Too true. I thought Ibrahim and Hatice were a wonderful couple - except when Ibrahim was going off the rails. Hurichan's death was terribly sad as well. Particularly when Bayezid begs her not to leave him saying he won't have anyone left if he loses her as well as Cihangir and Mustafa. Murad wanted control Gevherhan and took away what she loved and in end he lost his sister, Akita was selfish and ended up in unlovely marriage and Kosem Sultan lost her Daughter in end too
It also ends up costing Murad his best friend as well.. Silahatar will never be the same again & arguably this causes him to turn evil.

This is one of my favourite, but also my saddest episodes. Atike was the most selfish uncaring of all sisters, Kemankes was never at fault.
She got her karma, she was stuck in unloved marriage and in end lost her sister, brother and husband in end and a good friend faryra

That’s a good point. Murad turned Bayezid against him when he forced him to execute the woman he loved, Kalika Hatun. I cam only guess that Silahatar agreed to the marriage with Geverhan & stayed friends with Murad because it benefitted him in getting more power & prestige

This is one of the reason why I have always like Magnificent Century more than Kosem. Both series are very dramatic and sometimes over the top but Magnificent Century rarely overdone it and the conflicts were, most of the times, very interesting and engaging. Kosem, on the other hand, had some absurd and forced conflicts that just felt exhaustive in the long run. Ayse and Farya, Gevherhan and Atike, etc. This so-called conflict were just absurd and boring🙄

I think that's one thing that we should bring back every woman having a chest by her bed that has some sort of implement like that. It seems every woman has either a knife or poison or something in their chest by their bed for one than time is right.
Most of them had rings like safiye sultana did that had poison in it so they could quickly k!ll themselves if they were going to be tortured or killed otherwise

Murad comes off as either the eldest or the second child. The son, the heir, the precious boy child. Mr Alpha Male control freak. He would have been Sultan regardless of his age though
Geverhan also seems like either the first born or the second child. Anything she actually _wanted_ was ignored, either to hurt her, exert control, she was a woman and considered not as important or because it wasn't "appropriate" and others thought better.
Atike feels like the baby. Pampered, cosseted and short sighted. Jealous of and likes to hurt her older sister and gain the approval of her powerful brother. Doing whatever she can to get whatever she wants while not fully understanding the extent of the consequences. At least not until it's too late.
But in reality Gevherhan sultan (Daughter of sultan Ahmed Khan i of Ottoman Empire and his wife kosem valide sultan) was died in 1660 during the reign of her nephew sultan Mehmed IV of Ottoman Empire,then how is it possible 🤔🇹🇷?

Nas duas coisas. A Sultana Mãe era privilegiada e na ordem do harém era a dirigente, só o próprio sultão tinha mais poder que ela. Até sobre as esposas do sultão ela tinha prevalência. Como mais velha e mãe do sultão, tinha o direito a usar as joias mais luxuosas. Inclusive ela usa o anel de esmeralda que Suleiman fez para a Hürrem.
