen was a thing

Kids are wild af now in days because of social media . I’m a fedex driver and last week 2 kids on bikes maybe 10 years old waved hi as I passed them and I waved back but right after I passed them they started chasing the truck yelling “hey daddy” loudly over and over Shit was embarrassing lol
My sister and I used to take Ubers home (at 14/15) before I got my license because we had no other way of getting home- the public bus system’s closest stop was 2 miles from home, mom always worked until 6:30pm at the earliest, and no one’s parents were willing to help us out. I think it’s kinda nuanced and not inherently wrong- especially for the purpose of getting kids home when they have no other option.
Problem is- your the exception not the rule. Most kids aren't as well adjusted/behaved as you sounded like. If I had uber at 13 I'd be taking it to the city to buy drugs.
Same situation here before uber had uber teen i had no other option than to act like i was 18, minded my business, and got to where i had to go. There was no other way home.
@@xan8123 I think Uber must have been a lot less regulated at the time I was doing this- would straight up get picked up from the school's parking lot and no driver ever batted an eye.
Those girls were testing you. Trying to trap you by offering you weed. No doubt. I would avoid Uber Teen at all costs. One time I denied a ride to a bunch of teens who were trying to get to school. There were also too many of them. I explained that they are disqualified because of their age and in a group too large for my car, and then they accused me of being racist (they were all black). Nice, huh?
There is no reason Uber should make a service to allow KIDS to take an Uber. I just turned 18 and I still agree with this message. This is extremely dangerous for the kids using the service and the drivers themselves.

This makes me uncomfortable too. I had to report a few predatory types who drive during after school hours mainly. I went off route once from one hitting on me in a scary way. Luckily I was the adult who happens to look like the actual 13 year old minor they were hitting on. -.-
A reminder that 90% of the problems with issues in teens and kids socializing comes from the fact they literally have no other form of transportation outside of parents, who they have to hope is in a good mood to both take them to where they wanna be and back home. Their choices are literally stay at home, walk to their destination (which is usually infeasible because its so far away), bike (if they even have a bike), or hope to god someone else is in a good mood to drive them to their destination. Most of these problems can be solved if we had adequate transportation around the US like buses or trains. We literally cant get to any far destination without a car. And they wonder why uber for teens is so appealing, a lot of these kids are DESPERATE to get out in their suburban prisons.
The fact they offered weed so many times pressing the matter was a bit...unsettling, to me. Amongst all the other factors. Not because it's weed, but because most people would just drop it without thinking after declining once.
I’m sorry if you grew up with innocent girls but I didn’t they were trying to fuck bruh or get him caught up being thirsty. These are the games these types play it’s fun for them.
Uber really trying to make uber drivers lives more problematic. Not to mention the safety concern to the teens. When did it go from "I'm not comfortable leaving my kids around strangers" to "I'll let my kid use an app so they can go anywhere with anyone" truely bizzare, and further reminder we live in a very odd "devoloping" time. Look forward to more detective Ed episodes!
I agree with most of what you said, but honestly, the idea of "not leaving kids around strangers" only fully developed in the last decade or so. Growing up in the 80s no one would think to question a 13-year-old kid taking a cab across town or walking around shopping complexes alone or only with friends but now since awareness of kidnapping has become more prevalent people have started to think more cautiously. Either way, I agree it still is a bizarre time because this seems like a step backward. I think kids should have the freedom to explore but this is excessive and unnecessarily dangerous :/
@@jared9504 is that nationwide or in your area? I agree, in theory, it'd be much better for kids to explore, but we know of the potential pitfalls, and generally people tend to live around a lot of other people which gives a wide variety of fucked up that can occur 😂 Kids need just enough room to fuck up and learn but not enough to permanently scar them, a fine line I have no idea how parents tread! And completely agree today is too cautious, definitely doesn't help kids develop and understand the ramifications of their actions!
@jared9504 Idk dude. I was born in '81 and remember the 80s vividly. My mom wasn't putting me in a cab alone. No way. I did get on a plane alone, but in that situation, you're surrounded by adults and would only have to scream to stop a kidnapping. An Uber ride is quite different for obvious reasons. You're alone in a car with someone you've never met. I agree with the freedom aspect, but like the other guy said, that's a very fine line for parents. Either way, I think we all agree that this is WAY too far. This sounds like an Onion article. We make up genders, spit on our flag, give our kids free access to the internet and porn, and let them take rides with strangers. Society is lost. We need God.
I think the problem is more for drivers having to put up with distracting kids not behaving. I certainly wouldn’t feel safe with unpredictable kids while I’m driving, and I’m 17
I'm feeling an array of emotions from the video, but I really appreciate you having the courage to speak about soooo many controversial topics confidently, especially with children involved. God bless humanities educators in whatever form they appear.. thank you and good luck

