    Silicone liquid is made by thinning it.
    The silicone liquid can then be soaked into cardboard, to strengthen and waterproof.
    From this card we can make gaskets
    Thick soft card is best, as it will compress better.
    The engine being re-built is a Minarelli AM6 two-stroke, as fitted in:
    Aprilia MX50, RX50, RS50
    Yamaha DT50
    Malaguti Drakon
    Rieju
    Peugeot XR6
    The information will be helpful to all engine builders.

    Try to choose thick soft card, as it will compress better ;)

    Hi, couple of days ago I reassembled my Am6 engine, loved your idea about installing bearings with plastics seperators.
    You seem to know a lot about motorcycle engines. I was wondering could you help me finding the cause of my coolant leaking into combustion chamber? So bassically I bought brand new airsal sport 80ccm kit, installed it the way manual told me, installed the paper gasket dry, and lubed up the O-Rings with grease, torqued everything in star pattern, what could be the cause of leaking?

      Most likely it will be a blown O ring.
      80cc is enormous.
      Are you sure about this?
      74cc is normally the max.
      After that, you would typically change the stroke length IE. crank and top end kit.
      That would give you an increase in cylinder volume.
      You need to measure the piston diameter or cylinder diameter, and measure the stroke, from TDC to BDC, to get the volume.
      Remove the head, and inspect the O ring.
      I'm surprised though.
      I would have thought airsal would supply decent O rings.
      Talk to the supplier and get a replacement... you must have got a bad one.

      The thing is everything is perfect in the kit, gaskets and o-rings looks frest and clean, but the small o-ring in the center that should keep coolant from getting into combustion chamber looks a little thin :(

      Yes... I know what you mean.
      I ended up specifying my own O rings from the industrial sector.
      They provide all the specs, so it is easier.
      The thing is... if the O ring has blown... this should be visible.
      Let me look... maybe I can find a link to my blown gasket.........
      Okay... here is an image of how close my O ring got to the cylinder edge !!!!

      Notice how the movement between the cylinder studs allowed it to be slightly off balance.
