Flexy Pole Combo cocoon

  • Playing with some bendy pole moves. Curse you micro-bend!! You know those times when you think you reached a straight leg and you’re super excited about it...and then you watch the video 😢.... Nah I’m ok with it. Considering that I pretty much blew out my right shoulder less than two months ago and couldn’t even raise my arm over my head for a couple weeks. Despite it still not being 100% I’m pretty happy that I was even able to work on leg grabs again even if my shoulder doesn’t have the same reach or mobility as before. I’m still gonna call it a win. As many times as my body has failed me and fallen apart on me I’m still so grateful for the things it has been able to do. Nothing lasts forever, so appreciate what you have!

    Any tips for flexibility to reach the leg … my leg is far
    I do all the slips …. But the arch 😢

      Possibly hamstring flexibility? Try brining the leg down with it bent so you can get it closer and then extend it after you've grabbed it.

    Wow just wow. Back flexibility is my enemy. Working on it but don't seem to be making any progress.

      Focus on developing your shoulder and upper back flexibility and strength. You really don't want to use your lower back anymore than is necessary.

      Thank you Steve-o. I like that cocoon into a butterfly...I would say that's kind of a representation of my life over the last couple years.

    Do you have any tips for working on shoulder flexibility? For me, grabbing the foot and rotating the shoulder is the hardest part of cocoon

      I have a tutorial on stretching and developing active flexibility in the shoulders here: ua-cam.com/video/anNkVxPyDic/v-deo.html
      This will help with the rotation part because the more flexible and strong your shoulder are the easier that part is. I do have some other shoulder exercises that I do that specifically target that foot grab development. I'll add that to my list for future tutorials. But in the meantime, check out the video link above and it might be all the boost you need.
