Starting enjoying Pink Floyd in 1969 when I was 16 and for sure it was LSD time for me! Now I'm 71 and Pink Floyd is still my favorite band ever. There is "Music" and there is "Pink Floyd". They brings you somewhere out of your body.
Been a Pink Floyd fan for fifty years. My favorite way to listen to them is in a recliner, in the evening, lights down low, with a glass of good bourbon.
I saw pink floyd 4 times live.. the first time in london 1980 The Wall... after that I seen them 3 times in the Netherlands... pink floyd is my favorit band for 50 years and I enjoy seeing young people love pink floyd too... keep going with your nice reactions... greetz from thenetherlands
The guitar is a "Pedal Steel", he used it quite a bit. I was at one of those Earls Court shows, this number was the last before the interval and it really blew the roof off. Off to see Gilmour at the Albert Hall in London in October, can't wait.
I grow up listen to heavy rock and still listen today I see them 11 or 12 timeand I love my heavy rock every day age 64 I like your reacton to my type of music
I've been to three Floyd concerts back in the 70s and I can neither confirm nor deny any information about what I may have partaken in prior to or during those concerts. :)
The lyrics were growled by drummer Nick Mason “One of these days I will cut you into little pieces” , sounded like a monster voice before the change of the tempo.
I had the chance to see this show two nights in a row during their visit to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal on May 23 and 24, 1994. Since I worked night shifts, I had to go to work after the show, and the buddies at work looked at me like I was high on drugs, yet I hadn't taken anything. With Pink Floyd, no need for drugs to get high, their music is more than enough and in addition, there is no danger of overdose. But seeing them performing can become addictive, hence the reason for seeing this show twice.
Was there at Earls Court. The whole experience (saying concert doesn't go near doing it justice) was out of this world. Seen nothing to top Pink Floyd in all my life and I'm 75. Been a fan over 58 years. One of these days is one of their oldest numbers. As for drugs, nobody ever needed drugs to trip out on Floyd. You just sit and let them wash all over you. Dave Gilmour is still touring at 78 and his show is amazing. Drummer Nick Mason has toured recently, both include PF classics. Incidentally the bassist in the video Guy Pratt is still playing - for both bands.
I was at the Pulse concert in Berlin. It‘s still the best concert I have ever been to. I was so impressed by the quality of the sound and the perfection of the live playing that I did not really recognised the light show. Now that I rewatch this on UA-cam, I wish I could be there again. Please do more Pink Floyd reactions. From Pulse or maybe Echoes live at Pompeii if you are ready for this :)
'I was there', a friend and I took two LSD trips each on the way to the concert, you can imagine what a great night we had, just blown away with all the talent, best gig I've ever been too, happy days were they, three cheers to you two oo thanks
In my sixties now and my partying days are far behind me but, back in the day a little smoke never hurt anything. Be it a bong hit chased with some OJ and Bugs Bunny on a Saturday morning or smoking a J Friday evening with the Floyd on the turntable.
i didn't need drugs to listen to pink floyd even seeing them live like that! you felt like you were on a high afterwards though! Simply amazing experience!
Dang, I saw them in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY with just a few beers on board and had to tap the guy in front of me on the shoulder to ask him if a giant pig with laser eyes was staring at him too....I can't imagine dropping before this one...I thought someone spiked my beer as it was....but didnt care!
We went to the show at solider field where the bears play in Chicago. So outdoors. It was an August evening and during this song there was huge thunder and heavy wind and rain coming in off lake Michigan, and it just added to it. Amazing show! Oh and yeah, we smoked some weed while there in between bout of rain. Good times 😎✌
Straight up, i was on some acid, the show i went to was at ASU stadium in Tempe AZ, it is an open stadium no roof, and I swear I thought they were controlling the weather, some songs it'd start to sprinkle some songs it'd clear up some songs it'd get cloudy and a little windy, this happened to be the last song before the first intermission and I was so glad it was cause I thought I was gonna lose my mind, I also thought those pigs were gonna get loose. They were stowed in some weird almost PacMan shaped containers, the word leading up to this concert was they were gonna bring the absolute newest and baddest lights and sound system so when i had seen the things they were in I just figured they were some crazy ass speakers or some shit.
Great reaction! You don't 'need' to be on something to enjoy Pink Floyd...but it helps! And we don't need to go crazy either - a little bit of green goes a LONG way!! (I'd say most of the attendees there that 'are' on something - weed is the substance of choice), but any psychedelic will do! BUT, Floyd has a way of making you think you're on something with the music they make (and the visuals they do it to!) This song, especially this live version, has been a favourite of mine since 1994! For another trip - check the song Welcome To The Machine! Cheers.
Pink Floyd is an experience! Saw them in the 70s following the release of their album, "Animals." Of course they did a lot of "Dark Side Of The Moon'" and this from their "Echoes" album. Back in the day in my hometown, Chicago.
Not everyone was on stuff at these concerts, though many were! Another great song from this concert is "High Hopes," along with "Sorrow." Definitely check out "Time" though (live or studio)!
My favourite band for over half a century, in answer to your question re drugs,, you didn't need drugs for Floyd however you did need Floyd for the drugs, a little weed headphones and a good sound system, two volumes for Floyd, loud and loudest,
Excellent choice for review. PULSE was a *staggeringly* good concert. Caught it with 65,000 friends. The audio quality is excellent throughout, and the light show……well, you’ve seen it. Any song from this show will be exceptional, and a fine choice for another reaction. The only lyric in this song (“One of these days, I’m going to cut you into little pieces!”) reportedly goes all the way back to when Floydicus Pinkus was just an up-and-coming English band, and the days when you edited magnetic recording tape with razor blades and editing blocks. The Floyd felt that a BBC personality who interviewed them spent most of the interview loving the sound of his own voice. Afterwards, one of the band members expressed the desire to edit him out of the interview recording. This would involve physically cutting him out of the taped recording, leaving many little bits of his talking in mag-tape pieces on the floor. Hence the desire to ‘cut him into little pieces’. Sounds much better than physically cutting someone up. Well, to me, anyway.
Wasn't slipped in, it's been there from the start, listen to the album, the title of the song is also a quote from one of the episodes about the Daleks where Davros said it to the Doctor.
@@kennethcurtis6648 I've been listening to the album for nearly 50 years, its not the Who theme. It sounds like it but veers off into something different no doubt because using the theme itself may have created awkward copyright issues. I've also been watching Dr who for 54 years and am familiar with the theme in all its guises.
I saw Pink Floyd twice. The first time, U2 played the previous weekend. I didn't smell any weed. The following weekend, I saw Pink Floyd, everyone was lighting up. I didn't want any substances. I want to remember it. You don't need anything for a Pink Floyd show. Just enjoy the show. I have had people tell me they were so drunk or stoned at a concert that they don't remember it. I think that is sad. First, you spent all that money. Then you wanted to have memories, yet you have no memories.
From where I was sitting, I couldn't take my eyes off the pigs...suckers looked like they were comming for me with those laser eyes and I had to ask the dude in front of me if he saw a ginormas pig with laser eyes too....
I'm 69. I saw Pink Floyd playing this track, on the TV, on the Old Grey Whisle Test, when I was 17. Because of that I went out and bought my first album (LP) I was going to buy Meddle but they were sold out - so I bought Monster Movie Made In A Castle With Better Equipment. (Can not Floyd)
You don't need drugs with Floyd you will get high on the music. The lyrics for this song in the middle are "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces"
There is one verbal line in this song “One of these days I’m going to cut you into little pieces.” It’s really hard to hear but it happens right before the song REALLY kicks into high gear. I suggest listening to it again and trying to find the lyric.
I can't think of another rock band who uses the steel guitar that much, or another guitar legend who I have even seen play one on stage. It's usually some guy you never heard of, playing it in the back, for country artists.
If you think this was wild, check out In the Flesh. A full size plane flies over the crowd and crashes into the right of the stage at the end of the song. My jaw hit the floor.
Pleasure drugs ... drunk high ...low... are not usefull at Pink Floyd Concerts.... Psychodelics were used by many as the time warp and interdimensional experiences of LSD are similar to the lights and music by Pink Floyd .
they DID sing, everyone misses it from talking over it, the lyrics are "one of these days, im going to cut you into little pieces" only sings it once in the whole song, right in the middle,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Are you saying you think we were taking enhancement chemicals??? No. Say it ain't so. LOL Honestly, you really didn’t need to take or smoke anything at a Pink Floyd concert. The sounds and sights were enough to get you high. But it didn’t hurt to get a little prepared before the show began.
Starting enjoying Pink Floyd in 1969 when I was 16 and for sure it was LSD time for me!
Now I'm 71 and Pink Floyd is still my favorite band ever.
There is "Music" and there is "Pink Floyd". They brings you somewhere out of your body.
Nice! The stories and trips you had while living these times must be amazing! 🏆
Great reaction…someone once said in the comments..”.. don’t need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd..but you do need Pink Floyd to fully enjoy your drugs”
😂😂
The weed is wiser with the Floyd.
Saw them at Vanderbilt Stadium on this tour. Purposely went unbuzzed and had the time of my life! I can still remember the shock when the pigs lit up
Been a Pink Floyd fan for fifty years. My favorite way to listen to them is in a recliner, in the evening, lights down low, with a glass of good bourbon.

