@@HappyDude1 The problem is that the 6mm shell is loaded from the front, so the effective total length of the barrel is less than the 4.5mm revolver where the shell is loaded from the rear. For Airsoft Dan Wesson revolvers, there are some 6mm shells that are rear loaded, but you have to buy these separately and they are a bit hard to find. These 6mm rear loaded shell will increase the fps, because they increase the total barrel length by at least 1 inch.
Not Revolver, cheap half automatic or full auto pistols -> yes. Normal and good quality pistols would need more extra care after each day of shooting with 6mm steel BBs. But no problems with revolver, they work differently. @@HappyDude1
You made some major mistake there. Sure the FPS is lower but FPS =/= joule/power. Heavier projectile is slower but more powerful. Next thing pointing the gun downwards does nothing really. The heavier BBs goes faster to free fall and loses its power in comparison to the lighter .177 BBs. That's basic physics. Lets say both start with the same velocity, wich they won't, because 6mm 0.9g are way slower then .177 0.30-35g, so in order to be on par you'd have to modify the 6mm cal airsoft so it lets more CO2 get through to the projectile. Next use the same kinds of shells. To backloader for both. You used front loader for the 6mm and backloader for the .177 . So not really a fair comparison here, and ignoring physics in one of your tests, which makes the video kinda pointless. And in the end with the glas the CO2 was way too drained to give enough power. And important to consider the CO2 usage for each shot is different with both revolvers. To have accurate results you'll need to use fresh CO2 capsules for each test. And forget that FPS stuff, that's irrelevant. In comparison to real guns: 9mm vs 45ACP. 9mm is a lot faster but WAY weaker than .45ACP. So FPS doesn't matter much when it comes to power.

Hi! I bought a Model 29 S&W Umarex revolver in 6mm. Is it ok to use steel bbs instead of plastic? Doesn’t it ruin the revolver?

Airsoft has more realistic and more variety of weapons than .177 bb gun. But I like to shoot metal bb knowing that I could damage something.
