As a Wrexham fan of 30 years I absolutely love to see people getting invested in the TV show and learning about and sharing our love for this club. We aren't unique in the UK, there are plenty of communities and clubs with a similar attachment, and it's great to share that very special part of British life with the world. All are welcome. Rob and Ryan have done so much for this club and region already. It's brilliant being part of this ride.
The parade was actually about 10 days after the Boreham Wood match (there was the final away match a few days later) - if you notice in the final shot of the parade, there’s a new lighting gantry (diamond-shaped lights) in the background, which was erected in the time after the Boreham Wood match (all 4 gantries were replaced before the new season, the old ones had been there since 1959 - nearly as old as I am!, and needed to be replaced for modern standard tv coverage). The better lights were handy for the 2 concerts the Kings of Leon did on the temporary stage erected on the site of the Kop (supported by the Declan Swans!) over the bank holiday weekend at the end of May. Both Rob and Ryan rode in the 2nd bus with the womens’ team (the 3rd bus was club staff). That 40,000 turnout was the police’s estimate - police crowd estimates tend to be rather conservative, so it could have been quite a bit more. I was slightly disappointed that they didn’t have Wayne from The Turf explaining that the Turf (and several other pubs in Wrexham) didn’t open the day after the Boreham Wood match because they’d been completely drunk dry that night! Cedwyn Scott (the Notts County penalty taker) posted an appreciative comment on one of the #WrexhamFX threads on X/Twitter responding to this episode and got nice responses from both Rob and Ryan. Unfortunately he injured his knee in late August and isn’t fully recovered yet, but I’m sure we all wish him a quick recovery. Incidentally, apart from the men’s and women’s teams winning their leagues last season, so did both the men’s and women’s youth teams (though they don’t have promotion!). Looking forward to season 3 - not all plain sailing but going pretty well, and they’re only a quarter of the way through the season so far 😊. However don’t expect to see the new Kop in season 3, the original plans were for it to open for the start of the 2024/25 season, but there are still a few financing and planning issues to sort out with Wrexham Council, so I’d expect it to be ready sometime in early 2025 if all goes well…
Fun fact Elliot lee’s dad is a legend for Newcastle United my team I support in premier league. He still comes to our games and does public speaking for our team. He’s classed as an adoptive Geordie
His dad made a reference to it in the episode of Welcome to Wrexham he and Elliot were on. Elliot was saying he and Ollie Palmer went out and he didn't think they paid for a single drink all night. His dad, without missing a beat, just said "I haven't paid for one in 20 years"😂😂😂
I really enjoyed re-watching WtW with you and kudos to you both for your commitment to avoiding spoilers. Since the series is obviously focused primarily on Wrexham, they didn't show any of the play-off drama other than Notts winning the final match via penalty shootout. Wrexham of course gained automatic promotion by winning the league. Teams finishing 2 to 7 went to the play-offs. #2 Notts & #3 Chesterfield got first round byes while #4 Woking hosted #7 Bromley and #5 Barnet was at home to #6 Boreham Wood. You were right about Boreham Wood fighting for position in the rankings as they finished 2 points behind Barnet and thus had to play their play-off match on the road. However, home field advantage didn't seem to help as both Boreham Wood and Bromley edged their opponents 2-1 to advance to the semi-finals. Bromley scored in the 9th minute of added time to tie Chesterfield at 2-2, only to have Chesterfield finally win with a goal at 13 minutes into the first extra half of 15 minutes. Meanwhile, Boreham Wood - the same team from this episode - was leading 2-1, only to have Notts score the equalizer at the 7th minute of 10 minutes added time. Neither team scored in the first 15 minute half of extra time, then Notts score the winner at the 15th minute of the second half of extra time. BW couldn't respond in the 4 minutes added time and that was that. The play-off final, #2 Notts vs #3 Chesterfield was played at Wembley. Notts fell behind early at 6 minutes and couldn't score to equalize till the 88th minute. They went to the first 15 minute extra half and Chesterfield promptly scored at the 3rd minute. Fortunately for Notts, there were 6 minutes added time and they scored 3 minutes into that frame. The second 15 minute half was scoreless and that's why they went to the penalty shootout, the ending of which you saw. Now you know why it's so hard for the 2nd place team in the National League to advance via the play-offs.
I love Danielle , after the 3rd goal “ they can’t suck me in again “ then the Rocky music bells start , by the 3rd ball she has both hands covering her face , a minute after that she’s crying like we all were , watch it again it’s comedy gold
The population of Wrexham is just under 45,000. To have a crowd like that in a smallish town is amazing, even though people travelled miles to get there it's still mind blowing that 40,000 people showed up

Brilliant , I think everyone had the same reaction as you , the music choice and editing in this last episode really captures the soul of what happened and happening at Wrexham and notts co . And the entire lower leagues at the moment , simply perfect episode and your reaction was a joy to know I’m not alone , I love the Paul mullin Michael Jordan reference , you must do season 3 when it drops , your reaction videos were a big part of my experience of falling in love with Wrexham
Just to let you guys know, Welcome to Wrexham Season 3 is scheduled for a Spring 2024 release. This means instead of a year to wait on the next season, we will be getting it in like 6 months!!!😊😊😊😊
You'll find loads more footage of the post game celebration, trophy photos, and the parade on UA-cam, mostly from Wrexham AFC's account so I assume it was all shot by the doc crew. I'm surprised this episode wasn't over an hour because there is so much great footage.
@TouchyReactions Pubs and clubs around the town were showing the game so people were drinking all day.The game kicked of in the early evening so by the time we got out into the clubs they were nearly dry.
Great episode. If anything the celebrations here seemed more downplayed than some of the actual footage! I bet they're saving some footage up for next season. Can't believe they didn't have the shot of Phil standing in front of a sea of people. It's one of the most cinematic things i've seen on live TV! lol
Now you need to go watch the videos. The players posted from that day. Ben Foster‘s video is amazing, but there are a lot of them from the day of the win. Would love if you did a video reviewing those, but they are way better than what was shown in the documentary! Paul Rudd posted a video of the moment the game ended, and both Ryan and Rob just collapsed. It’s like all the air went out of them from the relief of the wind. They had carried so much weight and stress, and it was like it just all blew out of them at that moment .
Actually, I've got a bit of a theory about that. I guess the documentary team know that they've got to sustain the excitement for at least another season (especially now, given the recent renewal) and felt like this moment, although climactic can't feel too much like the epic conclusion to the story... Either that, or their budget for the NL broadcast footage didn't stretch to the celebrations. Either way, this episode, was probably just the right length and fitting for casual fans of the team in it's own right.🙂

Great reaction, I've always had a soft spot for Wrexham because when I was a kid they were a great team, so it was so sad to see their decline over the years, but now they're back it's wonderful to see, you should react to their FA Cup match against the mighty Arsenal in 1992, that was an incredible match, and one of their best ever players Mickey Thomas famously scored an amazing freekick which is still talked about today, I grew up in the same little village as Mickey and he was in this video watching that last match in the stand.