False accusations by teenage girls as well as underage girls are on the rise making this a very bad and dangerous idea for Uber drivers, especially for those without the dashcams recording the interior of the vehicle during fares.
Yeah. There was a teen who took his life because a girl lied, the boy jumped off the school roof and hours later the girl confessed. Another, 19YO was tricked by a teen girl and because of that, he ended up as an offender, she later said she lied. Then there was a church pastor, whom former ex members of the church hated (a family) so they got their 13YO to accuse the man for touching her, he was branded a pedo lost everything and took his life in his home. It was later revealed that the girl and the family set him up because not only churches are easy targets, but they outright hated the late pastor for kicking them out of the church. It is a cruel world out there.
Dashcams should be mandatory and provided by Uber if not readily available. So simple yet a cost cutting company that pays its drivers pennies like uber would never fit that in their budgets.
@@abbiereynolds8016 That’s the problem, they’re not any more vulnerable or innocent than the boys their age but our stupid society insists they are and that they can’t do any wrong. It’s mind blowing honestly…

I stopped driving Uber this weekend. Made a bunch of money on the bonuses and got out. Did 82 rides in 2 days to hit the bonus and decided no more for me. It’s a lot of fun to meet great people all of the time, but the downsides are too bad for it to be worth it. Bro 13 year olds can now call ubers? First of all thats terrifying kids get kidnapped all the time second if they do something stupid like damage the uber or anything like that you cant just kick the kid out or sue the kid like all around it should be 18 and above for a ride 16 year olds are terrifying
The vast majority of kidnapping and missing children are parental kidnappings where one parent is attempting to hide or take custody of the child without the knowledge or consent of the other parent
you are literally 13 yourself. what, did your mom never let you outside of the house, is that why you're so afraid of everything and everybody? you think an uber driver is going to kidnap you?
@jan-3356 I'm 13 because I'm concerned about kids being kidnapped for taking taxis? Going out side is completely different then using a app turning off the parental settings and making sure ur parents can't see what ur doing. Kids do dumb things all the time I'm just saying this is avoidable
there needs to be a clear and distinct cutoff between a child and an adult for legal reasons. it’s not a perfect system but it’s a hell of a lot better than the islamic way of sending little girls, some as young as 9 years old, into marriages with grown ass men. everyone matures differently but by age 18, most will understand how to operate as an adult and know right from wrong as any other adult does.
The recent incident where a bunch of teenagers got arrested because they wouldn't leave a McDonald's when a cop asked them to do so, multiple times, leaves me thinking this will end very poorly.
How can Uber even go for this business model? Here in Germany, taking a Taxi is basically making a contract. And teens cannot do that, as they are not contractually capable, unless one of the parents gives the go. Is that different in the US? Because I cannot imagine that it is.
you can just take taxis at any age im pretty sure. i was sixteen riding with a taxi driver that actually turned out to be a dad of a student at my highschool
An increasing amount of people in the US and other Western countries believe children can make contracts and can consent to things they couldn't possibly understand. A majority of my college peers in California sincerely believe children can consent to having relationships with adults. It is terrifying and I cannot wait to leave my home state. @MightyJabroni Only some people are liable for anything here, some of the time. Others are liable for things they didn't even do that are often times completely ridiculous. The best/most reliable tool I've found is simple and juvenile but accurate - every day is opposite day. Down is up bad is good free is imprisoned, you get the point. If it's being pushed in your face as good it's probably terrible. If it's being demonized and hard to find it's probably the answer.
Public transit has other adults and people around. And taxis come with their own risks - I actually have a few friends who had unmentionable experiences with taxi drivers. But the difference is with Uber, a kid has 24/7 access to order a car to pick them up anywhere that will take them to anywhere they want and its already paid for by a credit card on their account. A lot different than calling a taxi on the street
@@Driver_Eddie I'm still not seeing how the Uber is any different. Taxis can be taken at any time and go anywhere. The advantage with Uber is that you know who the driver is and where the car has gone. I would consider that a risk reduction vs a taxi.
Anyone can swoop in with a different car and make uo excuses. It’s a lot harder to kidnap someone driving a bus or a taxi which probably has GPS nowadays
@@TeeTafoya87 Uber has two gps sources. The driver and the passenger. They also know what driver picked up which passenger, and the intended destination. Along with times. Taxis don't have this.

