The Scotty effect........ It now cost $169 minus $40 coupon. I have been using Techstream, but this might be worth adding to the toolbox. In the last 5 minutes is went from 14 in stock to 13........ Better hurry Toyota owners!
I bought my wife a Camry this year because of Scotty's Videos. We absolutely love the car. I just ordered the Launch scan tool off eBay for 106 bucks. It does more than my 5000 oops 500 dollar scan tool. Thanks Mr Scott
I was pissed when then the auto companies started using proprietary software and my OBD scanner was useless. This is a God send that now I don’t have to run to the Dealer about and pay $100 every time the Check Engine light comes on
Thanks so much Scotty. At this time, the 2024 version is $105 on Launch's eBay store. I was just about to buy a different scan tool costing hundreds of dollars more. As a DIY person, it was paining me to put out that amount of money, so I sat on it for a few days with the item in my cart. Then your video popped up on my youtube recommendations. This is exactly what I am looking for. Features galore, even ones only available on expensive scan tools, with low cost. As a DIY person who will not use this tool much, I wouldn't mind the slowness. This tool will allow me to learn more about my car.
Xtool A30M is the best bang for buck. Does all cars and all systems scan. Bidirectional testing as well. I would just put in the extra money and get it $200 or $180 on sale. I've got mine now for just over a year and i love the thing.
I use a Creader eight, works on darn near anything and only set me back a couple hundred bucks new. Free updates. I bought it years ago, updated it free a few weeks ago. great for resetting things like airbags, abs, transmission as well as the usual things.
elite scan tool - I bought one based on your review. sadly it was a bust! the unit would NOT download updates and there was NO telephone number for tech support. Sure wished it had worked.
I bought one of these last few years companies have been coming out with these.. They are pretty good only caution I would give is some companies wanna nickle and dime you for functions and addition cost.. So make sure read review before buy..
Oooo - I really like the AMP-Hound 2; I like how they keep the setup and display simple (IE, they don't make it any flashier than it has to be). Think I might get one of those to help my father chase his seemingly never ending parasitical drains on his boat. Thanks Scotty!
Man if you could buy a few of them starting out with the most popular vehicles you work on . Say Toyota, GM and Ford. A few hundred bucks and you have some great diagnostic capabilities
Ive been browsing ebay for these recently and see they are very cheap. I will definitly get one for my Touran 04 2.0 tdi manuel car. I will also buy one for my parents Mitchubishi outlander! Lovely! Thanks for reviewing this tool! 🙏
Great video Scotty! I've seen you in the past test each cylinder. I think you checked the fuel going to each to see if any cylinder isn't firing out of range. Will this tool do this?
I had misfire problems with my Grand Prix this fall looked at hundreds of scanners on AMZN from 10$ to 250$. They all had 4.5+***** stars and tens of thousands of certified purchases! So I gave up and bought none, just way too many choices! My 10$ HF will have to suffice for codes, and borrowing from the parts store for more. Sorry! I really wish i had the time to find what i want and narrow it down. Nice review Scotty, but i still can't trust it, there's hundreds more all with great reviews too! (And what was with the whole ABS vs non-ABS scanner thing on AMZN? that's really confusing...)
You can buy a cheap $25 OBDII scanner to simply check and reset error codes. That's what most people use them for. AND they work with ALL cars that have OBDII.
Do an in-depth modern review of the bluedriver. That's the best one I have so far for low cost scanners. Your previous review is why I bought one but how is it holding up these days?
That looked like 0/285. NOT 0 7 285 to me and left me confused on that point that was intended from that number Scotty. Did i misunderstand that part because i know that im am not the sharpest pencil in the drawer. ?
I own a Corolla and a Camry and have been taking my car to the auto parts store down the street for a diagnostic and now Scotty Has convinced me. It must be the screaming and repetition(it’s a hundred bucks) that sold me! Thanks Scotty👍!
I don’t understand what does that mean? Cause I was thinking about buying this because I have a Tacoma and tundra. Could you please enlighten me I’m kind of struggling on this purchase.
@@ocularpressure4558 I am simply referring to what was actually being displayed, as opposed to what Scotty said was being displayed. We all make mistakes, even Scotty, who knows about ten thousand times as much about cars and trucks as I do. Yes, it would be nice to have Scotty re-interpret the meaning of the display, knowing that no "7" was being displayed.
Hi there Scotty, really like your video's, so if I have a car with no heated seats, could I get a code reader activate this on my car then go out and buy all the hard where i.e. heated seat and install it so then it would work???
I remember my dad did a deal with a company to test a new OBD2 scan tool while working. This was in 2009. He was told it was a $23k tool and to not attempt to fix it himself he probably used it 4 times and it was as slow as an old Hilux but it worked and was extremely accurate if the vehicle was made correctly And for it's time it was probably worth that but nowadays my dad has a tool that does the same thing hooked up to his dashboard 24/7 that he got for $80 and tells him his temperature, boost and air density outside the engine Edit: spelling
Afternoon Scotty, I am curious about the Launch scan tool, I noticed it does something with the IMMO immobilizer. I have 2 new G Chip keys to cut for my 2016 4Runner, would this allow me to program the new G Chip keys to my 2016 4Runner? Is that something you would know?
Will that diagnostic scanner read headlight system malfunctions for a 2020 Toyota Camry? I’m getting that warning and it says to take it to a Toyota dealer. All my lights appear to be functioning and working properly.
I own a 2017 toyota tacoma. The airbag light came on months ago. I started researching it right away. It goes out and comes on again. I have a shop check it out they said it was faulty airbags. Do you have any idea what I could be?
I got one of the bootleg volvo ones that came with the volvo software. It's a huge hassle everytime i start it though. I wish I'd spent $100 more for a complete used volvo kit
Matco has this same scan tool for about 450 but it has multiple manufacturers and diesel trucks as well. Ive had it for a few months now and its been good so far
Merry Christmas Scotty, from an An Australian Fan. Do you know of Launch have a similar product for a Dodge Ram, or could direct me to any you have tried (assuming you have). Thanks in advance. An Aussie Fan.
Every time the battery is charged/discharged, it incurs increased impedance at the graphite anode is largely contributing to the capacity fading of such lithium-ion cells.

