    He was a really excellent police officer. I had the pleasure of working at City Hall for the past 30 years with him in a different department. This was an excellent interview. So glad to know he went out there and got at least some of the answers to what happened to these individuals.

    • @AnnAndNala
      @AnnAndNala Місяць тому +10

      @@marietteestabrook4098 It is terribly sad. And it's a tragedy how anyone (crazy, cruel, drug addict, murderer etc.) can have children and there's nothing the rest of us can do about it but pick up all of the broken pieces (and murder victims) that happens from that. But there's also a lot of people who endured horrific childhoods and do not kill or hurt others. They don't want others to go through the pain that they experienced. We have to do better in our society, and forcing women to have children (and punishing if they decide not to) is definitely not an answer.

    • @sweettina2

      MANY kids in this country and around the world have horrific awful lives....they don't go around planning and carrying out evil plans, torturing and choking innocent young ladies to death! A serial killer! There are some that had very good lives. So??
      You people are so programmed to blame somebody or something else instead of putting blame where it goes and taking accountability! You must watch too many movies where the victims become the bad guys and the villains are suddenly pitiful, hurt good bad guy. Ridiculous.
      Sometimes people with mental issues or bad lives are evil!

    I was raised atheist. When I was 18, I was kidnapped on my way to work, at gunpoint, by a serial killer. I would be his sole survivor. Being in the presence of such great evil, it caused me to believe in God. I figured that if the devil was real, and he is, then God must be real too! The devil made me believe in God...my escape was miraculous, so the devil made me believe in God, and miracles. I didn't become a born again Christian til I was 32, because Christians themselves made it difficult. We have to love people to Christ. Blame, shame and guilt do not work. Those are negative, and of the devil. It helps that I knew so many years of not being saved. I know what works, and what doesn't. Love does the work of God. He can operate through love, speaks to us through love, and heals through love. God is love. Those who are hateful, and claim Christ are lost. The hate in their hearts is a barrier between them and Christ. Those who worship an unregistered sex offender and convicted felon are lost. I almost feel sorry for them, then I remember that *hate* led them away...if they didn't have hate in their hearts they couldn't have been decieved.
    You cannot hate your way into heaven...

      @alisongreen7576 Місяць тому +5

      It’s not about minimising his responsibility, it’s about understanding in the hope of prevention.
      Samuel Little had a typical start for a criminal- born in jail to a teenage prostitute mother. Poverty, abandonment, neglect, abuse- we know this produces violent offenders. And yes- lots of kids with very similar trauma grow up and never hurt anyone or commit any crime.
      By studying these “perfect storms” of circumstance and possibly genetics or epigenetics, maybe we can prevent the development of these people so that there are far less victims in the future.

    • @HowlingFantods
      @HowlingFantods Місяць тому +1

      @@alisongreen7576 Maybe true but I dont hear anyone proposing solutions. Just trying to "understand". Its all about empathizing with the criminal. We know exactly the type of childhood which creates these people and until we are willing to take dramatic action, like taking the children from the parents or sterilize them, its all lip service. Clearly this type of psychologizing crime has lead to more criminals, less severe punishments for criminals and a glorification of the criminal.