You can definitely get a med card under the age of 18. Its about 50 times harder tho and that isnt an exaggeration. I had A Lot of issues as a kid, and long story short i was able to get my med card at 15. My school nurse even had some of my edibles and I had to go to her to "legally" take them at school. I stopped renewing it after the first year because I ended up not even getting the physical card and it would have costed around 500$ in appointments each time. I didn't stop using it for help though, but for minors getting approved by doctors is a VERYYY complicated process if you don't have something crazy like bad seizures or something along those lines.
What about kids that travel in the metro systems alone? We don’t have to treat kids like they are incapable of getting around because they can, yes they shouldn’t be with strangers in a car but so many kids travel alone in other ways. We don’t have to Infantilize kids every step of the way
I'm so glad this vid popped up on my monitor. I can't imagine a similar set-up going over to the Asian or the African continents. Really. If it gets adopted, may God have mercy on those innocent kids and cabbies. Goddamn nightmare! Even before Uber added Uber teens, as a gen z child from a low-income single household, my parent would allow me to use apps like Uber and Lyft because their job would literally make them work everyday, even work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. (We still do) Of course, I was always really mature for my age (trauma yay) so my parent never really had that much of a problem with me using these apps because they knew I was responsible enough to have my cellular data on and always watch for suspicious people. It’s really sad and depressing to witness the corporate greed and exploitation of hard working people who are just trying to live an honest living for themselves and their family. I hope things change for the better.
Ha, I don't know how to feel about this. On one side I get the concern (and annoyance), on the other side.. I used to get cabs fairly often once I started making my own money around 14.
I hope you at least kept a knife or spray on you. To be fair, most people probably wouldn't want to do anything to you (and I rode the bus myself sometimes too when I had to), but if I was a kid in current year, I wouldn't trust anyone enough to wait and find out.
As a (just turned) 15 year old, I am so glad that this was said. There are so many people who are super rude at a young age, but I was actually raised right. I was raised to be thankful for EVERYTHING, too, even something like an uber. Can't speak for my family about how bad communism was, since I didn't live through it, but it certainly made them grateful. Please remember that we all have feelings, no matter who it is! A few words can literally change somebodies entire day, whether it be in a good or bad way.
I drove for ride share service for 2.5 years. The stories I could tell, and the rides I probably shouldn't have taken people on. I had college kids hitting on all the time, and obviously politely refusing. I have found things in my car related to this story and had to dispose of them, and I drove in 'good' areas. The cities must have been crazy. (The most intoxicated person I ever drove home, and then helped to her apartment (With there friend) was a Barrister.). I always took this side gig job seriously, and always viewed myself as making sure people got home safely. I've even had to find emergency care for a lady that got a concussion prior to getting in the car, and passed out in my back seat. Thankfully I was quick enough to realize what might have been happening, and I got a thank you message a few weeks later. These streets are crazy. Very glad I don't do that anymore. The pay/conditions for drivers just got worse and worse.
This isn’t a groundbreaking idea. United States society makes it weird and dangerous. In Europe (or at least my country, Romania) anybody can take a taxi and feel sure that they’re gonna get where they need to go. And all it takes is a phone call, no parental supervision required.
I’m a High schooler, and Uber Teen allows me to get home when my parents can’t pick me up, my parents both work and the school doesn’t have a functional bus route. The only way I can get home is via a carpool, however those can be pretty unreliable as they depend on the extracurricular activities that the other person is taking, getting picked up by my dad, which is unreliable as although he may have some flexibility, it’s more likely he has a meeting, and if all else fails I Uber home. I have not had any crazy experiences either so it’s worked for me 🤷♂️
Fr I also take Uber to home when other transit systems fail. All these people in the comment section are overreacting, as long as you are not living in most rundown school we just want to get home and not cause any trouble to the Uber driver.
Something that's also scary is all the IR camera flashes. I'm sure some of the longer ones are Snapchats or Instagram videos but what a lot of people don't understand is how often your phone is taking pictures day or night. You can see some when some people aren't even looking at it or using it.
not going to lie ive been using uber since 14, i look quite a bit older and i get away with this all the time , ive been using uber i always try to be extra respectful and good manners and have had plenty of amazing conversations . keeping it 100 i think most teenagers are absolutely not mature enough to be taking ubers.
Bro the way iphones just flash IR light 24/7 is maddening, have we ever considered the environmental implications to animals that can see in the IR spectrum?
You can call and get in a taxi as a minor with no additional text or ping going to your parents and that has been available since taxis were a thing so i'm confused where the issue is..
I actually don't think parenting is tough, people just don't want to sacrifice their own lives to raise a child into a respectable adult. Young parents still feel entitled to doing what they want to do at the cost of developing their child's personality.