Remember, outside of the US generic scan tools my not work. Depends which continent your car was built. Ie. Toyota Hilux from Africa has different coding..
Merry Christmas!

This information is so useful! I’m so glad Scotty finds products like these and shows them to us. 🙂
Scotty doesn't find these products. They find him - hoping for good free publicity.

There are 100 scan you could buy that will do plenty on almost any brand..id never pay a dealer to turn the check engine light off..
Scotty thank U so much I’m 71 and have grown with ur info on dealing with my car and car problems, thank U,Hapy Holidays
I 💯%love when Scotty tests new tools for us👍

You can't complain about it. It does one heck of a diagnostic software.Upgradable cool.

I got a used Toyota Corolla for my wife today. I think it was a pretty good trade.
You got the better end off that deal! 😉
Ordered Amp Hound 2! Cant wait to start using it.

Or, you could spend $100 and get one one that will work on most car and truck brands...not just one
Great video Scotty! I've seen you in the past test each cylinder. I think you checked the fuel going to each to see if any cylinder isn't firing out of range. Will this tool do this?
I programed an extra key for my Tacoma with it and one for my daughters Camry.
Thank you for sharing! Ordering now.
Merry Christmas Scotty. Thank you for the product reviews.
Happy Holidays Scotty. Hope you never stop doing videos Sir. How we both can enjoy a many more NEW YEARS to come. Peace vf
Thanks scotty love you're specialty tool vids
Thanks for the info.
Another advantage of the manual transmission is no complex solenoids and no need for trouble shooting.
I have ths Honda model used it to reset my crankshaft position sensor. Going to use it to make new keys.
Thanks Scotty!

