Fun fact: If you were born in Adelaide between 1992-98, there's a 60% chance that Tony Modra is your dad

I only saw him play live on one occasion at Victoria Park in 1994. We were standing right behind the goals and I have to say that in thee hundred plus AFL games I attended I never saw a player cop even half ass much abuse as Modra copped that day from the Collingwood ferals (and I watched more a couple of games in the Animal Enclosure at Moorabbin). Think of every appalling thing you can say to another human liberally laced with F and C bombs and threats of violence. I felt sorry for the poor bloke in the end.

      Yeah I agree.
Modra doesn't give any reason to hate him.
He is what the game should be about.

The game of AFL evolving from the power forwards in the early 1990's regardless, you'd have be pretty pissed to some extent, with Coleman's won by 65 goals nowadays and 129 goals personality yourself didn't win it. But fortunately Tony Modra won it 1997 and it just reminds of Jason Gillespie scoring 201 not out and being a smart arse asking Steve Waugh, Mark Waugh etc " so what's your highest test score?"
