So it only took 12 years to finally realize that Dragons Dogma could be a successful ip. Wow.
While I understand your sentiment, we need to remember what other games released around the time Dragon's Dogma and the Dark Arisen expansion released. Prior to it was Skyrim and Dark Souls. And in 2013 where the expansion released, was a year packed with huge games. GTA V and Bioshock infinite being some of the huge names.
Capcom didn't want to compete with other similar games at the time, because of how other companies made their fantasy games their "key" game
Meaning they put lots of effort and time into their game no matter what the "IP" was, instead of just being another short project without an identity
Anyone can dish out a game within 6 months maybe a year, but it takes 5+ years to come out with something that can compete with other quality games who also received 5+ years of care..😂

They also don't want to steal the hard earned shine of Monster Hunter without cannibalizing their ip's

They reallllly need a permanent endgame. I wish we had something like the Everfall again... unmoored was great but the time limit was ridiculous. Ridiculous as in, why? Sure story wise whatever. But can't we have another form of the unmoored world that doesn't have a time limit?

Doing the beacons will stop the fog but you can only sleep so many times so eventually you'll run out of monster spawns. You can still explore to your hearts content.
Tbh, it could have been a neat ng+ feature to have the first playthrough be timed, then subsequent playthroughs you could stay there as long as you wanted.
For those who have difficulty finding a dullahan, go to endgame, they are everywhere ^^ specially near bridges.

Knowing where they spawn is a bitch if you don't look it up, and the time they spawn is weird, very early morning. 3AM basically.
A follow up tip for the using the oxcart to get into Bakbatthal. If you still have the Gaol Key that Brant gives you as part of his quest, you can have Ibrahim duplicate for you at the scrap shop. And unlike other forgeries, it's a usable key. That way you can keep the Gaol Key after giving Brant back one and just have it on you for anytime you get locked up. You don't need to bother with the makeshift keys at all.
A lich can revive anything too… had a fun experience with a cyclopse that kept coming back to life. Took me ages to work out what was going on 😅
I waited for years for DD2 love both games and glad new people enjoy it.
I don't know if anyone catches this little detail. If you get to the Sphinx before obtaining any seeker's token, you get a different dialogue from the Riddle of Rumination. Accepting the quest to look for any seeker's token will also get you a finder's token just right beside the token.
congrats Itsuno, your dream IP is a key brand now. it can only get better from here. who knows how the IP will grow in the future? i'm looking forward to it. maybe my top 2 IPs of theirs will both be their top sellers too, consistently getting insane resources for regular releases, someday. those being Monster Hunter and Dragon's Dogma.
in dd1, the gore chimera wasn't undead, it just had the spell in the fight to revive them and it had the same visuals as a healing spell.
im really happy that dragon's dogma is a key brand now, it my favorite rpg ( for now at least )
DD can potentially be the zelda from capcom, a game that can have a base lore but doesnt need to be atached to a straight out story telling, each story can be on a diferent time with just mentions of other events, giving avery lose conection, but with that they can do watever they want as long as they respect the core elements of the game, hopefully they will se it like that and the expansion will be bigger so entice more people to buy the game
@@PiscesAustrinus another old franchise that's like that is Final Fantasy. that one and Zelda are a bit further though, they often keep less than Dragon's Dogma will. i do agree that this could mean a massive franchise that always feels fresh and gives you reason to revisit each game.

Dullahan has too many effects around it to even notice anything but a glimmer on the sword when I’m struck down into that tree 46m away from the fight
Just finished my first playthrough as a Warfarer including unmoored world 70+ hrs.. one of the most enthralling & fun games I've played in a long time.. Just booted up NG+ gonna focus on fighter vocation now. Love this game..I do hope for more vocations & more enemy types..

honestly, Dragons Dogma deserves being a key brand for Capcom, the first one was spectacular and the second is as close to an amazing sequel as you could get it deserves all the love and attention its finally getting

I did the carry NPC with ferrystone on the mystic archer elf in the unmoored world, her and the dwarf showed up with me on the other side 😂 I happen to try it because of your sphinx video
Didn't know about the cart being able to sneak into the gate. Hell yeah. I'll have to give that a try if I ever play the game again.
You can use the thiefs ability plunder to steal items form some NPC's. I was able steel arrows form Elf in Vernmoth
Here’s some thing that’s really cool. I’m telling you guys go try it right now. Basically equip either the archer or thief voc. Then unequip your weapon. Now go and have fun with your fists. It is so satisfying. There’s special moves that you can even do and you surprisingly do quite a bit of damage. It makes the game feel totally different but really good at the same time
Everytime i get arrested theres always a gaol key in the cell if you break the vases.
I like using Empyrean in unmoored because of all the undead and it's like a huge lantern.
Yeah i found out the hard way about the Unmoored World storage when i saw that i had 99 rotten meat
Dragons Dogma is a great brand that needs some fleshing out of narrative and the universe. With proper care it could be one of the great franchises.
I maxed out my Wyrmslife Crystals to 999 when I brought a thief with plunder into the Unmoored World.
Idk if no one knows or maybe it's so known no one talks about it, but when I was in unmoored Medusa spawned every day until my pawn had that "headache". Then she remained dead til I left. Just saying, easy way to complete that badge while your there.

Another tip is to make a forgery of the unlimited gaol key captain brant gives you for the story quest.

Before you go to the Unmoored World I would Recommend you to Rest for 3 days minimum. You will know that your at the end of the game when the game tells you that you should rest before going forward. I wonder why the small shops don't have full inventory with so many days being passed. Like if a month has passed and you bought items (like Dried foods (at one of the food stalls in Bakbattahl for an example) How come they aren't at full inventory? Also resting more days does change how much inventory some shops have. Like if you bought all the ores from the small shop (in front of the 30K home in Bakbattahl.) In 7 days He will have more inventory than he did by resting for 3 days.
Can you stop the goat from reviving the heads by using a silence spell upon encounter?😮

The Pathfinder Dragon needs to be a boss fight,kinda of a waste to make a new dragon design, and just use it to get climbed up on
End game (unmoored world) quest timer ruined it IMO.
It’s fairly easy to get around that by just not resting and using items to recover lost health. You can eat without sleeping and change abilities without it too. It’s not a perfect solution but it is one.
You can destroy the red crystals to extend the end of the world timer

Almost every one of their dogma 2 videos has bullshit titles like "GAME BREAKING SECRETS" or videos of straight up recycled information. They included the exact same mystic spearhand skills that allow for unique traversal in 4 separate videos it's absurd.
I hope sdlc will bring back the Senechal as a boss and take my arisens face and job

If Capcom is making DD a key IP, hopefully that means they'll be able to come up with a half decent story for once. DD2 had so much wasted potential in many ways and I hope they can dedicate the proper resources to the franchise going forward.

They need to fix leveling ! What's the point of lvl to 999 if your stats cap at such low numbers ! ? And to even maxout does you have to get to lvl 250 makes no sense

I hope the expansion picks up after the true ending it was such a somber and beautiful way to end. Hero and pawn faded away with oblivion, the writer of the story casted out from its narrative and the world born anew. If it picks up after the true end it could show our hero’s still alive in a foreign land with all new enemies armor etc.
The story could be about trying to get back to Vermund