Ok, I’m a 15 year old brute male that weighs 200lbs, and it’s not fat. I use Uber under my dad’s account, as we have the same 1st name, and I can show my id if they ask. I would NEVER let any of my girl friends my age, or younger, get an Uber alone, because of my experiences I have had in Ubers, that would not be safe. If they need to go somewhere, I would go with them. It’s nuts that this company that has a scared record in public safety, would let a 13yo girl, who, by the way, sometimes look like 6yo’s, would ride in a car with a completely random stranger, is just stupid to me, not only for the parents, but for the company as well.
I did Uber for extra cash on the weekend only in Kansas City and I was surprised at how many parents allowed their 12,13, 14, year old daughters to take a Uber at 11pm to the store or friends house by themselves. I hated that because I knew if something happened to them girls that night I’d be the first suspect.
I think you are missing the bigger picture there, imagine if that kid wanted to destroy your life all she had to do was tell a lie like he touched me. Holy shit you would be done unless you had a camera and the whole ride recorded
Parents and Uber are placing the moral judgement to the drivers, when something goes wrong their putting the driver into a dilemma and guilt. Uber must add a damn policy regarding this
I feel sorry for teenagers today. You all would rather keep your kids locked up at home than teach them the responsibility necessary to go out and have fun and be young. I think Uber Teen is a fantastic idea, doesn't sound like the big scary thing you guys make it out to be.
Getting in a car with a stranger is like the first thing you're taught not to do as a child. It is rule number 1. All other rules are secondary to this. Kids can go out and ride a bike. There is absolutely no justification for allowing your children to get in a car with random strangers because you're too lazy to take them somewhere

In 6th grade I missed my bus to go home from school one day
Learned about the existance of hitch-hiking from a book and wanted to try it
Started walking down the highway with my thumb out, and a truck with no trailer stopped
A fat man with a long beard stepped out and asked where my parents were, I told him they're at home
he ended up letting me up front and showed me the truck while lecturing me on NEVER getting into a vehicle with strangers and NEVER trusting strangers
Ended up taking me home, I basically forced him to follow the bus route so I could find my house. Dude gunned the truck a couple times, it was honestly really fun
When my dad found out what I did he beat my ass
I don’t know why I found this so funny.
“Never get into a vehicle with strangers”
“Hey kid, you wanna check out the inside of the truck?”
Luckily you found a good person, or he found you. Good people do exist. But hitchhiking as a little kid is a super bad idea nowadays
Did you have your dad charged with assault?

