    please download and test the file. you can compare it to the Maya version and see it's exactly the same.

    Using python will be kind of slow. It's not really the nature of blender but more the nature of python.
    This is a great progress you've made by the way.
    A better approach here would be to use bones and drive the blend shapes with the bones which are driven by the controls on the panel.
    This could also be set up with python initially but wouldn't require python to constantly run in the background which would allow Ctrl+Z to be used and make the viewport run much faster.

      thank you for the info. actually, the reason that I said it's slow is that even without the script it is still slow for instance when I manually change the blendshapes.
      regarding your approach. the problem is there is a bunch of calculation that needs to be done on runtime. values are multiplied by each other and clamp and some if statements for the eye.
      there are hundreds of corrective shapes that need to run by multiple other shapes so coding is the only solution.
      I would appreciate it if you tell me how can I avoid this CTRL + Z problem.
      also, it seems that rotating the bones by script is not as straight forward can you please give me a simple example?

    In a few years blender's animation system will change and if you have continued development of the geometry node you will see the potential for this in animation and bone constraints so all the tools will be open to creativity

      blender is a very interesting topic it's free and growing but I think Maya will go free as well so kind of hard to see what will happen in the future

      @@Metarig It is not a price competition, everyone has a different approach and Blender has grown having to solve internally all the workflows that it did not have access to in the past because it was free software, issues that Maya delegates to the industry.

      ​@@RandyTech272 I don't believe in such a thing. to say Maya forces the users to use it is as valid as saying professionals are stupid. no, if there's a slightly better tool those guys will use that, they are not bigots and they will be more than happy to not pay for software. in my opinion, as long as it's not about animation blender has some merit, especially for sculpting but Animation is a different beast. for example, mush deformer is the thing that I use extensively. it's like a revolutionary thing for me. what is the alternative in Blender or how about skinning a character to a professional level, not to a freaking game-like level. even doesn't have an animation layer on its own. how about a retargeting option? why it's so slow when you have Blendshapes on a dense geometry? it's not practical. in short, if you want to use it at a semi-professional level you are forced to buy plugins and jump into an ocean of bugs and incompatibilities.

      @@Metarig I think the same because I understand the scenario when a program only has to worry about one area, it will do well, what I mean is that those who have to connect other areas will be left behind from one point of view but they will come with a different paradigm for a user who needs it, that's why Houdini has been so successful and is used in everything even though its drawback is its little artistic approach, of course that's what Maya is for

    QUICK TIP - For the lines in-between the eyes as she blink, you can use the clone stamp tool on the texture in photoshop to blender the upper eye lid line area . let me know if it works for you.

      @@Metarig Was testing out using bones and drives and on my system it runs so much smoother vs this dephsgraph setup. Probably because it runs over all controllers with each update

      @@Metarig i think because off your method. Your going over everything which each update. Using bones and drives to drive the vlendshapes is better i believe.
      I'm busy converting scene to bones and drivers and then will check some CPU stats. Curious if it really matters.
      Your approach basicLly moves all vlendshapes at once, while bones and drivers will only do the shapekeys which affected

    In object data properties-Geometry Data, just click “Clear Custom Split Normals Data",then it will be solved about the shading issue

      Ow thats same issue if you open a file from 2.8 or after in blender 2.79. Normals looks all weird

      Issue is actually Normals pointing wrong way. If you check it in overlays, it turns RED, it should be Blue

    how do transfer our own metahumans to this one tho? im not talkign about shape keys because shape keys doesn't fix the rig. how would you match the rig to your custom metahuman's rig?
    Could you do a tutorial on how to do this the proper way please? thanks

      Well, it's definitely possible to automate this manual work if needed. I can totally write the script for it. But here's the thing: Blender users are not really keen on paying for anything, so honestly, it might just end up being a waste of time.

      Add your metahuman as a shapekey of the one in the video and turn it's input value up to 1, make sure your metahuman head has all parts (head, eyes, mouth) and you should be good to go
