As a Chinese who spent 14 years studying and working in the US, I returned to China a year ago. Your videos have been such an inspiration to me-they’ve reconnected me with the beauty of my homeland and motivated me to start exploring it myself. China’s water towns are like stepping into a living painting-charming, serene, and full of history. The canals, ancient stone bridges, and traditional architecture create a peaceful atmosphere that transports you back in time. I like every corner feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Thanks for sharing this wonderful place.

@@stanvanillo9831 I noticed she said you are not limited to one visit, I guess this is to stop over-tourism. We have to adopt this globally - we cant have people in Spain and Greece unable to line in the city their family has lived in for 300 years because ever apartment is an aibnb, and every place is destroyed due to over-tourism.

@ China encourages the crazy tourism much more actively though. They don't care about preserving old cities and nature, as long as they find a way to maximize throughput. Really sad to see how 90% of the 'old cities' are just modern fake reproductions. Mao did a great job and in the decades after that they continued his legacy...

She provides a window into the lives of ordinary people in the extraordinary places she visits. This intimate, up-close approach combined with horizon-spanning, dramatic drone footage she also shoots herself does a wonderful job of capturing the essence of an area. Let us be objective and factual. Our Little Sister seemed to have done her videos on these two water-towns of Nanxun & Wuzhen as they are called, very late in Autumn or early Winter when there is very less foreign tourists. Even local tourists are very less in number at that material time. At certain periods of the year, many touristic places are overcrowded with people and you will witness the frantic & hectic movement of the crowds and vehicles present. Maybe these old water or river towns are less known and therefore less frequented by Non-Chinese.

@eye0807 i personally think it's good to take day trip from Hangzhou, transport takes 1-2h by train or bus. In this case it's recommended to plan the trip ahead and stay somewhere closed to the destinated train/bus station.hangzhou is not a small city, it might take 2-3 h metro/car ride just to get to the station if you pick the wrong place😭 if you don't mind taking the luggage with you it's not bad to move town to town. These places are quite touristic and easy to find accommodation. You can simply walk in any hotels or Airbnb to ask for a room without booking.

Woow thanks a lot we did not know this beauty. The scenario at 25:44 is the best how China keep this historical place untouched and around the place is also not built up with buildings or factory. This is very important. 🎉🎉🎉

The narrower waterways remind me of Amsterdam, but Nanxun has a lot more character, with the narrow passageways along the canal margins. As you say, we should go and visit these water towns. I note they are not very far from Shanghai, which might suit some of us tourists for a day visit. I love the flowers and music.