@@zankthegreat4291Hitchhiking went out of style when Ted Buddy was caught in the 1970s.
I've said the same thing from the beginning. Any driver who see's "turn on teen rides" and thinks YES. Is not the driver you want taking teens.
You'd think that but it's also extra money, so not everyone choosing it is a criminal they could just want to do extra rides.

I agree, in theory, it'd be much better for kids to explore, but we know of the potential pitfalls, and generally people tend to live around a lot of other people which gives a wide variety of fucked up that can occur 😂
Kids need just enough room to fuck up and learn but not enough to permanently scar them, a fine line I have no idea how parents tread!

Awesome video!! I really enjoyed it!
P.S Thats really greedy of uber to allow teens to take rides, hopefully they remove it after they realize what a headache it'll be.
Where I’m from you can walk in any given weed shop and pay $150 no questions asked they send it to the crooked doc and it’s done
@@ryantylerMachete Honestly such a silly extra step lol
There’s no where a 13 year old needs to be going without a parent or guardian. It’s really that simple.
I'm an uber driver, 90% of the time I drive teenagers it's to or from school.
@@lando8913 irrelevant, they can walk or bike or their lazy parent can take them.
What about kids that travel in the metro systems alone? We don’t have to treat kids like they are incapable of getting around because they can, yes they shouldn’t be with strangers in a car but so many kids travel alone in other ways. We don’t have to Infantilize kids every step of the way
The key point probably being either they don't have parents or they have shit for brains for parents.
Yeah when you were 13 i'm sure you were glued to your parents hips too huh. The hell kind of take is this?
I'm so glad this vid popped up on my monitor. I can't imagine a similar set-up going over to the Asian or the African continents. Really. If it gets adopted, may God have mercy on those innocent kids and cabbies. Goddamn nightmare! I'll bet Uber would have done its due diligence with plenty of fine prints releasing itself from liabilities. Either way, what were they thinking? Market share? At whose expense? Thank you for this vid, man! Good job!
As the protective oldest brother to three little sisters.
All I can say is i'm grateful they became relatively grown up before all this shit.
Man-made horrors, my favorite dish. This is paradise to predators/groomers take advantage, who tf thought this was a good idea? I get it's difficult to some families to keep up with their kids while also working but common, a 13yo child needs some attention just don't dump this in other ppls hands bc not everyone will be nice like Eddie.
Imagine the smell.
Maybe all parents shouldn't have kids if they can't handle there own children
You know Uber vets their drivers, right? Besides, if it was such a danger, we’d already be hearing about the countless stories of cab drivers kidnapping kids, but we don’t.
@@krystiankowalski7335 yea they "vet" their drivers LMFAO
@@Azaqa Why do you have to put the quotations marks there? It’s just fine without them. They vet their drivers. You need a standard-level or above DBS check, which is the same check you need to have to be, say, a primary school teacher.
Eddie is underappreciated

I will absolutely turn down free weed.

The girl asking for your birthday...sketch
Knowing your birthday and calling uber immitating yourself as a driver ...
Im a teen(17) and Ive used it, Its very useful for me but I can defiantly see exactly how this can be abused by other minors
And no matter what, you'll end up in jail. They lie and underage, they get told "lessons learned"
the funniest part to me is the girl wearing the Navy bootcamp hoodie LMAOO😂
wow didn’t learn about this til now, absolutely wild. great vid!