Entire PF live pulse is fire. Every song. Real talent every one.
I was at that gig. Greatest audio/visual experience of my life!
I grow up listen to heavy rock and still listen today I see them 11 or 12 timeand I love my heavy rock every day age 64 I like your reacton to my type of music
Saw Pink Floyd 1988 Maine Road, Manchester..stone cold sober...blew my fucking mind
Saw the Australian version of the Pulse tour in Melbourne, didn't need to be chemically enhanced as the concert experience got us high enough!!
Yes if you weren't tripping or shrooming you were still in for an experience for sure . Pink floyd to get the full effect ya better trip out .

In an interview with Mason and Waters, they said Mason did it in a falsetto voice, they played with the speed and added effects.
I had the chance to see this show two nights in a row during their visit to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal on May 23 and 24, 1994.

That's like a top 5 best concert experience of all time!!!
I am on my seventies and I have been to many Great concerts and when it comes to Pink Floyd they are literally out of this world
A true banger with amazing slide guitar work!

This track was off my fav LP of Pink Floyd Meddle which was released in 1971 and contains my fav track of Floyd Echoes 24min track
The real Pink Floyd🤘
i didn't need drugs to listen to pink floyd even seeing them live like that! you felt like you were on a high afterwards though! Simply amazing experience!
Saw them twice in concert. Greatest band ever.
WEED!! Baby!! Everyone knew, back in the day, it's time to get "wasted" and chill to Floyd!! 👍👍😎🇺🇸
Saw em' in 92 at Ohio Stadium on acid. Absolutely amazing.

Pink Floyd just jamming.

I was at this concert, I took some ecstasy and beer, me and my pal, good times.

Musicianship is a dying art. In High SCHOOL in the 70's. We could not wait to go to band class.

The interviewer in question hated Pink Floyd and was always bagging them, and telling his own audience to ignore their music.
I was told by someone that went to this concert, that some people were lighting one up before and during the concert