It's $180 as of Christmas evening.
Merry Christmas Scotty
Thanks Scotty
How much does it cost?
How fast is it?
Thanks!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Scotty. I have the BMW version of this brand scanner.
The amp hound is a game changer! Saves a ton in diagnostic time.
Hi Scotty, I have a same one, It works well on my corolla 2012
You can buy a cheap $25 OBDII scanner to simply check and reset error codes. That's what most people use them for. AND they work with ALL cars that have OBDII.
$90- 130.00 new
Unless it's a VW, apparently. *grumble grumble*
Thanks Scotty !!!!
It’s got free updates for 10 years.
I got one for my Benz and it’s a real bargain! OE level of diagnostic for every module in the car.
I have the honda/acura one and I love it
Very good Scotty.
Like you say/get one of each and leave them in the vehicle.
You have them will you all the time. Price is pretty good too.
Merry Christmas, Scotty, you are a very good UA-camr, I love your videos.
My late husband used to scan me with a Polaroid! He looked a lot like you!!!!!!!!!!
(Ohhhhh what a lover he was!)
Thanks
Do an in-depth modern review of the bluedriver. That's the best one I have so far for low cost scanners. Your previous review is why I bought one but how is it holding up these days?
By far the best option if you have multiple makes. Isn’t a full can tool but gives you more than enough information for basic troubleshooting.
The thing is: I think most Toyota & Lexus owners won't find themselves in a situation to need this capable of a scan tool 🤣
That looked like 0/285. NOT 0 7 285 to me and left me confused on that point that was intended from that number Scotty.
Did i misunderstand that part because i know that im am not the sharpest pencil in the drawer. ?
Some very useful tools right there
Does this one do Electronic brake? Meaning will it put the rear brakes of a toyota or Lexus in service mode to replace the brakes.
Merry Christmas I'm going to check that scanner out. Im going to be a mechanic
I own a Corolla and a Camry and have been taking my car to the auto parts store down the street for a diagnostic and now Scotty
Has convinced me. It must be the screaming and repetition(it’s a hundred bucks) that sold me! Thanks Scotty👍!
3:03 that is a "divided by" or "forward slash" symbol, not a "7".----------- It reads "zero out of 285".

Hi Scotty
My truck is getting this codes 4wd service, I got a 2009 gmc sierra codes are C0397, C0387 do I need a new transfer case??
Little confused.... Can't you do everything the Amp Hound does with a decent Multimeter?

Been looking at one of these for GM considering I own 4 gm vehicles only problem the one dodge that needs it more often 🤣
We bought an older Highlander because we trust Scotty.
This is a good review… But I wish Scotty would’ve told us how much it cost and whether it’s fast or slow. 🙄
Speaking of cheap.. I just bought a blue tooth spkr. The range is about 2 feet.
???????😂😅
I hope we all have a happier new year than 23.🎉🎉🎉
I love my Foxwell Nt530
So I can set my pedal sensor for my Lexus?

Does the Launch tool works with OBD1?! Does the second tool work with glass fuses?!
I got obd11 pro for voswagen does a great job for 105 euros... im getting toyota scaner from video soon. 😋
I wonder how much a scanner can offload and benefit from being connected to your phone, does it or can it work like thay
I want to know what you think of the FIXD scanner, please?
does it check the transmission
It’s great, but what does it cost?
OK, I get it. It's good, But how much is it
?
How much did that thing cost?
It's literally about the first thing he mentions😂
I got one of the bootleg volvo ones that came with the volvo software. It's a huge hassle everytime i start it though. I wish I'd spent $100 more for a complete used volvo kit
Will it do tire pressure monitor changes?
Summer to winter tire changes are a pain because of different sensors.
I had purchased a INNOVA 6100P, based on reviews and price and Scotty had used a similar model on an older video
How does this compare with the blue driver pro?
2024 version of creader now listed at $179