Hey what a great idea, taking drugs from kids you don’t know! Some Uber guy.
This isn’t a groundbreaking idea. United States society makes it weird and dangerous. In Europe (or at least my country, Romania) anybody can take a taxi and feel sure that they’re gonna get where they need to go. And all it takes is a phone call, no parental supervision required.
Even in the US: teens take public transportation. Bus, light rail, taxi, etc. Kids will fly unaccompanied...
Yea, nothing could possibly go wrong with this.
Isn't this a horrible idea? Shit fire and save the matches....no way!
Yo can they make dash cams any bigger I want my view of the road completely obscured
You can see some when some people aren't even looking at it or using it.
im pretty sure its apple face ID
they were taking snaps ats some points for sure
There's also a new iPhone thing where it flashes for every notification
So it looks like your taking photos
Just faceID bro. It's not that deep
@@Boxtermaiti Yea, it's not that deep but you never get to see it
not going to lie ive been using uber since 14, i look quite a bit older and i get away with this all the time , ive been using uber i always try to be extra respectful and good manners and have had plenty of amazing conversations . keeping it 100 i think most teenagers are absolutely not mature enough to be taking ubers.
Bro the way iphones just flash IR light 24/7 is maddening, have we ever considered the environmental implications to animals that can see in the IR spectrum?
You can call and get in a taxi as a minor with no additional text or ping going to your parents and that has been available since taxis were a thing so i'm confused where the issue is..
not many people get to actually record that "i fucking knew it" moment, but this guy got the whole thing AND made a video about it
uber teen and roblox dating are two predatory ideas that are actually being executed,,,, like wtf
Dude Eddie! Your page is blowing up!! I’m so freaking happy for you man. You’re an awesome dude.
I actually don't think parenting is tough, people just don't want to sacrifice their own lives to raise a child into a respectable adult. Young parents still feel entitled to doing what they want to do at the cost of developing their child's personality.
agree have family member being a crybaby about being in their youth to enjoy at 31 but YOU HAVE A KID AT THE AGE OF 5 stop being selfish and take care of your responsibility nobody made them do it.
i think youre right dude. we have some sick parents nowadays. im convinced this world is getting worse by the generation morally.
i was riding lyfts when i was 13 back in 2017 every month with friends. there’s nothing crazy about this we would ride 5 deep in the back seat no one told us no.
Ahh the choices we make in life...
I mean, who doesn't wanna smoke weed some PRETTY Teen girls? Lol, but as adults, we have to make judgment calls. When they look younger, just SAY NO! LOL 👌
On a side note, my boy needs a new girlfriend Lmao she’s going around lying about being in college and inviting random men into her house to smoke weed… yeah I’ll leave it at that 😂
bro i didnt wanna say it cause i thought id get blasted in the comments.... not that eddie would do anything, but lil bros gf was tryna to cheat... or at least create drama with the bf. chick is str8 up underage and messing with an uber driver with a bf???? i thought it was just chicks my age being this crazy (mid 20s) these generations are not getting ANY better

Curious to know what kind of bad experiences you've had as a passenger
Still didn't answer the question
I did Uber for extra cash on the weekend only in Kansas City and I was surprised at how many parents allowed their 12,13, 14, year old daughters to take a Uber at 11pm to the store or friends house by themselves. I hated that because I knew if something happened to them girls that night I’d be the first suspect.
I think you are missing the bigger picture there, imagine if that kid wanted to destroy your life all she had to do was tell a lie like he touched me. Holy shit you would be done unless you had a camera and the whole ride recorded
the problem is that these girls are even going out to do this shit, doesn’t matter who’s car they’re in
So, you’re a grown ass dude tellin other grown folks not to do Uber teen but you do it? Or was that just a “one time thing” like your weed habit?
The David Duke joke was pretty funny 😂
"this is not a village, we don't know your kids" 💯
finally got recommended another one of ur videos after a very good while
Parents and Uber are placing the moral judgement to the drivers, when something goes wrong their putting the driver into a dilemma and guilt.
@@joefoulger3510 it's uber, it's a controlled situation, not just some random stranger.
@@andpurch that's not how that works. There are 100s if not 1000s of cases of Uber drivers committing crimes on the job. It is absolutely ridiculous to allow children to get into an Uber unsupervised
respect to front seat girl tho, i feel like from body language u can tell she's the one 'voice of reason' in the group (5:30 for ex)
I’ve been using Uber since I was 15 never had any issues nor did it ask for I.D or anything like that
I would never let my 13 year old daughter be picked up by some random Uber driver. Maybe if we had full self driving cars so you take out the human factor, but still probably not until 16 would I be ok with it.
