Purely out of personal choice I apparently don't fit into the categories listed. There's no plastic guns here. No striker fire or magazine fed autoloaders. Just single and double action revolvers. Pistol caliber leverguns and a side by side shotgun. My pre-election purchase was a new Single Action Army in 45 Colt. Reckon I just don't qualify as "trendy" by today's society. 😏
@@deuceandguns Yup, I do just fine with mostly 19th century technology. 😁 But your points in this video are very valid, especially for more contemporary folks. Good work. 👍
I favor "the steel wheel" as well, typically carrying one on my hip more than anything else (I do usually have a Kel-Tec P32 in a pocket as well). My go-to long gun is a Winchester lever in .30-30, despite owning both an AR-type and an AK-type. My bedside handgun is a Ruger Police Service Six that was once my dad's duty sidearm. Next to it is a Smith and Wesson Model 67-1 that duplicates my first agency-issued sidearm. So, yeah, I'd say I'm pretty much with you here.
@@Just1American1966 Well now. Did 30 years "on the job" as they say myself. Third generation peace officer in fact. On the street it was a 4" S&W mod 28 357mag. In CID it was a 4" stainless steel Ruger Police Service Six. Your dad had good taste! 👍 Small world huh? 😉
Nothing wrong with the wheel guns or levers. I keep a Security Six, Rossi R92, Henry 22lr lever and a 20 gauge coach gun on hand. They were my get home from Kalifornistan guns.
I live in a state where you can’t even get the Rossi or a Ruger 10/22 without a license because ALL semi-auto rifles are restricted, or just AR-15s 22s and 12 gauges are nice because you can buy ammo at WalMart (you can also only buy ammo at FFLs in this state)
I may not agree with some of the choices, but do agree on the firearm types. Thanks for the video and making me think of those things. Times a wastin'.
Winchester Wildcat has too many delicate plastic parts that can break. The Kel-Tec 2000 has a fold up barrel and if you somehow mess that up so if it doesn't line up properly when folded down you are screwed. I went with the Ruger PCC.
I love it. My list would be in this order: $300 Mossberg 500 or Maverick in 20 ga or Rem 870 12 ga, used or new $500 AR-15, used Glock or M&P 9 mm pistol, Ruger 10-22 rifle, & a .308 bolt hunting/ precision rifle. After this build up ammo & magazines. Take any class or match you can get into. Practice, practice, & practice dry fire.

20G at a good pawnshop. great deal, low recoil. semi common shells, perfect for teaching kids/wifes how to use a long gun. Picked up a barely used discontinued pump model for 150, the few left retail for 212-250. Same prices as most O/U singles new via websites
The Keltec P17 22lr is around $200 with 3 16 round mags. Better sights and trigger than a G series. Tisas, PSA Daggers or BCA Grizzly for cheap center fire pistols. Nothing wrong with the Glock LEO trade ins. Barrels are about $100. Not a Taurus fan. You can get a new 10-22 for around $200. A takedown is $400. $400-450 for a Gen 3 Keltec Sub2k. Only 4.25 lbs. I am an old guy so I voted early in case I didn't make it to election day.
G22/23 are GREAT OPTIONS. Pretty much all LEO trade ins in 40SW can be had at good prices. Mossberg Maverick 88 is rock solid. You could get a Taurus G-series pistol (I love the G3), but for a little more $$$$ you can get a Ruger EC9s, Max or Security 9, a SW SD9 or a Beretta APX.......all are sturdy and can be had for under $300. Hi-point carbines, especially the 10mm, are a great way to go as well. Hi-Points are bulky, ugly and equally rudimentary, but they're cheap and they consistantly function, which is really what matters most. Hard to go wrong w/a Ruger 10/22 rifle.

You forgot the Ruger AR15 which is actually slightly cheaper than the S&W version and it is a good one. With the CMMG conversion bolt for 22LR I can shoot 22LR through the Ruger AR15. As for uppers I would look at 8.6 BO myself.
