Awesome vid, it is good to see what is in store. A friend and I are heading over to tasmania in December for some walking. We are going to give the Western Arthurs a shot, it looks pretty tough but that is what we are after, nothing like a good commit. Thanks for the great upload, looks like you were very well prepared and had a blast, cant wait!!
The Eastern Arthurs was the worst walk of my life, 10 days of freezing temperatures, torrential rain and hauling packs up cliffs while battling hypothermia (and that was in summer).. By contrast the Western Arthurs was my best ever walk, a fairly quick 7 days in and out via Scotts Peak with only one wet day. While the Western Arthiurs is slightly more scenic, the biggest difference was the weather.
We started the walk on 26 December. While it didn't snow that time, the temperature never got over 6 degrees on the walk. Eventually everything I had was wet and there was no way to dry it out.
