This is a very helpful run-through which explains several things I can’t find addressed elsewhere. FYI: but now I must figure out how to remove the BitLocker encryption from my main drive.

Thank you once again, I have now managed to repartition my 1tb ssd drive and now works perfectly. Couldn't have done it without your help.

...many thanks!! Command Prompt has always been a nemesis for me...a scary place...difficult to understand as my 72 year brain cells are slow...if I could only get an up-grade...👍

For some reason, this doesn't work for me. No guide or video has. I'm on Win 10 Pro, yet it won't initialize to GPT without the "GPT Protective Partition" and won't clean it without uninitializing the disk, which I then reinitialize or convert to GPT in DiskPart, only to have the GPT Protective Partition return. Selecting the partition in DiskPart and attempting to delete it manually gives the error: "DiskPart has encountered an error: The request is not supported."
