you can open the hatch.... i just got done fininshing installing mine anddd i gotta say i hate it. will be returning it. by the way these instructions blow ass.
at first i was like oh cool, but then the cheesy cable and you can't open your hatch,I'm 6,2 i would hit my head every time i open it.and not a big fan of the little spacers,i agree with others keep working on it and come up with something better.and show the car out in the sun not in a dark warehouse after your done please.
How come every brand that sells this kit excludes the 2008 WRX hatch specifically? It is the same as the 2009 and 2010 when it comes to the wing and trunk..
@@sammocammo8729 I installed it without the two spacers that require you to drill and it worked fine but the wing rattled a little when i would close the trunk which i found annoying. i then reinstalled it with the 2 spacers that require you to drill and it was super easy and the rattle on closing the trunk was noticeably less and the wing felt more secure overall.
this is a pretty poor effort at fixing a flaw of this car. Subaru from the factory should have raised the wing by the same amount this kit does but also offset it further back to further improve airflow over the rear window preventing it getting so dirty. if the spacers in this kit were actually aerofoil shaped and allowed for offset rearwards as well as upwards then you would still be able to open your hatch to a usable degree without stupid restriction cables and the airflow would be better. I expected better from Perrin for the price of these. also AliExpress has the same exact product not branded for waaay less. for AliExpress' price this is forgivable but not for Perrins price. also next time please remember that lights exist when shooting a video.
This mod looks like crap. I'm not certain if there is some sort of aerodynamic advantage, and if there is, Perrin should be advertizing it along with the install process. Either way, the mod certainly detracts from the aesthetics of the vehicle, and the possible benefits from the additional downforce it might provided are clearly outweighed by the hack looking fitment. Come on Perrin, you guys can do better than this can't you?

10/10 for looks. 2/10 for opening of rear hatch. A good start Perrin, but not finished yet.
this is great to get air flow over your rear window and help keep dust off of it
PERRIN Performance Do you plan on replying to any of the comments below?
that gap looks like its not seated correctly, and you loose full function of the hatch? hard pass.
I bet that'd look great with my static-cling door flames.
hmmmmm no rear 3rd brake lights and things on the road will get into the wing through the openings.... i guess
cant wait to do this
Looks cool but the lack of function with the hatch gets to me. I guess I'll have to settle with a gurney flap for function/aesthetics.
looks like the subie has active aero which looks cool

The 08 is different in the wing and trunk smh 😂
looks like it... deal killer
just a light tint vinyl over those tails?
there is literally no point to drilling the hole and threading that screw into it.
Frugal Garage why not?

But how do you remove the panels beforehand?
They sway bars good?
i like it.. :)
hi just a question..
what 'specific year' of STi or WRX hatchback 'rear wing' spoiler would fit on a 2008 WRX hatchback?
pls and thanks!
Ever figure this out?
So the hatch is now useless?

now i wish i got a hatch lol
does the 3rd break light still use?
